Chapter 52~ Fishing for information
Earlier, Jason watched Lora go upstairs, his eyebrows creasing in deep thought.
He was quite sure Ryan had given Lora the dress she was wearing... this was because a famous fashion designer had auctioned off one of her best designs a few days back and a mysterious businessman had bought it at a very high price. Jason had been interested in the dress and wanted to get it for Lora, however, the mysterious businessman kept bidding higher than him and he ended up giving up the dress.
After all, he thought it wasn't worth it to pay two million dollars for a mere dress.
To his shock, Lora ended up wearing the dress and knowing her, there was no way she would spend so much money to buy a dress.
It could only be Ryan...
Jealousy flared through Jason and he clenched his hand around the steering wheel, turning his knuckles white.
Why would Ryan spend such an amount on Lora when they had just met? He could have bought that dress for his fiancee...
Jason had noticed that Ryan paid too much attention to Lora and he seemed to get jealous each time he saw them together. On the other hand, Lora seemed to be purposely avoiding Ryan. She also seemed to hate him for some reason.
Jason's frown deepened as he thought, 'Could Lora and Ryan have known each other before?'
That was the only explanation for Ryan and Lora's actions.
Jason knew Lora wasn't in love with him, but since she was willing to date him, it meant she was willing to try and fall in love with him.
However, he had a hunch that he couldn't fully grasp her heart if he didn't deal with her relationship with Ryan.
There was something going on and he needed to find out what.
He took out a phone and called someone, asking, "How far with what I asked you?"
"Boss, it's hard to find out things about Ryan Kingsley. No one is willing to speak," the person answered on the phone. Jason clenched his jaw. He ordered, "I want you to investigate if Ryan had anything to do with Lora Davis in the past." "Ok, boss... although I found out something, I don't know if it's something you wish to know," the man said on the phone.
"What is it? Speak. I told you I wanted to know everything about Ryan Kingsley," Jason ordered.
"His wife died... he didn't divorce her for Ivy Williams. That's all I know for now," the man reported.
Jason furrowed his eyebrows. He instructed, "Find out who his wife was."
...
On the other hand, Bianca chugged down her umpteenth bottle of beer. She hiccupped and glanced at the man seated next to her before slurring, "M-O-R-E.... I want more." Adan chuckled, holding Bianca's wrist when she reached for another beer bottle. He said, "You've had enough. You're drunk."
"I'm not drunk!" Bianca stated, pouting.
The two of them had gone to the club after leaving the party to have a few drinks and Bianca ended up drinking more than she could handle.
Adan studied Bianca. He leaned in close and asked in a low voice, "Bianca, that friend of yours, how long have you known her?"
Bianca squinted her eyes at Adan. She pointed at him and said, "Why are you asking again? I already told you."
Adan frowned and said in his mind, 'Isn't she drunk? How is she able to remember everything?'
Fishing for information was harder than he thought... Bianca seemed to be guarded against him despite her drunken state.
He smiled and replied, "I know... I just want to know more about her. You two seem close for someone you just met recently. It's almost as if you've known each other your whole lives."
Bianca glanced at Adan and narrowed her eyes. She laughed and said, "I see... you've fallen for her too, right?"
"No... she's not my type," Adan grinned. He grabbed Bianca's chin and raised her head. "I'm just curious."
Bianca stared into Adan's eyes. She could telkthat he was trying to get information from her about Lora. Did he purposely make her drunk fo make her spill her friend's secret?
"You-Argh," Bianca groaned and ended up vomiting on Adan's shirt.
"Fuck," Adan cussed, wrinkling his nose as Bianca continued to vomit on him.
"Sorry- Argh!" Bianca vomited again and this time, Adan felt frustrated. He was now covered in vomit and smelling of beer.
'The things I would do for a friend...' he said in his mind before taking off his shirt.
He carried Bianca who seemed to have passed out and took her to his penthouse.
Since he didn't know where she
stayed, he decided to let her sleep at his house. He placed her in his bed, his eyes falling on the phone that he
had carried for her.
A thought occurred to him and he took advantage of Bianca's drunkenness to install a spy app on Bianca's phone.
Looking at her, he whispered, "I'm sorry but I have no choice. This is the only way I can help my friend. I need to find out who Lora really is."
He smiled when the spy app was successfully installed on Bianca's phone. This way, he would receive every message that Bianca would receive.
The next morning, Bianca opened her eyes and a splitting headache hit her from nowhere. She groaned, closing her eyes and massaging her temples. "Ah... I feel sick. I'll never take alcohol again," she groaned.
"That's what they all say," a deep voice resonated in the room, causing Bianca to spring up from the bed.
Her eyes widened when she saw Adan in nothing but a white robe. She looked around and realised she was in a different room.
Her heart raced when she realised she was in Adan's bed. Did something happen between them last night?
Her mind reeled with several thoughts.
"How dare you? How could you sleep with me in my drunken state?" She yelled at Adan, looking at him accusingly.
Adan glanced at Bianca, feeling amused that she thought they slept together. Couldn't she tell?
He chuckled but he didn't correct her, letting her believe that something had happened between them. Things were getting interesting...
