I'm the Alpha's World

Chapter 8

"Don't move or I'll miss." Fiona holds my toe as she attempts to paint it light pink. "The girls at the salon make this look so easy."

"My left hand looks good, but the right is just horrible." I cringe at my work and try to fix up the nails.

"This was a bad idea." She huffs and drops he hands to the floor, knocking over the small container of polish. "Crap!"

A tiny bit slips into the carpet creating a pink splotch. "I told you we should have done this downstairs on the wood floor!" I scold her and move everything out of the way. "How do you get nail polish out of carpet?"

"I don't know google it." She stares at the mark in a panic.

I grab her phone and quickly look it up before reading it out loud. "Blot gently and don't rub, as you want to make sure you don't make the stain larger by spreading it around. If you have light colored carpet, a non-acetone remover is your best bet in getting the polish removed. Place a small amount on a cloth or sponge and blot the stain until no color remains."

"So nail polish remover?" She gets up and grabs it from the bathroom along with a small hand towel.

"Blot don't rub." I remind her and screw on the caps to all the nail polish containers.

Slowly the color begins to fade and Fiona let's out a sigh of relief. "I love google."

After I go to the bathroom we move downstairs and turn on a movie. We curl up on the couches with blankets and pillows, we even made popcorn and other snacks.

My eyes water during a certain part in the movie and I sniffle dewing Fiona's attention. "Evan, it's not even that sad."

"I'm sorry, I just have a weak heart." I wave her off and wipe away me tears.

"You're so emotional ever since you got back."

I throw a few pieces of popcorn at her and continue watching the movie, only crying one more time until it's over. I check the clock to find out its one in the morning, Andrew should be home if they just checked the borders. "When do you think Andrew will be home?"

"I don't know, I wasn't paying attention to that." She says and gets up off her couch. "Probably any minute now, who knows, they could have had a couple beers after or something."

I let it go and turn on another movie.

Before I realize it, the second one ends and Andrew is still not home, I can see Fiona is beginning to worry. "Should we do something? Should I call Sebastian and see if he knows anything?"

She nods and I pick up the phone sitting on the side table. Quickly I dial the number and wait for him to pick up.

"Hello?" His voice sound sleepy.

"Sebastian are you home?"

"Yes, I was just sleeping." He mutters. "Why is something wrong?"

"Andrew isn't home yet and Fiona is worried."

"Did she try his cell?"

"Yes, he left it here."

I hear him murmur random things that I can't understand. "I'm not sure where he could be, maybe he wanted to stay out by the borders for a shift or he could have gone for a run."

I tell Fiona what Sebastian said and she seems to calm down a bit.

"I miss you." I talk into the phone.

"I miss you too." He sighs.

"I'm sorry, I'm just keeping you up."

"No, I like to listen to your voice."

I blush and imagine that I'm laying with him. "Well I better get back to Fiona, goodnight, I-I love you."

"I love you too honey."

With that I hang up and look at Fiona with wide eyes. "What is it?" She asks and I crash back onto the couch.

"He called me honey." My bush seems to grow darker and I squeeze the pillow in my arms. "I think I'm getting cramps." I rub above my underwear line.

"Well you know where the tampons are if you need one."

I lean back and watch the screen.

A few minutes later we hear the front door jiggle and push open only to have Andrew walk through.

"Where have you been?" Fiona gets up and walks over to him, but I stay where I am and mind my own business.

"Sorry I just wanted to continue the run for a bit longer and I lost track of time." He explains.

They continue to talk for a bit as I continue to try and sooth my cramps. Sometimes being a girl really sucks. Fiona comes back and sits down as Andrew seems to go upstairs.

"Is everything okay?"

"Yea, I guess the little joke earlier got to him and he lost track of time thinking." She shrugs and grabs the bowl of pretzels.

"I think I'm going to grab a tampon just in case, I don't know, I feel like it's going to happen." I say and Fiona waves me off.

I walk upstairs and gently knock on their bedroom door. "Andrew, can I grab something from the bathroom?"

He opens the door and lets me in before getting back to his computer laying on the bed. I shut the door behind me and open the cabinets underneath the sink, I spot the box of tampons and grab three from the box do I don't have to bother Andrew in the morning. My eyes wonder to hair products, extra towels, toilet paper, and the little box of pregnancy tests. Curiosity tugs at my brain and I carefully pick up the box.

"Just for fun." I whisper Fiona's words and peek inside the box to see a few tests left. I take one out and study it. It has blue packaging around it with a logo printed in a constant pattern. I suck in a short breath when I tear it open, what am I doing? I can't just put it back after it's been opened.

Quickly I lock the door and sit down on the toilet with the torn packaging in my hands. "This is a bad idea, I should't waist her tests." I whisper.

Something deep inside me almost yells at me to open it all the way, and I do. I toss the blue plastic into the trash and stare at the test.

One silly test won't hurt anyone.

I hesitantly do as instructed and finish up after I see no blood that could be my period. I hold the test in my hand and wave it around like I see people do on T.V.

This was a bad idea, I hope Fiona doesn't mind. I just was curious after seeing her take it.

I look around the bathroom and smell the fresh bar of soap siting on the edge of the bathtub, I read the label on it. "Peppermint." I smell it again. "I need to get this."

"Evan, are you okay in there?" Fiona's voice calls to me from the other side of the door and I panic. Quickly I grab the tampons and snap the lid onto the test before shoving it in the pocket of my pajamas.

I open the door and smile. "Sorry I was having a little trouble, with the uh, tampon."

"Oh okay."

I take a deep calming breath when she lets it go and I follow her back downstairs.
