Her Undeniable Temptation

Thursday morning came and Zoe was all set and ready to go to school and expose Bella’s plans to Alex when she realized that she was actually pretty sick. Her stomach hurt badly as her head was pounding hard. She was also coughing hard like someone who was being choked by the throat! Zoe felt like total crap.

She decided to stay back home and go back to bed after taking some cough antidote. Luke had checked up on her before going to school, he said he hoped she would feel better later and he was going to miss her absent from school today.

Dora and Bella texted her. She replied to Dora but as for Bella! Zoe felt guilty about what she was planning on saying to Alex so she just ignored her.

Zoe lay in bed all day. She took a shower and then went back to sleep for the night. A wasted day but she totally needed the sleep she had. Zoe had one day until Bella made her move on Alex.

Zoe knew she should stay out of it and it totally wasn’t any of her business about what they did together but she just couldn’t overlook this. Not them sleeping together, Friday morning, and Zoe still felt sick but she nonetheless went to school.

She got to school and waited near her locker for any sign of Alex. She usually sees him in the hallway before class, maybe today she had no luck! Zoe could have called or texted him. Maybe Zoe felt this was something she should tell him in person.

She wasn’t thinking about how awkward it would be for her to tell him. “Oh, Bella wants to have s-x with you! Please don’t.” Yeah, maybe she would come up with something much clever than that. She waited throughout the day waiting for Alex. Zoe was starting to get furious when she went for lunch and he was still not around.

She sat down at their table. “Hey, Bent! Where is Alex?” Did she ask in her most normal voice? “Oh, apparently he is home sick with the same crap you had! A bunch of kids are out sick already.” Bella explained.

Zoe felt deflated. She was running out of the chance to talk to him. The usual happiness she had on Friday was totally ruined by this, on Saturday Bella was going to do some crazy shit with Alex! Zoe ended up giving her lunch to Luke and skipping the rest of the school day.

Immediately Zoe got home and called Alex. She had to go to her shift at the bakery but she thought she could get him to meet her at the bakery so she could just tell him.

It wasn’t nice to make him come all the way to the bakery just to talk to her. He is sick and Zoe knew she was an awful and selfish person.

Zoe knew she got work but she still wished she could just go home. Thank God the weekend is here, plenty of time to sleep and recover! Right? She was at the counter selling cake to a customer when Alex walked inside the bakery, he didn’t look sick so it basically eased her guilt.

“Hey,” Alex said as she took a deep breath. “Hey, Lex! I thought you were sick?” Zoe said and he shrugged. “Not really, I don’t really want to go to school.” He said and she glanced at his face and noticed he was smiling slightly.

He was wearing a pair of silver studs on his lips and snow prickled on his hair. Zoe examined his face closer than she possibly should have, he seemed like he was exhausted from walking from his car to the store which worried her.

“Are you sure you are okay?” She asked but Alex dismissively waved his hands. “What did you want to talk about so badly?” He asked. She was ticked that he ignored her question but she got over it and spoke. “Uhm, actually it is about Bella.” She said and hesitated a bit.

He raised an eyebrow. “What about her?” Alex asked, staring at her closely, “well she-” Zoe tried to say but Alex caught her shut. “Hold on for a second! Is this about us dating again? I thought you said it was fine with you” Alex said, making Zoe bit her lips.

How was she supposed to vault this on him? “I…I’m, it’s just” she tried saying. “I know it’s uncomfortable for you to see us being so close and stuff but if you are jealous.” Alex kept saying.

“Okay, first of all! Stop freaking interrupting me.” Zoe said angrily. He closed his mouth and stood to stare at her. “Sorry I raised my voice, you were interrupting me quite a bit,” Zoe said, making him roll his eyes.

“And secondly, I have said this before and I would say it again, I’m not jealous.” She lied distinctly. “Alright Zoe, fine you are not jealous and I’m sorry for interrupting you, it won’t happen anymore,” Alex said rather formally.

“Good!” She mumbled.

“Now what did you want to tell me about Bella?” Alex asked, making her stare at the counter considering whether to go on or not! A few silents went before he sighed.

“You can’t tell me, Zoe, fine,” Alex said, staring at her. Her eyes met his stare and felt the usual butterflies and more. Zoe felt like stopping him from being with Bella like it was the end of the world, he must have noticed something on her face cause his eyebrows slowly raised again.

“Alex__ she said she is in love with you,” Zoe muttered. She didn’t know why that came out instead of the initial thing she wanted to say, maybe in her mind, she was desperate to know if Alex shared the same feeling with Bella.

He looked generally surprised.

“Really?” he asked, making Zoe nod. “Huh, but we barely even dated and she is already in love with me? Wow, she is really fast.” Alex said and gave a slight chuckle. “Bella doesn’t usually act fast, maybe it’s because you are amazing.” Zoe wanted to say but just couldn’t.

“Okay, if that’s all I have to get going,” Alex said, turning towards the front door. “She is planning on losing her virginity to you tomorrow.” Zoe foolishly blurted out, Alex stopped and turned back to look at her.

I guess the love thing must have surprised him but she could tell this generally shocked him. “Are you kidding me?” He asked and Zoe shook her head! She knew her cheeks were red for blurting something like that.

“Oh well, but she and I___” Alex seemed to be at a loss at the word to say. She was actually really surprised that he wasn’t pleased that a pretty girl and hot girl like Bella wanted to sleep with him, maybe he was different.

Oh, what are we thinking? All boys just want to get into your pants, that’s it. “How do you know about this?” Alex asked, walking over to where Zoe stood at the counter making her shrug, “We are friends, so she obviously told me.” Zoe said and he g*****d.

“Come on, do girls just tell their best friends and close pals everything?” He asked exasperated. “Uhm, well pretty much,” Zoe said and he sighed and thought for a bit. “Wait, if she told you! Did she want you to tell me then?” Alex asked, sounding confused.

Well here it is, it was obvious that she had gone across her friend to destroy her plan because she was so selfish and insensitive! God.
