Chapter Husband’s first 6

Chapter 6

He heard these words. His gaze refocused. They were filled with regret and despair.

Seeing my face, he asked in confusion, “What happened to your face?”

“Allergy. I told you before. I am severely allergic to alcohol,” I said.

He never believed me.

Jay suddenly became silent.

I knew he remembered the countless times I had explained my allergy. Each time, he thought I was acting out of jealousy.

After a moment, he remembered something and took out his phone.

Just when I thought he was going to have someone send the agreement for signing.

Jay called his assistant again. He heard the assistant’s voice and then remembered he had already fired him.

So he hung up.

Then, in my pitifully hopeful gaze, he contacted the hospital.

“I am Lilian’s relative. I want to ask about her allergy. Why hasn’t she returned?” he asked.

Even now, the first person he thought of was Lilian.

I couldn’t help but laugh sarcastically.

The hospital staff replied to him, saying they had no record of Lilian’s visit today.

Seeing his bewildered face after the call was cut off, I said coldly, “Are you still concerned about the person who killed your

daughter? You say I’m unfit to be a mother. Do you think you are a qualified father?

“Jay, don’t you think you’re ridiculous?” I said.

His expression gradually stiffened under my relentless questioning.

He processed my words for a moment. Then his eyes suddenly widened.

His face was full of astonishment.

I knew he finally understood what I meant.

So I continued, “The surveillance video you showed me was from two days ago. By then, Chloe had already been cremated. Instead of worrying about Lilian’s allergy, you should talk to her about Chloe being framed.”

Seeing his incredulous expression, I said resolutely, “Even though Chloe is gone, I will never let anyone blame her!”

After I spoke, Jay’s hands lost all strength. His phone dropped vertically to the floor.

His eyes were filled with deeper despair.

The next second, he quickly bent down to pick up his phone and was about to turn and leave.

He shouted loudly towards the door, “You all should leave!”

As he reached the door, he suddenly remembered something. He turned and saw the urn I was holding.

His face was filled with guilt and remorse.

Then he walked up to me. For the first time, he knelt on one knee in front of me.

“I’ll take you. We will bury Chloe together,” he said.

Hearing this, I responded indifferently, “You are not worthy.”

He slowly lowered his head in my resoluteness.

He reached out and slapped his own face forcefully several times.

His tan skin quickly became red and swollen. His chin trembled slightly.
