Her Return, His Regret

Chapter 12~ To celebrate

Chapter 12- To celebrate

"How did you know about this place? Aren't you new in this city?" Lora looked around the fancy restaurant and asked.

Jason smiled.

"I asked around about the best place to bring a beautiful lady on a date," he remarked.

Lora froze and her eyes slightly widened.

When Jason saw her expression, he laughed heartily. He said, "Look at your expression. I'm just joking. I wanted to bring you here to celebrate your first partnership."

Lora came back to her senses after Jason clarified. She secretly let out a sigh of relief and replied, "Thank you, Jay. You're always good to me... whether it's out of the country or here. I'm so grateful." "It's not for free... after this meal, you will owe me dinner too," Jason uttered.

Lora giggled. She shook her head before promising, "Of course, I'll treat you to dinner next time."

The restaurant had dim lighting with some soft music playing in the background, It was giving off a calm but romantic vibe which was somewhat relaxing.

As they continued to eat and chat, they had no idea of the menacing eyes that were glaring at them from behind.

At the same time, Ryan Kingsley coiled his hands into fists as a strange surge of jealousy rushed through him when he saw the two being all lovey-dovey in the restaurant.

Why?

Why was he getting worked up? Lora just looked like his wife. She wasn't her...

Ivy happened to see them too. She exclaimed, "Isn't that Miss Lora Davis? She's with that man again, are they dating?"

When there was no response from Ryan, Ivy looked back at Ryan and asked, "Ryan... do you want us to join them?"

Ryan furrowed his eyebrows. He shook his head and replied in annoyance, "No, I don't."

Ivy smiled happily as Ryan pushed her wheelchair to a different table. They ordered their food and she kept trying to chat with Ryan. However, she realised that his body was with her but his mind was somewhere else. When she looked at him, she saw him looking at Lora and Jason's table. He wasn't even paying attention to his food.

A flash of anger flickered through Ivy's eyes. 'Lora has another man but she's still stealing Ryan's

attention!"

"Ryan, is the food not to your taste?" lyy asked to get his attention.

Ryan didn't even look back at her when he replied, "It's fine."

He kept looking at Lora's table. She had smeared some sauce on her lips and Jason stretched his hand to wipe her lips.

The move looked intimate and it made them look like a romantic couple.

Ryan's eyes turned cold. Without sparing Ivy another glance, he got to his feet and approached the table.

"Miss Lora, fancy seeing you here," Ryan remarked.

Lora and Jason had been having a good time when they heard Ryan's voice.

Lora looked at Ryan and forced a smile before saying, "Good evening, Mr Kingsley."

"I thought you said you didn't want to have dinner?" Ryan asked her.

Lora arched an eyebrow. She responded, "I said I have plans, Mr Kingsley. Plans to have dinner with someone else..."

Someone else...

For some reason, those two words irked Ryan. He didn't even understand his own behavior. However, whenever he saw Lora Davis, something stirred within him and he didn't want to see her with another man. Ryan glanced at Jason and he frowned. The man looked familiar but Ryan couldn't wrap his head around where he had seen such a face.

He looked back at Lora and asked, "This is....?"

Lora frowned at Ryan. What was he up to? He was being too inquisitive.

She was about to reply when Ivy's voice reached their ears.

"Lora, it's good to see you here," Ivy said after wheeling herself to the table.

Lora's eyebrows creased. Ivy was acting like they were besties.

"Do I know you?" Lora asked.

"We met in Ryan's meeting room. I am sorry I didn't have a chance to introduce myself. I'm Ivy, Ryan's fiancée," Ivy said, flashing Lora a smile. However, there was nothing friendly about that smile and it gave Lora the chills.

Ivy grabbed Ryan's hand and said to Lora, "Thank you for partnering with Ryan. He knows I love design and created a company for me..." "Ivy-" Ryan scolded.

"Oops, did I ruin the surprise?" Ivy covered her mouth and giggled.

"Sorry, Ryan. I'll keep my mouth shut,"

Ryan narrowed his eyes at Ivy. However, they were in public and he didn't see the need to correct her in front of Lora and Jason.

Lora glanced at them and sneered internally. 'So, he opened a jewelry store for the love of his life? How sweet.

"Is this your fiance, Lora? I saw you dance with him at your party," Ivy suddenly asked and Ryan turned to look at Lora. He also wanted to know their relationship) Silence fell over them. Ivy chuckled and said, "No? Are you dating then? You seem to be close, it kind of reminds me of my sweet relationship with Ryan."

Lora's face twitched. Before she could reply, Jason held her hand and brought it to his lips before giving it a kiss.

He then turned to look at Ryan and Ivy before asking, "Isn't it obvious?"

Ryan felt like his heart had been stabbed by a knife. He glared at Jason and the hand he was holding but he had to restrain himself from ripping them apart. "Miss Lora, I need to see a draft of your design within this week," Ryan ordered icily.

"Are you kidding me? A week? I need more time-"

"Then perhaps you should cut off unnecessary time-wasting programs and concentrate on designing. We have a contract," Ryan said through gritted teeth. With those words, he turned Ivy's wheelchair around and pushed her out of the restaurant.
