Her Mythical Warriors (Book Two)

Chapter Chapter Twenty-One: Moo-Me Over

“They’ve been gone a while,” Jules said as she helped Malique start a fire to cook their lunch.

“I think Darius was a little jealous he wasn’t included in our water polo,” Wolfric chuckled.

“What do you think he’s doing to her?” Zelious asked.

Wolfric grinned, “probably the same thing we did.”

“Here they come,” Stella said, running into the camp.

“Were you spying?” Jules asked, looking at the troll.

Stella shook her head, “me and Fin were standing guard, and we saw them headed our way.”

“Is he in human form or still a Pegasus?” Zelious asked.

“Human,” Stella said, then took off to rejoin her brother.

“You don’t think he….” Wolfric couldn’t finish. He couldn’t think of it.

“What’s so wrong if he did?” Zelious asked. “Was it so bad when I fucked her as a merman?”

“That’s different,” Wolfric grunted.

“How is it different?” Zelious asked, eying Wolfric.

Wolfric shook his head. He didn’t know how it was different. Maybe because Zelious is still human-ish… it would be like if he’d fucked her as his wolf…

“Wolfie!” Akira shouted as she and Darius walked into the camp.

Wolfric turned and caught his Psychi in his arms; he held her and breathed in her scent. She smelled like dirt and… sex.

“Are you okay?” Wolfric asked, holding her back so he could look into her face.

She grinned up at him, “I am wonderful.”

Wolfric shook his head and looked at Darius. He had a grin that told Wolfric they’d done something special. Something… something Wolfric really didn’t want to think about.

“Lunch is ready,” Malique announced.

“Let’s eat so we can be on our way,” Wolfric said, looking down at Akira.

Akira nodded, “I’m starving.”

Darius moved up behind Akira and pressed himself to her back. Wolfric watched their Havent shiver as the Pegasus whispered into her ear.

“After what you’ve done today, I’m not surprised you’re hungry.”

Wolfric rolled his eyes. Leave it to a demigod to be so corny.

“Trees, trees, trees,” Darius complained as they walked through the woods.

“At least it’s not as thick as the others were,” Zelious exclaimed.

Akira looked at her warriors and chuckled. “Babies.”

Both warriors turned to Akira.

“What did you call us?” Darius asked, eyeing her.

Akira smirked and said, “babies. I said you two are a couple of babies.”

Darius moved so fast that Akira squealed with surprise when he lifted her and tossed her over his shoulder.

“Put me down,” Akira laughed.

“Not until you take back what you said,” Darius said as he continued through the woods.

“No,” she chuckled, slapping his ass as he walked.

He shook her, and she squealed. Her stomach felt like it was on fire.

“Put me down!” she almost screamed.

Darius stopped and set her on her feet.

Akira rushed away from the others. She leaned against a tree and vomited everything she had eaten in the past two days.

“Akira!” everyone shouted.

“Is she sick?” Jules asked, panic in her voice.

Wolfric placed his hand to Akira’s forehead. “She doesn’t have a fever.”

Akira pushed Wolfric away. “I’m not sick.” She looked at the others and sighed. “Just jostled. I’m fine, I promise.”

“No more tossing Akira on our shoulders and running off with her,” Wolfric growled.

The others nodded.

“Come on,” Wolfric took Akira’s hand and led her back to the path they were following.

“I’m sorry,” Darius said, coming up beside Akira.

Akira nudged him with her shoulder. “It’s okay.”

“Are you sure you’re okay?” Zelious asked.

Akira looked up at her merman and nodded. He was in front of them, walking backward, watching her.

He held a canister out to her. “Here.”

She took it from him and took a drink. It settled her stomach a little, but she still felt like she was going to barf again. She stopped, making the others stop with her, but nothing happened. She took a deep breath. Why was she feeling like this? Since she started this quest, she hasn’t been sick other than the fever. Why is she sick out of the blue? She didn’t even get motion sickness when they were on the ships.

Wolfric studied his Psychi. She didn’t look well. They need to get her to a proper doctor. But where were they going to find one?

“Are you okay, little one?” he asked.

She looked at him and nodded, “just a tummy ache. Probably from all this walking.”

Wolfric lifted her into his arms and held her close. “Sleep,” he whispered.

She looked up at him. “I’m okay.”

He nodded, “I know. Just listen to me for once, please.”

She sighed, “you know I listen to you… sometimes.”

He chuckled and kissed her forehead. “Not as much as we would like you to.”

She nodded and closed her eyes. Wolfric watched her drift off to sleep and looked up at his fellow warriors.

“Is she sick again?” Darius asked.

Wolfric shrugged. “I don’t know. She doesn’t have a fever. Maybe exhaustion has her not feeling well?”

“Possibly,” Zelious agreed.

“Let’s keep moving. Maybe we can find a town with a doctor,” Jules said.

“She’s not sick,” Stella said, looking up at her friend in the wolf’s arms.

Everyone looked down at her.

“She’s exhausted, and being shaken up made her nauseous, but she’ll be okay. We need to find her fifth warrior. That might help strengthen her.”

Wolfric nodded. The troll had a point. Finding her fifth warrior could very possibly be the answer to her exhaustion. Not that it will lessen their sex life, but it should give her more power to withstand more.

The group continued down the trail, a sleeping Akira tucked securely in Wolfric’s arms.

Laughter woke Akira. She stirred and opened her eyes. She was on the ground, tucked into one of the blankets. Her warriors and friends were gathered around the fire, talking and laughing. She started to sit up and fell back down, her head spinning.

“Are you okay?”

Akira looked up into Stella’s eyes. “I’m dizzy.”

Stella nodded and said, “you’ve been asleep all day.”

The troll helped Akira sit up. Akira leaned against the troll when the world tilted to the side.

“Akira?” Wolfric asked.

Akira looked up at her wolf and smiled. “Hi.”

Wolfric shook his head. “What’s going on?”

“The princess woke and felt dizzy. I’m helping her while her head regains gravity.”

Akira looked at the troll. Only about half of what she said made sense.

Wolfric grinned and sat at Akira’s other side. “As long as you slept, I’m not surprised you’re feeling dizzy.” He pulled her against him and held her.

“Is she okay?” Darius asked, standing before them.

Wolfric nodded and answered, “she’s fine.”

Darius sat on the ground facing them. “I’m sorry, little one. I didn’t mean to upset your stomach.”

Akira smiled at her Pegasus Warrior, “it’s okay. I’ve been tossed around, thrown over shoulders, and pushed through portals. I think I can handle being nauseous.”

They chuckled, and Wolfric kissed the top of her head.

Stella moved away from Akira and her warriors and walked over to Julianne. “Jules.”

Jules looked at her and frowned. “What is it? Is Akira okay?”

Stella nodded and answered, “she’s fine. But I think what we talked about last week is true.”

Jules looked over at Akira and her warriors. Stella did the same.

“We can’t tell her until we know for certain,” Jules said.

Stella nodded. “But how will we know?”

Jules chuckled, “the Gods will let us know.”

~⚔~

“Looks like all she needed was rest,” Darius chuckled as he watched Wolfric run around with Akira on his back, shouting, giddy up.

“In some ways, Akira is still that little girl Wolfric watched grow up,” Malique whispered.

“I wish we’d been able to be there for her when she needed us,” Zelious said with a deep frown.

“I don’t think that would change her connection to the wolf,” Malique said.

“Agreed,” the other two warriors said in unison.

“If we’d all been there when she was a child, her father wouldn’t have gotten away with what he did, and she wouldn’t have been lost for five years in the wilderness,” Stella said.

The warriors looked at the troll.

Stella shrugged, “if she hadn’t been lost and on her own, she wouldn’t be the woman we know now.”

The warriors looked at each other, then at Akira and Wolfric.

“She’s right,” Zelious said.

Darius nodded in agreement, “that she is. Our Haven’t wouldn’t be the strong warrior she grew up to be while surviving on her own, with only her ancestor for guidance.”

“Maybe we could have helped train her,” Fin suggested.

The others chuckled.

“It wouldn’t be the same,” Darius whispered.

“There’s a clearing up ahead!” Akira shouted from Wolfric’s back.

“See anything?!” Malique shouted back.

Akira held up a hand and shook her head. “Not yet!”

The group made their way through the trees. They stopped, and Wolfric set Akira on her feet as they stared at the scene before them.

A giant two-headed dog was barking and howling while over a dozen cows screamed. Akira had never heard cows scream before—she didn’t like the sound.

“Is that Orthrus?” Darius asked, watching the large two-headed dog swipe at a cow.

“Orthrus is dead,” Wolfric said.

“Do we protect the cows?” Stella asked.

“Why is the dog attacking the cows?” Jules asked.

“He’s not,” Akira whispered, squinting at something they hadn’t noticed when they first stepped out into the field.

One of the humongous dog’s heads snarled at something and bit down, picking up a cow by the color. He set the cow down away from the others and turned back to whatever was happening.

“Something is attacking the cows!” Akira shouted.

“Duh, the big ass dog….” Fin stopped talking when he saw something running out between the dog’s massive legs. “Troll!” he shouted.

“The Orthus is protecting the cows from the giant trolls!” Akira shouted as she took off toward the large dog to help.

“Akira! Get your ass back here!” Wolfric shouted.

“Can’t!” Akira called back. “We need to help Orthus!”

Without another thought, the warriors chased after their Havent, their friends close behind them.

“Giant trolls suck asses!” Fin shouted.

“Big gigantic asses that taste like shit!” Stella called back.

Julianne looked at the two trolls talking shit about the giant trolls. She could see now why they hated sharing the same name. These giant trolls were huge, ugly, and apparently evil.

“There are trolls distracting Orthus while other trolls take off with the cattle!” Akira shouted.

Jules fluttered into her fairy form and flew to where the two-headed dog was being distracted by giant trolls.

“I’ll help Akira and Orthus. You guys save the cattle!” Jules called out to the others.

Stella skidded to a stop and turned to a giant troll about to grab a cow. “I don’t think so!” she shouted at the ugly troll.

“Giant trolls are asshats who think they own everything!” Fin shouted.

Stella laughed. “Giant trolls are so ugly; their own mothers can’t stand to look at them!”

Fin laughed as he dodged a giant troll’s club. “Giant trolls are so dumb; they think milk comes from a cow’s butt.”

Stella bent over, laughing. She almost got smacked with a club.

“Stay focused, Sister!” Fin called out to her.

Stella rolled into a ball and knocked the giant troll, who almost hit her over. When she came back up, she stomped on the giant troll’s balls.

“Giant trolls are so hideous; they don’t own mirrors because they can’t stand to look at themselves.”

The giant troll groaned as he held his crotch. Stella pulled out her sword and stabbed the giant troll in the chest, killing him instantly.

“What are those two doing?” Wolfric asked, watching the trolls.

Malique chuckled. “Didn’t you know that trolls hate giant trolls?”

“I did,” Levi said, joining them. “Giant trolls have a horrible reputation, and the little trolls get bad-mouthed because they’re confused for the larger ones. Giant trolls would eat us over a barbeque pit, while our trolls would eat with us and travel to protect a young woman looking for her warriors.”

“Duck!” Wolfric shouted when a giant troll slung his club at the fairy.

Levi snapped into his fairy form and flew at the giant troll’s face.

Wolfric smirked as he stabbed the distracted giant troll in the gut.
