Chapter 31
An uncontrollable rage is surging through me and which is increasing with each breath that this bastard taking. The vein in his neck which is pulsating beneath my finger wants me to dig my teeth into his flesh and tear it.
Gripping his neck tightly, I lift him off the floor as my teeth elongate while venom pools inside my mouth ready to suck the life out of him for daring to insult my Queen.
“You can’t kill him, as this will be considered as breaking of the agreement.” I hear some other motherfucker saying. “If you break the treaty then you will have to face severe consequences.”
“I don’t care about any agreement, he insulted my Regina he will have to die.” A snarl ripples through my chest.
“King... Atlas.” Regina places a hand on my shoulder, “Look at me.” She orders.
Forcefully, tearing my eyes away I glance at her. She rests her palm against my cheek momentarily making me close my eyes.
Opening my eyes, I connect my eyes with her then my eyes move to her lips. Call me sick, but I want to kiss her while I rip the heart out of this fucker’s chest.
“Why do you want to kill him?” She softly asks, wrapping her arm around my waist as she steps closer to me.
“No one can disrespect you.” I manage to say through clenched teeth.
“Ask him to leave me,” The pathetic hunter looks at Regina as he struggles to free himself from my grip.
“Why should I?” She scoffs and looks at him as if he is delusional. “Ain’t I just a human pet?”
I love her. And the smile playing on her lips says that she is enjoying this and who am I to ruin my Queen’s fun? So, I will spare a few more minutes of his life for Regina’s entertainment.
“If even a single drop of Elder Harvey’s blood will be dropped on this floor, then none of you will walk outside this building alive.” Edgar, another bastard which I want to rip, takes out the stake in his hand and I watch some of the other hunters too hold their weapon in their hands.
Stepping in front of me, Regina leans her back against my chest while wrapping my other arm around her waist as she eyes Harvey.
“I think he will happily respect your demand of not dropping a single drop of his blood if that’s what you want.” Tilting her head slightly to the side, she lifts her gaze to look at me as a sinister smile appears on her face, “We don’t need to spill his blood to kill him, right?” She arches her eyebrow, as her eyes shine with a mischievous glint.
“Whatever, you wish my love.” I press my lips against hers, understanding what she is asking, as I close my fingers around his neck crushing his windpipe along with his bones in one single motion.
Not the death which I wanted to give him, as I would have given him a much painful and slow death, but I can’t say no to Regina.
She smiles against my lips, then breaking the kiss she turns to look at Harvey’s lifeless body laying on the floor.
Kneeling beside his body, she lifts her head to look at Edgar with an innocent smile.
“See, no blood spilled.” She shrugs as she stands up.
Edgar looks like he is about to combust from anger, as he glares at her with hatred.
“Now, what was I about to tell you?” Tapping her finger against her chin she pretends to think, “Right, I was about to tell you that you have two hours to bring those kids safely here otherwise every one of you will safely reach your home in body bags.” She walks to her seat and sits, as if nothing has happened, ignoring Edgar completely.
Even I and my brothers look as clueless as others, but I trust her so I know beneath her casual attitude there is danger lurking.
“If I were you I would not have dared to threaten us.” Carlos sneers at her.
“If I were you, I would have gone for a vasectomy after bringing such abomination in this world.” She crosses her arms over the table as she leans forward, and nods her head at Marvin, “But clearly you didn’t.” She smirks looking at him as points at his another son.
“So, Mr.Carlos you are in no position to tell me what I should do or not.” Leaning back, she sighs, “So, now, it is better that you should do what I have asked you to. If you are thinking of going against my wish then you can ask your son what happens if one doesn’t listen to me.” She waves her hand towards Marvin.
“We are not afraid of these monsters, then what makes you think that we will be afraid of you.” Edgar slams his hand on the table angrily. “We will not hesitate to give your family a very painful death if you try to harm us.”
Even before he can see what’s happening, dagger flies throw the air and pins his hand against the table, as Regina looks at him with a cold expression.
A scream produces from his mouth as he looks at his hand nailed with a small palm-sized dagger which Regina has thrown at him.
“The only monster in this room is you because only monsters can think about torturing and killing innocent people.” Her voice passive while her eyes blazing with anger, “And if you are not afraid of me then you should. Because behind whatever agreement you are trying to hide, that agreement is between vampires and hunters, and I am neither of them. So I am not obligated to spare your pathetic lives.” She takes out the push dagger and slices his throat in one swift motion as everyone, but us, in the room looks at her in surprise. However, my chest fills with pride when I notice the hint of fear in everyone's eyes as they look at Regina.
“No one can threaten my family and stay alive.”
Her words hold a promise and while her eyes show the love which she has for her family as she glances in our direction.
