I'm the Alpha's World

Chapter 16

Henry and Kandy left the party early. No one minded since they just found out they're mates, and later on everyone else left too. I stayed behind to help Fiona clean up while Andrew was fast asleep upstairs. I haven't seen Sebastian since we got home, he went straight to work. Probably busying himself so he doesn't have to see me.

I envy Henry and Kandy, they just found out they're mates and it happened so smoothly. He hugged her, she cried out of happiness... All of it seems so unfair. I may sound like a child, but I wish Sebastian and I could have met like that. No ordering around, no guns, no fighting, but just tears of joy and I nice hug.

I convinced Fiona to let me walk home alone so I could not go home. Instead I snuck out to the forest and made sure I was far in so no one could see me. Stopping in a small clearing I stare up at the sky and see the moon full and bright. "Why did you come out here."

I gaze down and see the moon goddess standing in front of me. "Tell me more about her."

She smiles and takes my hands in hers, her skin soft and porcelain. "She will be like you, in the sense that she can talk to me and see me, but like you she's so much more."

"There's more to her?" I ask quietly. "And me?"

"Yes, I can show you if you'd like?"

My face lights up as she grips my hands tighter. Suddenly she lifts me up and off the ground, and I notice she's off the ground too. I look around me as my eyes follow up the trees until we're at the tops of them all.

The breeze slips up my dress and runs over my skin, giving me goosebumps. "What's happening!" I shout and frantically search for the forest floor, but all I see is green. "This is amazing!"

"It's the full moon, it gives you power Evangeline." My heart drops when she lets go of me. My eyes squeeze shut as I drop, free-falling through the air. Screams erupt from my throat as I start to near the tree tops. "Help me!" I yell as my eyes bulge out from my head.

"Focus Evangeline, focus on what you want." My eyes shoot to the side and see that she's falling with me. "Just relax and focus."

I continue to fall and hit branch after branch. Focus, focus on what I want! My heart races as the ground comes into view. "I can't!" I cry. "I can't do it!"

My lungs seem to burst as I scream, expecting to smack against the ground any second. I shut my eyes and prepare to meet my fate, but it doesn't come. She grasps my hand and I dangle from her like a Christmas ornament. My heart is about to pound out of my chest as she slowly lowers me back onto the grass. "Why would you do that!" I yell and lay on my back. "I almost died!" My chest rises and falls rapidly.

"They're coming." She whispers. "I must go."

When I look back at her she's gone.

Suddenly I hear rustling in the bushes only for a couple guards to appear. "Luna?" They run towards me as I lay breathless and about to have a heart attack.

"We found her in the middle of the forest, just laying on the ground."

"We went over because we heard screams."

Sebastian nods with his arms crossed, listening to the guards explanation while I sit off to the side like a child.

My mind can't help but think about everything that happened, she took me into the air, we were flying. It was breathtaking, amazing, mind blowing, I can't explain it. In that moment the world felt like mine, it was mine to explore. Then she let go of me and I fell. I felt like I was going to die, but did she think I could float in the air like she can? That's impossible, I'm not like her, I'm not like my baby.

"Well are you going to explain?"

I glance up to she Sebastian standing in front of me with his arms still crossed, the guards gone.

"I can't explain." A smile lights up my face and I bite my lip. "It was incredible."

Confusion comes across his face. "What was, what happened out there?"

"Everything, anything, I can't even think right now!" I cheer and happily get up. "Sebastian I saw the entire forest and the moon and the clouds!"

"Are you feeling okay?" He asks. "Is it the baby?"

"The baby," I reach out and hug him, "she's fine, she's more then fine."

"She?"

I move away. "The moon goddess told me all about her, she's like me."

"You need to get to bed." He turns away and leads me upstairs.

My mood takes a dent from his words, does he not believe me? We walk into the bedroom and I sit down on the edge of the bed as he walks into the bathroom. "How about a bath?" I call to him and he appears in the doorway.

"This morning you were telling me you don't know me and now you want to take a bath? Evangeline, I thought this was all from the pregnancy but now my mind is changing."

"What do you mean?"

"I didn't want to believe it, but those two weeks that you were gone, I think they really changed you."

I swallow hard. "Well of course they changed me."

"Not for the better."

My eyes harden and my fists ball up. "How can you say that, and to my face."

"I was fine with the moon goddess issue before, but now that you're telling me she said its a girl and that she's like you-"

"What's wrong with her being like me?" I stand up and stare him dead in the eyes.

He doesn't say anything but he only walks back into the bathroom. "What's wrong with it being like me Sebastian, you don't want the baby to be crazy?"

Silence.

"Why do I feel like every time we talk we're falling apart?" I ask, my voice shaky. "We're not supposed to be like this."

"What are we supposed to be like then?" He calls to me from the bathroom as I hear the sink running.

"We are supposed to be happy like Henry and Kandy."

He comes out of the bathroom without a shirt on and he pulls open one of the drawers of the dresser. "They just found out they're mates Evangeline."

"Fine. I just want to know why it's so painful for you to be around me."

He stops and leans against the dresser.

"You used to want to be with me." I mutter. "Just tell me what I'm doing wrong and I'll stop."

Silence.

"I'll do anything, just please stop hating me."
