Her King

Chapter 37

Regina’s POV

Crossing my arms over my chest, I stand beside Atlas as the Elders walk outside the building. Suddenly, my mind goes to those hunter kids.

“We are going to keep those hunter kids with us,” I inform them, Atlas’ face turns to me as confusion flickers in his eyes but he doesn’t question me.

I am not going to let those hunters go back into that hell, where they are forced to live. Earlier, they didn’t have a choice, but now they will have a choice to live their lives the way they want. They deserve a better life and I am going to make sure that they get that even if it means taking some more pathetic lives to grant them the freedom which is their right.

“You can keep them, they are useless as they are not fit to be hunters,” Edgar replies with scorn.

“We are taking them under our wing,” Atlas announces which makes Edgar scoffs as he mutters something about making with a human pet.

Quickly, almost everyone gets inside the car, probably eager to get away from us as soon as possible.

However, I glance at Piero, he gives me a curt nod understanding my silent order, and signals our men to shoot their cars tires, everyones but Ian’s, so that they can't get away from here.

“What the hell is going on?” Edgar fumes in anger when Piero tackles him to the ground and ties his hands behind his back. While others are already too shock to fight when they are dragged away from their cars, “You can’t do this to us, you can’t get back from your word.”

“Well, as far as I remember we have already kept our word.” I smirk while walking towards him, “Our promise was to let you all go outside this building, safe and sound, after you will hand us our kids, right?” Looking around, I eye everyone as I nod my head.

“Aren’t you outside the building?” I ask while glancing at the other Elders, as I jerk my thumb in the building's direction, “Untouched and unhurt?”

“But I have never said anything about not making you pay the price for hurting my people.” Raising my eyebrows, I shrug nonchalantly, “Since I have fulfilled my promised now you will have to bear the consequences of your sick intentions.”

“You know what you have to do.” I shift my gaze to Piero ignoring the curses which is being directed towards us.

I will let them speak all they want, because soon they will not be able to speak ever again.

“Yes, Miss.Michaels.” Piero nods his head as he harshly picks up Edgar and knocks him out in a single punch when he tries to fight against the restraints.

“I will meet you there,” I inform him while he throws Edgar roughly in the same cage in which those kids were held.

“Mr. Steele you are allowed to leave as I know you don’t have any hand in any of this.” I nod my head at Ian, “However, consider this as my warning because I will not treat you any differently if I find you are planning anything against my family.” I give him a stern look.

“Thank you, I will keep this in my mind.” He gives me a small smile then his eyes shift to Atlas. Giving him a polite nod, he leaves from there.

“Are we allowed to join in whatever you are planning to do?” Felix asks, looking curious and excited both at the same time.

“Of course.” I smile, “The more, the merrier.” Turn to look at Atlas who is shaking his head at me looking thoroughly amused.

Atlas POV

Since I have found Regina I think my life has become more interesting. She brought freshes to my otherwise dull life. After years of walking on this earth, things tend to become predictable and mundane. But when it comes to Regina she somehow makes everything so interesting.

Just like I never knew that I will be so curious to figure the meaning behind her secretive smile which is playing on her lips.

“We are here.” She announces as the car stops near an office, in front of which I find Marco standing with his guards.

“Gina, are you okay?” Marco pulls her into a hug as soon as we step outside the car, “I have heard those bastards tried to hurt you?” He nods his head in the direction of the office where probably those elders are taken.

“They planned to kill Atlas and his brothers, and even they kidnapped two children of someone close to him so that they can force him to give in their demands.” She briefly glances at me, then back at her uncle whose face is not giving away any emotion.

“Don’t worry, now we will teach them a good lesson that when you are fighting with someone... fight like a true fighter, and don’t bring someone’s family into your fight.” The subtle clench in his jaws is the only sign which shows his anger, but other than that his face remains impassive.

“Because of Gina, you are our family now.” He looks at me and places his hand on my shoulder, “Your enemies will be ours, and we don’t let our enemies walk on this earth for a long time specially when they tries to hurt our family."

Honestly, I never needed his or anyone else's acceptance, because I know Regina is mine. But even then, I have properly asked for Regina's hand from him because I knew how much it means to her. However, when now he has openly accepted me as a part of Regina's life and his family it actually bring a sense of relief to my heart, because I never want to become the reason of any kind of rift between Regina and her family.

“I hope your stomach is strong enough to handle some blood.” A hint of a brief sadistic smile flickers on his lips which makes Regina laugh while I and my brothers share a look of amusement.

Only if he knows that we can stomach blood just fine.
