Chapter 64
Camille POV.
I closed my eyes when Colette entered my office. I plastered a smile though my insides were shaking. What if Scott recognizes his daughter? A shiver passed down my spine when I glanced at Scott. He was staring at me with a calm and composed expression as if he knew everything about me. Didn't he feel shocked to see Colette? Why was he so silent and controlled? Why didn't he show some emotion? That Scott looked even more dangerous to me. "Who is she?" The director asked with a smile.
"She is my daughter," I replied. My voice was surprisingly stiff.
"Jesus Christ, do you have a daughter?" The old man blurted out in shock.
"Yeah..." I got up from my seat, sauntered to Colette, and kneeled to reach her small height, whispering, "What are you doing here, honey? Didn't your dad tell you mum was busy?"
"I just want to meet him." She grinned while pointing to Scott and my chest tightened with terror.
"You should not have been here, Col," I gritted my teeth out, which made her eyes wide in surprise. I had never gotten angry at my daughter.
"Does this make you mad, mum?" Her voice trembled as she tried to shake herself away from my grip. I quickly drew my hand when I found my fingerprints on her pale skin. Oh my God, I didn't even realize when my grip tightened around her arm. My heart wrenched when fat tears fell from her huge eyes. "You church me," she said quietly.
"Col, I am sorry, honey. Your mum..." I was about to pull her into a hug but her body pulled away from me when Scott carried her in his arms.
"Your daughter is so adorable." Scott smiled while wiping her tears with his thumb.
Clenching my jaw I rose and glared at him. My insides twitched when he brushed her hair off her face and pinched her nose playfully. Colette broke into a giggle, though tears were still falling from her eyes. I glanced at the director and forced a smile. I should keep my cool otherwise I would lose this game.
"What are you doing with my mommy?" Colette asked and glanced in my direction.
"Umm..." Scott looked at me and my heart skipped a beat. I did not understand why my heart fluttered whenever he looked at me. I knew I hated that man fiercely but still, my heart betrayed me. My breath caught when Scott's eyes swept over my body. I pulled the hem of my dress uncomfortably when his eyes paused on my legs. "I'm a big fan of your mother."
I breathed shakily as I desperately wanted to disappear.
"Do you like my mother?" Col asked and I let out an annoyed sigh.
"You have no idea how much I like her," Scott whispered, giving me a knowing look. I gritted my teeth, seething at him.
"Are we going to discuss our project or are you gonna play with this small thing?" Director asked Scott and I got a chance to snatch Col from him and send her away.
"So deal..." After two hours of discussion, we came to terms and closed the deal.
"Deal," Scott said curtly and extended his hand for a handshake. Ignoring his gesture I turned to the director and smiled at him. "I'm looking forward to working with you, Mr. Jackson. I've heard a lot about you."
I adjusted my cardigan and glanced at Scott whose expression was blank as he scanned a file. He didn't look hurt though. I was relieved when Colette answered Hailey's call on time. If she spent a few more minutes with Scott I probably would end up killing him. I didn't like him being around my daughter. He didn't deserve her and I would never tell him she was his blood.
Worry snaked through me when Jackson stood up from his seat but Scott didn't budge from his spot and remained rooted.
"So we must leave now," Mr. Jackson said with a polite smile and looked at Scott.
"I'll come later. I need to talk to Miss Davidson."
"No!" I blurted out but regretted it when I noticed Jackson's surprised expression. "I mean I have some urgent meetings in a few minutes."
"I'll wait, Miss Davidson." A strange smile appeared on Scott's face as he scanned my expression.
"As far as I recall, Mr. Martinez, you have a flight in an hour." The director said, glancing between us. "Is it of concern to you?"
"It's not your damn business whether it's important to me or not, Mr. Jackson," Scott said, gritting his teeth. "I'm canceling my flight."
"Well, this is what you want. I'm fine with it." Jackson grabbed his briefcase and left me with a monster.
I felt a cold sweat break the back of my neck as my body started to shake. Swallowing hard, I gathered my things and said, "I've gotta go. You can wait until I get free from my work." My voice was slightly husky due to raspy breathing. Suddenly it became difficult to breathe under his intense scrutiny. I could feel his eyes on my body as he sat comfortably on a chair.
I hate him!
I hate him so much that I want to kill him!

"Goodbye, Mr. Martinez." I grabbed my purse and walked out of the room. Pressing myself against the wall I slammed my hand on my heart, feeling my thundering heartbeat. I breathed and breathed and breathed until my body relaxed. I could still feel his intense gaze caressing my face, neck, and arms. "What the heck was that?" I gasped, shaking my head.
"Scott Martinez is here, can you believe it?" I heard whispers from my female employees as they broke into giggles. My jaw flexed. I snapped my head at the door of my office and glared at it as if it was Scott's shit face.
I closed my eyes and his face flashed in my head. With his cold and dark exterior, he looked even hotter. It was difficult to miss how he stood out at the party. Everyone watched him like he was the apple of their eyes. I didn't understand why people admired him so much, what was so special about that bastard. If the world could know what he actually did to me.
"What happened to you?" I heard Conan's voice from the hallway as he was walking over to me. "You seem like you have just come off a rollercoaster. Look at your face, Cami."
"He is giving me creeps." I snorted and moved into the elevator. "I hate him."
"I know you hate him." There was a clip in Conan's voice as he gazed at me. "Did he hurt you?"
"No, but his face alone hurts me." I gritted my teeth in irritation.
"You need to calm down, Cami." Conan stepped up to me and gently stroked my face. His warmth seeped through me and soothed my disturbing nerves. "We're gonna destroy him together."
"Yes, we're about to destroy him." I nodded my head like a maniac as tears gathered in my eyes. "I want nothing more than to see him die. I hate him! I hate him, Conan! I hate him so much..." Grabbing Conan's shirt I buried my face in his chest. A moment later his warm hand soothed my back gently.
"I'm here, Cami," he whispered and kissed my hairline. "I'll always be there for you."
Suddenly the elevator ding opened and we paused as our eyes darted to Rika who was standing just outside with a mixed expression on her face. I couldn't miss the way her eyes took in our closeness. Conan retreated from me and I frowned at his action. He was behaving like he had been caught cheating.
"Um..." Rika mumbled uncomfortably, looking between us. She looked cute in her denim dress and white Snickers. Bubble gum bubbled in her mouth but it blasted the moment Conan stepped out of the elevator and Rika jumped away from him like a frog. "I'm sorry, I guess I lost my track," she said robotically and turned around, completely ignoring Conan behind her who was blowing his breath out like an angry bull.
"Where do you think you're going?" Conan shot out his hand and grasped her forearm, making her body jerk backward.
"What are you doing, sir?" Rika said angrily, trying to break his grip on her arm. "Do I know you?" she made an innocent face, which forced a smile on my face. I have known this drama queen for so long and how she tricked people. Anyone could fall for her Barbie-like face and sultry body.
"But I know you, honey." Conan snarled, dragging her away down the hallway. I rushed out after them but stopped when Rika's betrayal hit me. She betrayed him and she deserved little punishment. At least Conan was not as cruel as Scott Martinez.

Scott must have left my office by that time, so I walked into my office at nine o'clock at night. My legs froze when I saw him lying on the same seat he had been sitting on, but his suit jacket was ripped and his tie loosened. His head hung on the seat and his eyes were closed. Was he sleeping?
Breathing deeply I walked around my table and grabbed my laptop. I never thought he would spend eight hours in my office. While looking at his face I waited for pity to come but it didn't happen. I had no sympathy left for that man at all. My eyes slid down to his opened shirt, I could see his golden impressive skin. My gaze slowly drifted to his impressively muscular body as I bit into my lower lip. He seemed like he had gained weight in these four years because his biceps were thicker than before and his shoulders were broader. I had seen his half-naked body in his superhit movie Blue Dragons, he looked like a Greek God with his eight packs.
"How was your meeting?" I was startled when his voice suddenly rang in my ears. Embarrassed, I met his gaze and a smirk appeared on his face like he caught me checking him out.
"It was okay." I cleared my throat. My fingers were fidgeting as I was pressing my laptop against my chest.
My heart skipped a beat when he pushed the chair back and stood up. Taller and broader and darker. And I was wondering how he could have a huge fan. He didn't have only a beautiful face, but a powerful body and marvelous acting skills. "We can talk tomorrow since I'm closing my office."
"I won't take long..." he whispered in his deep voice, heading toward me.
Absent-mindedly, I stepped back when he was a few inches away from me. His heat evaded my personal space. Everything about him was hot. His eyes, his breath, and his skin. I wished the ground swallowed me deep down so that I didn't have to confront him.
I hate him! I closed my eyes, sighing helplessly.
"Who are you?" he asked, his warm breath blowing across my face.
"Excuse me?" I snapped, glaring at him fiercely.
"Who are you?" he asked more calmly than before, examining my face. His eyes made my breath hitch.
I inhaled deeply before gazing into his eyes. "Cara Davidson." I spat into his face and stopped stepping back.
He erased a small distance between us and hovered over me. My eyes looked straight at his undone buttons.
"This is not an answer to my question, Cam."
And my knees buckled and I was about to fall on my knees but Scott wrapped his muscular arm around my waist and pulled me into his chest tightly.
