Chapter 70
Chapter 70
Daina sat at the bar, sipping on her drink and feeling a bit lonely. She had just moved back to base and she didn't want to think about how much she missed her new friends at the Maldives even though they called daily. Just as she was about to call it a night, a woman with bright pink hair and a mischievous glint in her eye approached her.
"Hey there," the woman said, taking a seat next to Daina. "I'm Lina. What's your name?"
Diana introduced herself and the two women struck up a conversation. It turned out that they had a lot in common, including a love for partying and a fierce commitment to feminism.
Lina told Diana about all the wild nights she had been on, from bar hopping and dancing until dawn to sleeping around with whoever she pleased. Diana was intrigued by Lina's bold attitude and admired her independence. As the night went on, Diana found herself opening up to Lina about her own feminist beliefs.
She told her about how she was planning to organize a protest against a sexist company. Lina was impressed and the two women bonded over their shared values.
Before they knew it, the sun was coming up and they had been talking and laughing for hours.
Diana was amazed at how quickly she and Lina had become inseparable. They exchanged numbers and made plans to go out partying together the following weekend.
Daian smiled as she unlocked her car to go home. Her eyes rested on Lina's phone number and her smile grew wider. "This will be fun!"
Over the next few weeks, Diana and Lina became the best of friends, always pushing each other to be their best selves and stand up for their beliefs.
They hit up all the hottest clubs in the city, slept with whomever they pleased, and always stood up for women's rights. Diana had never felt so alive and empowered, and she knew it was all thanks to Lina's influence.
As the months passed, Diana and Lina's bond only grew stronger. They were always there for each other, no matter what wild idea the other came up with.
Diana knew that she had found a true friend in Lina, someone who understood and accepted her for who she was, a die-hard feminist.
One day, as they were stumbling home after a particularly wild night out, Lina turned to Diana and said, "You know, I've never met anyone like you before. You're so passionate and committed to making the world a better place for women. I think that's why we get along so well."
Diana smiled and replied, "I feel the same way about you, Lina. You've shown me that it's okay to let go and live life on your own terms. I don't think I could have survived this city without you by my side."

"You talked about organizing a protest against a sexist company on the day we met... are you still doing that?" Lina asked out of the blue one night and Diana was thrown off balance.
They had just returned from shopping for a party happening by the weekend. Diana knew she hadn't started making deliberate preparations, although she had talked like that's all she thought of the day they had met. "Yesssss.." she trailed off, short of words. Lina watched her carefully before shoving a book into her hands. Diana's eyes widened as she recognized the book.
"You had written to have that event by next month which is in a week's time but you don't seem like a person who's ready for it. You have me here and all we do together is party?" Lina paused, trying to decipher the expression on Diana's face. "What's wrong?" Lina asked in concern.
"I... I... I am scared, okay?" Diana raised her both hands in the air and allowed them to fall freely before she went to sit at her dinning, sulking.
"Of what? Talk to me, darling". Lina's pretty face crumbled in concern.
"We sleep with at least 10 different men a week for no pay. And then do you think that, if we try to do something like this, we might be attacked? How are we disdaining men when we can't stay without one for our pussy's sake?" Diana explained, visibly frustrated.
Lina chuckled," if I'm getting you right, you're not only bothered about what people will say but also getting the wrong conception about feminism." Lina paused and took some seconds to twirl her hair. A habit that Diana found cute. "Feminism is a social, political, and cultural movement that seeks to advance the rights and status of women. The history of feminism is long and varied, with the modern feminist movement being the latest wave of feminism." Lina took some seconds to drink water.
"Feminism has its roots in the struggles for women's suffrage and the right to vote, which took place in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. During this time, women in many countries around the world organized and protested to demand equal rights and opportunities." Lina explained calmly, her eyes not leaving Diana's.
"Every true feminist should know that we are only about fighting for women's rights and not about having on men or anything of that sort. So, don't let social media confuse you. Feminism is that you and I be able to walk freely and work for ourselves, if not we should have been married off to some man for child bearing and pleasure." Lina faked a barf after ending the statement.
She sashayed around to a point in the sitting room like she was on a runway. " All in all, we are holding the protest, and that is final." She chuckled at Diana's facial expression.
"Now, now, let's go prepare some good fun after a long and educative talk". She joked, pulling Diana into the kitchen.
