I'm the Alpha's World

Chapter 31

"Marina set up one of the guest bedrooms for you."

"Perfect, excuse me, I'll just take a quick shower." My father slips into the guest room, leaving me alone in the hallway. I make my way into my bedroom to find Sebastian walking out of the bathroom.

"He's all settled in." I tell him and climb onto the bed. "Caroline is in bed also, asleep. She passed out like a light."

"Maybe we can make it through without any crying." He joins me in the bed after turning off the lights. "I love her but I hate waking up at two o'clock."

"Well it is your turn tonight if she does, so you better prepare yourself." I joke and curl up under the covers. He is quick to wrap his arm around me and we place ourselves in the sleeping position we have gotten used to over the while we have been together. "Sleeping is much easier without that giant belly." I mumble and scoot closer to him.

He soothingly strokes my hair, wrapping the ends around his finger. My eyes grow used to the darkness and I find myself looking up at him. "I'm sorry Sebastian, I'm sorry for my breakdowns lately."

"Don't apologize, I know you have been through a lot." He quietly mutters and I rest my head against his chest, listening to the constant beat of his heart.

"Do you remember when Fiona and I went shopping and you found the underwear in the drawer?"

He chuckles which only causes me to join him. "How could I forget, you were so nervous, but it was adorable."

I smile again this chest as he continues to play with my hair. "How about when Fiona and I wanted to have a pool party so we bought that kiddy pool. Oh god, and that swimsuit she gave me." I blush.

"I didn't mind the swimsuit." He says and I laugh.

"I miss her."

"You haven't spoken in only three days." He says.

I sigh and glance up at him again. "She's my best friend, every minute that I know she's upset with me makes me want to throw up."

"Don't worry about it, you can try again tomorrow."

I nod and we stay in silence for a good moment before I pipe up again. "I love you, Sebastian."

"I love you too sweetheart, and our Caroline."

"How can anyone not love her? She's almost too adorable." I giggle thinking about her scrunched up face.

I sit alone with Caroline in the kitchen. Sebastian and my father left to put the information he gave to use, hoping to find the rouges behind this. To think they wanted to start a new pack, and now they're trying to take ours, it is disgusting.

I give Caroline her bottle and she happily drinks it. "Do you want siblings? I mean you might need a brother unless you rebel and change the rules so a woman can become Alpha. That would be cool, way better then my gun thing." I mindlessly chat to her. "The thought of pushing out another baby... I try not to think of it. But you were definitely worth the months of constant peeing and pain, you're just too cute!" I coo at her but she stays focused on her bottle.

"Let's just hope daddy and grandpa get those bad people." I begin to walk around the kitchen, slowly circling the island. "Then we can play outside, and when it gets warm you can come in the pool with us. We can get you one of those baby floaters."

Talking me from our one sided conversation I look up to see Henry walking in. Surprised, I watch him, not knowing what to say.

"Evangeline." He mutters before turning around and heading off upstairs.

"Well that was short," I mumble to Caroline. "I wonder what he needs."

When it starts to get dark I begin to worry about Sebastian and my dad. I hope they are okay out there, possibly getting rid of the rouges if we are lucky.

Caroline and I busy ourselves and I give her a bath. When she's all clean I dress her for bed and we sit down on the comfy chair in the corner of her room. "I'll read you a story."

I randomly grab a book from the shelf and begin to read with her laying on my arm. "The princess ran from the castle, not wanting to marry the evil prince. She ran as far as her legs could run and when she came to a big oak tree she sat down. The princess yawned and slowly fell to sleep. When she woke up she was no longer under the big oak tree, she was in a carriage. The princess looked out the carriage window and saw the most beautiful fields of pink and yellow flowers, blooming high enough to reach the sky-"

I hear the phone ringing from my bedroom and I glance down to Caroline, who is fast asleep. Quickly I place her in the crib and rush into the bedroom. I grab the phone and answer, "hello?"

"Evangeline?"

"Yes," I say, "Andrew is that you?"

"Grab Caroline and Henry, run to my house as fast as you can. Lock the doors, closes the curtains, grab anything to defend yourself. Fiona knows where the gun is." With that the calls ends my I stare at the phone, my heart racing in my chest.

I toss the phone onto the bed and hurry into the nursery. I grab Caroline and her blanket before running to Henry's room and pounding on the door. "Henry hurry, it's an emergency. We have to go!" I yell and he opens the door.

"What is it?" He rubs his eyes, obviously he has been asleep.

"No time, we have to go."

We rush down the stairs and out the front door barefoot. Henry grabs Caroline from me, helping us move faster. "What's going on?" He asks as we run down the pathway.

"I don't know, we have to get to Fiona and Andrews, something went wrong."

Finally we near their house and I search around for anyone. I have never felt so paranoid. Henry frantically knocks on the door and Fiona opens it, seeing her seems to bring tension between us. "Get in."

Once we are inside she shuts the door and locks it. "What's going on?" Henry looks at her.

"Andrew only had time to tell me to lock everything, arm myself, and that they fell into a trap."

I take Caroline from Henry and rock her, trying to calm her crying. "A trap? What do you mean-" I stop and take a deep breath. Was it really too good to be true?

"What is it Evan?" Henry questions while Fiona glares at me, not wanting to be anywhere near me after what I did.

"Sebastian he knew, but, this is all too much I don't understand. Sebastian, he's in danger! I need to get to him!" Before I can go anywhere Henry grabs my arm.

"I didn't hear the rules, but I'm sure leaving the house is a bad idea."

"Please, like you two care what happens to me, you both hate my guts so just let me go." I hand Caroline over to Henry and just as I reach the door Fiona surprisingly steps in my way.

"You are right, I do hate you, but if the Luna dies on my watch then I am screwed too."

I clench my jaw. "We all know that I can handle myself."

"You're killing rampages is not handling yourself."

I glare at her before turning away. How am I supposed to help Sebastian if Henry and Fiona are playing bodyguards? There is a possibility that I can sneak out, but I doubt I will be given enough time alone. "What if he needs me? What if he's hurt?"

"Believe me, Sebastian can handle himself." Henry says while holding Caroline gently. "He is the last one you should worry about."

"You're not the only one having to hold back from helping. Well, who knows, you sure the hell did not hold back on my sister when you tore her to bits so why don't you just kill us and go!" Fiona yells at me and I can see her annoyance clearly on her face. "You're so selfish!"

"I did it for my family!" I step up to her, staring her down as she does back.

"You did it because you're a monster, inside that little screwed up head of yours!"

I hold back my balled up fist. "She was threatening you're Alpha!"

"There were better ways of handling the situation then going off and murdering her!"

"Will you guys shut up!" Henry catches our attention. "You're pissing off Caroline, and while we are stuck in here let's agree to not talk. God forbid we catch someone's attention and get killed."

Fiona quiets down and so do I. Refusing to look at her, I take Caroline and make my way to the kitchen, away from the drama.
