Chapter 20
Asgeir POV
"Come on, Just try it, who knows you might actually like it" I said holding up the roasted bird and resisted the urge to laugh when he looked at me, then at the bird, and shook his head.
He was soo much like a baby.
"I don't eat food that way."
" I know. You eat everything without cooking it, but there's a first for everything." I said smiling at him.
"I got them for you."
I actually chuckled at that, thinking he was actually going go try every angle just to get out of eating something that was cooked.
I suppose he didn't like the taste, just like a human would not like the taste of a bird that was raw.
"Yes, and I'm sharing them with you, besides three is way to much for me." I said smiling at him.
He looked like he was having a mental battle of some sort, and eventually he lowered his head down to my level, though I still had to look up, given how huge he was. He opened his mouth slightly and I smiled when I placed the bird inside and watched him slowly chew.
It was actually amusing to watch him chew it and see the struggle on his face when he clearly wanted to spit it out. He chewed it a bit more then swallowed it.
"And?" I asked, biting the inside of my cheek to hold my laughter.
"It tastes like-"
He trailed off when he couldn't fine a word, and I laughed, making him tilt his head while he watched me laugh.
"It's okay for you to say it tastes like shit." I said and began pulling off all the flesh from the bones.
"Shit.. what is that?"
I looked at him incredulously , but soon realized that his human vocabulary must have been limited to basic words, after all I doubted that dragons actually spoke the same lingo like us.
After I ate, we spoke about almost everything. And by the time the sun was setting, I was so surprised at how comfortable I felt around him.
I felt so much peace and contentment, just by looking into his eyes. As ironic as it was, he made me feel such a peace and safety that I have not felt before.
"Do you not have sisters?"
"No. In fact there a no females in my kingdom. The only time I ever saw one was when I when I went with Father and Dad, to a wedding in a neighboring kingdom." I said as I sat and dangled my feet over the cliff.
"Are 'Dad' and 'Father' two different people?"
He did that titling of his head thing again, and I soon realized that he did that when he was confused or unsure of something, and I smiled and patted the space next to me. He looked at it then at me and lowered his head, resting it beside me, while I ran my palm over his scaly forehead.
"Yes. They're both my fathers. My eldest brother called them that so when we came along, we just followed it, I suppose it's less confusing that way." I said as I rubbed my palm over his head.
"My Dad gave birth to all of us." I added while he looked over the cliff at the waves below.
"Birth? What's that?"
I thought about it for a moment. Never in my life did I ever think I would have to explain birth to someone. It was something that was natural to us, and we didn't even wonder why we did it.
"It's when a baby comes out of a person." I said and watched him look so confused it was always comical.
"How does a baby come out of a person?"
He asked looking genuinely confused, it made me want to ask him where they're babies came from, but I knew if I did, that would make him remember his family, and that would probably make him upset and angry all over again.
"Do you know what sex is?" I asked and watched his reaction and I almost choked when I saw that he didn't know what it was.
"What is sex?"
I looked at him then at the waves bellow, wondering just how the hell I had resorted to this. I was about to explain sex to a freaking dragon.
"It's when two people connect their bodies in a euphoric passionate way, and most of the time, one of them releases their essences into the other and a baby is formed. He carries the baby inside him for nine months and at the end of the ninth month, he gives birth." I said looking at him, and I couldn't help my curiosity, and I only hoped that he wouldn't get angry.
"How are dragon babies born?" I asked and braced myself for the worst, but he just remain as still as he was, letting me run my palm across his head.
"We all come from the flames. Our mother will breathe out a flame and Our father releases something into the flames and kindles it for a month, thereafter, a dragon baby comes out of that flame."
"Wow, so you've never had sex before?" I asked genuinely surprised.
"Have you?"
I felt my face flushing a deep shade of red at his question and for some unknown reason, I suddenly felt conscious of myself and I couldn't bring myself to speak, so instead I just shook my head.
"Neither have I."
We didn't say anything after that and just sat in silence.
"But I am curious about it. I'd like to try it one day"
And this time, I did actually choke on my saliva and I can say for certain that I have never ever felt that amount of shock in my entire life. I looked at him with wise eyes, while he just looked ahead, completely unaware of what he just insinuated .
"Can you also have babies like that?"
He asked as he turned his head and was now looking at me with those eyes that always did weird things to me. I looked into them and nodded at him, hoping and praying that he couldn't see my flushed expression.
"It sounds like an amazing thing. To connect your body with another. When you first told me about it, I thought in my mind that I wanted to do that with you, but I soon realized that I'd probably crush you and hurt you."
I looked at him with utter disbelief, and shock in my eyes.
Did he not have a filter?
