His Lethal Love

Chapter 74

Camille POV. "Come here..." Scott ordered me which raised my fury as I clenched my hands into fists and didn't budge from my place. He reached out to me before he wrapped his arm around my waist and pulled me closer to him. My breath shook when his hand reached behind me. I closed my eyes and didn't look at him. History was repeating. I had come to the point where I couldn't do anything but fulfill his demands. Only the difference was I loved him at that time but now I hate him more than anything in the world. A cry escaped my lips when Scott unzipped my gown in one swift motion and let it slide down my body. I trembled like a leaf under his hungry eyes. His eyes caressed down my body, taking me every inch of my skin.

Suddenly, his gaze paused at the ugly mark on my abdomen caused by an accident. His hand reached out and gently stroked it. "How did this happen?" His voice sounded concerned.

My jaw clenched as I said nothing, letting him know I was not interested in small talk. When I didn't speak, he stepped back from me and began undressing. He was wearing a crisp navy blue suit that hugged him perfectly. The first thing he did. was throw his suit jacket on the sofa. The entire time he was shedding his clothing, his eyes were on me. He was about to unbuckle the belt of his pants but stopped and snapped his eyes at me, a sinister smile playing on his lips. "How about starting with oral sex?" He asked and I cringed. "First, I want to make out with you." I crossed my arms over my chest, giving him the impression that I didn't want to do this. "Well, if you don't..."

"First, I need to take a shower!" I cut him off abruptly.

He gazed at me for a few moments before saying, "That's fine." He sighed and motioned to me in his room. "But be fast."

I rolled my eyes and headed straight to his room and entered his private bathroom. My gaze was drawn to the giant window, where I could see the city lights. While my eyes were heavy with water, I walked to the window and sat down in the bathtub. Every breath I took hurt my chest. My body has been shaking since yesterday. Pressing my head against the glass window, I closed my eyes and breathed heavily. I made up my mind that I would not leave the room until morning. I didn't want to sleep with him. I never thought that I would have to do this to save my daughter's life. Life gave him the reins of it. I dreamed of ruining him, but life is a bitch. He had full control over me and my family. He was a dirty bastard. After a while, It was night and cold and I was just in my undergarments sitting in the bathroom. I grabbed a bathrobe and wrapped it around my body. Time passed but I didn't hear from Scott nor did I hear any movement from outside. I didn't know the time but I had been sitting there for more than an hour but Scott didn't call me.

Curious, I unlocked the door and tiptoed outside the bathroom. I frowned when I saw his room was empty. Where was he? I looked at the balcony but he was not there either. I stepped out, heading for the living room. He was not there either. I looked at my gown lying on the floor and his white shirt next to it.

"Scott," I called him and swallowed hard when I didn't get a response. My voice echoed in the entire hall. I felt no moment, and my chest tightened with fear. "Scott!" I walked into the kitchen, scanning my eyes around. Suddenly, my eyes caught sight of a small library next to the cellar. I could hear fire cracking and lights coming from it. With heavy steps, I walked up there only to find him in a chair. He was in front of the fireplace with a book on his chest. When I got closer to him I found he was asleep. He was half-naked, pressing a small book against his chest. The library was strangely comfortable and warm. There were a couple of bookcases stuffed with thick books. Scott liked to read, so he installed libraries everywhere he stayed. I carefully removed the book from his arms and covered his bare chest with a duvet. For a moment I considered removing it from his body but I didn't want him to fall ill because he was a compatible donor for my daughter.

Anyway, I didn't care whether he lived or died.

********

There was a noise that caused my eyes to fly open. I sat upright against the bed, looking around an unfamiliar place.

"Good morning," I heard a male voice say. When I looked at Scott with his breakfast tray in front of me, I was struck by a realization. Putting a tray in front of me, he said, "You've been tired all day and hungry. Have some breakfast." With my teeth clenched, I grabbed a glass of orange juice from the tray and threw it on his face. "Thanks for breakfast," I said with clenched teeth and climbed off the bed. The shock had frozen him in place.

Ignoring him I rushed out of the room searching for my cell phone but it was nowhere in sight. After examining every place I found it on the kitchen counter. I snatched it off and looked at the screen. A wave of guilt washed over me when I saw Conan's missed calls and texts. He left me a voicemail. Immediately I called him and he picked it up in one ring as if he had been waiting for me.

"Conan..." I said. "Colette! How is she?"

"She's fine," he replied sharply. "I have been calling you like crazy, Cami." There was a hint of bitterness in his voice.

"I'm sorry," I mumbled, glancing over my shoulder at Scott but he was not sitting on a bed. "I'll bring Scott in an hour."

"No, you don't need to..." He sighed. "He sent a compatible donor last night and the transplant process is underway."

I sighed and turned my head to see Scott who was walking out of his room and wiping his face. "Okay." I sighed. "And how are you?"

Conan stayed silent.

"I'm sorry, Conan. I...I just..."

"It was not your fault," he said, cutting me off. His voice was not convincing. He was hurt. "I'll talk to you later, Camille. I need to check on Colette."

He didn't even ask me how I was doing and hung up.

"How is your daughter?" Scott asked behind me, and my grip tightened around the phone. It made me want to kill him for what he did to us. He was messing with us. There was a crack in our relationship because of him. "Does it matter?" I gritted my teeth, grabbing my gown off the floor. "All you care about is fucking."

"All right, we're heading to the hospital to check on her," Scott said, disappearing into his room. I frowned and looked down at myself. I was just in a robe. Are we going to the hospital in this robe or would I have to wear his clothes? "Damn Scott!" I hissed out.

"Hey, Cara." Someone chirped out from behind me. I spun around to see Rika. She was standing there with a wide smile on her face. I saw a couple of shopping bags in her hands. "I've brought your clothes." She walked up to me and explained when she caught confusion on my face, "Scott asked to buy you clothes as you came straight to his place." She eyed me from head to toe. "Well, you don't look that terrible in this robe either." Without uttering a word I snatched the bag from her hand. "Thanks."

She frowned at my cold tone but said nothing. She entered the kitchen and poured herself a glass of milk.

"Are you living with him?" I asked and she shot her gaze at me.

"Excuse me?" she blurted in confusion.

"I thought you were also living with him."

"I live here, but not with him," she corrected me. "But I don't mind if he lets me." She laughed sarcastically and I rolled my eyes. "So Cara Davidson or Camille Davidson, whatever you would prefer me to call you."

"I'd appreciate it if you called me Miss Davidson." I snapped but regretted it later when I saw her hurt face. Shit! I was even messing with my best friend. I cleared my throat, "I'm sorry for being rude."

"That's fine." She forced a smile and headed to Scott's room.

My brows snapped together when she entered his room and closed the door. "What the hell is this?" I was puzzled. Instead, I stepped into another room, took a shower, and changed my clothes. Rika bought me a floral dress with a sweetheart neckline. I pulled my hair into a loose bun and walked out.

"You should have seen his face..." Rika stopped talking when she saw me. Scott was standing next to her, smiling, but his smile faded and he shifted to a serious expression.

I didn't like how close those two looked to each other. Rika betrayed me and took my enemy's side, despite knowing what he did to me. I didn't know I had started resenting them both.

"Umm..." Rika interrupted while getting off the counter. "Shall we go?"

"Are you coming with us?" I asked.

She glanced briefly at Scott. "If you don't mind."

"You can come with us, Rika," Scott said and didn't give me a chance to speak.
