Chapter 258 Show Me
Of course, Dorothy's baby was important. If Dorothy can't hold her baby in her arms, how could she experience Sophia's suffering?
"Bye, Colin. Be careful on your way back." When Dorothy moved to walk Colin to the door, he refused.
After Colin left, Marcella and Dorothy beamed at each other. "Our time has finally come! My daughter will become a queen." Marcella said proudly.
"Mom, after I get married, I'll use things of the best quality. I'll enjoy the most delicious food. We should hire a Michelin-starred chef. I know you love French cuisine. I'll reserve all the tables in this restaurant, so you can enjoy your meals by yourself." Dorothy was quick to please her mother.
"Oh, my daughter, you're so kind to your mother."
After leaving the restaurant, Colin rubbed his grumbling stomach and called Sophia. "Where are you?"
"I'm cooking dinner at home." Sophia answered. Since it wasn't busy at the office, she went home early.
"Wait for me. I'm on my way." Hanging up the phone, he got into his Cayenne and told Aaron to take them home.
After the call, Sophia wondered if Colin meant he would come and have dinner with her.
It seemed that was the case. She decided to cook more dishes.
When Colin and Aaron entered the Lo House, Sophia had finished preparing dinner. "Wash your hands before eating."
"Okay." Aaron went to the toilet first.
Colin gathered Sophia in his arms and kissed her passionately.
Sophia was confused. What's going on? Why did Colin suddenly kiss her?
When the bathroom door opened, Sophia pushed Colin away. She blushed in embarrassment and didn't look at him. "Hurry up and wash your hands!" Smiling fondly, Colin went to the bathroom.
The three had a quiet dinner. Wiping his mouth, Aaron said, "I'm going out tonight. I'll leave you two alone to have fun."
Sophia glared at her brother fiercely. But Colin nodded in satisfaction. "If you need a place to stay, you can get a free room at the No. 8 Cruise Ship." "Thank you, brother." Aaron replied gratefully. He bid them goodbye and left.
Sophia cleaned the kitchen while Colin sat on the couch and watched Sophia's back, deep in thought.
Despite not knowing that Ambrose was her son, Sophia still loved him like her biological son.
And even though she didn't know the reason he was marrying Dorothy, she was good to him.
He made a decision to never disappoint Sophia in his life. "Sophia."
"Hmm, what's up?" Sophia turned around.
"I want to drink some water."
Sophia raised her hands covered in detergent. "Get it yourself. I'm busy. Unless you want a glass of detergent water?" Colin smiled.
"Are you thirsty? I can squeeze some fruit juice for you." He remembered that Sophia likes fresh fruit juice.
Sophia was confused. She shot Colin an odd look. Why was Colin doing this? Why was he suddenly attentive?
Before Sophia could shake her head, Colin stood up. He opened the refrigerator and took out three oranges. "Is orange juice alright?"
"Do you know how to make orange juice?" Sophia asked. She had never seen Colin do housework, much less squeeze orange juice.
Colin kissed her. "You can show me."
Sophia looked at him helplessly. She knew he didn't know how to do it! "Take a seat. After I wash the plates, I'll do it."
Colin took out the necessary tools and pecked her lips, shooting her a glance. "Don't look down on your man."
Sophia doubted that Colin would be good at housework. Rolling her eyes, she said, "You're amazing. After all, you're the CEO of a large corporation. Is there anything that you can't do? I shouldn't have questioned your ability."
Colin received Sophia's compliments proudly. "You're forgiven. Wait for me."
"You're so full of yourself!"
Sophia held back a smile and continued washing the plates.
A few minutes later, Colin took a glass of orange juice to Sophia while she was cleaning the table. "Try it."
Sophia looked at Colin as she sipped the juice. "It's delicious."
It was more than delicious, it was very sweet. It was perhaps the best orange juice that Sophia had ever had.
"Are you telling the truth?" Colin raised his eyebrows doubtfully.
Sophia nodded. "Very sweet."
"
Wrapping his arms around her waist, Colin lowered his head and gave her a deep kiss. A few minutes later, Colin released her and said seriously, "It's really sweet."
Sophia smiled and pushed him away gently. "Go away. I'm cleaning this table."
"Finish this glass of juice. I'll clean the table." Due to Colin's insistence, Sophia had to gulp down the juice.
While Sophia cleaned the rest of the kitchen, Colin prepared another glass of juice.
When she was done, he took her to the coat hanger and put a coat on her. "What's up? Where are we going?"
Colin said, "To take a walk."
This was truly unexpected. Sophia's eyes turned red. Was he being nice to her because she couldn't get pregnant in time to stop his wedding to Dorothy?
At nine o'clock, it was cold outside because of the winter season. There were no pedestrians walking on the streets.
Colin held Sophia in his arms. "Are you cold?"
"No. We just had dinner, and I'm wearing warm clothes."
"All right. Let's walk around."
"Okay." Wrapping her arms around Colin's waist, Sophia stood on her tiptoes and kissed his cheek.
She wished the happiness of this moment could last forever.
Her initiative made Colin smile. "Are you seducing me now?"
Feeling distressed, Sophia said, "I won't kiss you again." Sophia snorted in contempt.
Colin tightened his hold on her waist. "Don't stop, I like your initiative."
"Enough. Please don't embarrass me." She wanted to pull away, but Colin held onto her waist and kissed her hair.
They laughed cheerfully as they strolled around. After leaving the neighborhood, they walked to the river and followed it for a while before coming back home.
When Sophia got out of the bathroom, Colin was on the phone by the window. "That's good news. Don't worry about the money, finding a match is what matters. Alright. If you have other information, call me." Colin hung up the phone and turned around to find Sophia standing behind him. Sophia was looking at him in a daze. Colin embraced her. "What are you thinking of?"
Sophia hesitated to ask, "Are you in trouble?"
Colin was startled by Sophia's question. He shook his head. "No, I'm not. Where did this come from? There's a two-year-old girl suffering from uremia, and she needs a kidney. Wade called me to report that they've found her a donor."
A two-year-old girl? If Colin hadn't mentioned the girl, she would've forgotten the girl she saw.
Did Colin mean his daughter? The girl who called him dad?
At the thought, Sophia's hands started to tremble. How many secrets were Colin keeping from her? "Whose daughter is she?"
Colin didn't know what she was thinking about. He frowned and answered, "Maeve's daughter."
His response came as a great shock to Sophia. Her mind went blank. Ambrose was Colin's son with an unknown woman, and Colin also had a daughter with Maeve.
