Council of elders part 2

The council members continue to stare sizing me up, some ask questions, some just stare at me blankly, no doubt trying to figure out whether they trust me or Argon.

One of the elders kindly asked me to leave the room to find my mates while they had a discussion and they would call me back in when they were ready.

I walk out into the waiting area, Ajax and Aries jump up, using their speed they are by my sides in seconds looking me over, looking from me to Bear.

“So how did it go?” Jas asks nervously.

“No idea.” Bear replies, “It was hilarious though.” He laughs a deep rumbling laugh making me smile.

Bear tells everyone what happened quite animatedly considering his face usually says absolutely nothing, the guys have looks of shock, amusement and disgust by the end of the recap.

“So Argon is trying to sell his own story so he can come out of hiding huh? I’d like to get my hands on him.” Aries growls out.

Ajax grins at Aries and I know they have a silent conversation I’m just not sure what about.

Aries snakes his arm around my waist and pulls me in to his side kissing me on the cheek as the door to the room the elders are still in creeps open.

“Miss Cardle, we will see you now.”

We re-enter the room, everyone joining us again at the oval table. An elder stands up and introduces himself as Thomas. He asks me a few questions about High Moon’s treaties, allies, financial situation and more. Now they’re testing my pack knowledge to see if I’d be a suitable Luna, not just in strength but also strategy.

“Miss Cardle, we were apprehensive at first of a young human and newly turned wolf being a Luna of a pack. As you know, being Luna is no small duty. We were then worried about the threat you seem to be currently under coming in the way of your duties and judgement. From what we have seen Miss Cardle, you are a strong young woman and have the ability to only become stronger, we believe the three of you together will do great things, we are all in agreement that you will make a fine Luna and we will continue to search for Argon to bring justice for your torment.” Thomas finishes.

We all shake hands with the elders and head back to the pack house to celebrate, we decide we will spend the night there having a family meal to celebrate and listen to jas flapping now she has to plan a whole Luna ceremony, I would offer to help her but I know she is in her element when she has an event to plan and I have far too much school work to do.

After hours of eating and drinking prosecco Ajax looks to me with a lopsided grin, “Hey baby, I’m drunk wanna take advantage?” He says and I laugh out loud at him. “Ajax behave yourself.” I say giggling my cheeks bright red incase any of the family heard him. I look over to Luna Jas and Alpha Joseph, they’re looking lovingly in to each others eyes lost in conversation and I hope my love still burns so bright with the twins at that age.

“My love, shall we retire to bed? It’s late and we will need to head back to school tomorrow.” Aries says I nod to him and place a kiss on his lips, turning to Ajax I tug his arm and tell him we’re heading up. We say our goodnights as everyone else follows our lead to call it a night. Jas kisses each of us on the cheek as Joseph shakes the twins hands and places a soft kiss on my forehead.

I feel complete, like I finally have a family. I really just need to speak to my grandparents and let them into my new world and hope they accept me and my mates.
