Her King

Chapter 3

Soul

My beast keeps on repeating the moment our eyes land on her.

Human, we found our soul.

My beast grins happily as I nod my head in agreement sharing his contentment.

She is perfect. Can I meet her?

No, not yet. She doesn’t know anything about us. You will scare her.

I mentally scold my beast who is behaving like a three-year-old.

Why she will be afraid of me? I am hers, I will not harm her.

I sense his pain by the thought she will be afraid of him. But soon it turns into adoration when she smiles at us.

I know she can feel the pull, it is all over her face. I can just pray she will not resist it and will accept us.

“Mr.King, I know you have been one of our important partners and we have made very beneficial deals in the past in the leadership of Mr.Michaels. But we can assure you if your company will continue with this partnership you will not regret working with us. We have always delivered our best and will continue to do so, despite any circumstances,” Regina directly speaks to me, clasping her hands she keeps them on the table.

“I know many of you would have doubts, which is obvious. However, I am sure I don’t need to remind anyone that it is still the same company which Mr.Michaels had successfully ran for years. Dismissal of him, will not change anything. The company might have seen an insignificant setback, however, this doesn’t mean we are weak in any sense. In no time, we will gain our rightful position back, with or without anyone's support, and I will make sure of that.” She eyes everyone in the room as if asking someone to challenge her.

"We trust you," I say, on behalf of me and my beast, and can't help but notice how tensed her shoulders were before, "We will continue our partnership which had been formed in the leadership of your father. All the previous deals will remain effective and even new deals will also be considered. You and your company have our full support." I give her a barely visible smile, which I am not sure she has noticed until her lips curves in a small smile.

"Thank you, I really appreciate it." Slipping back her neutral mask, she gives a curt nod.

“We are sorry for your loss, Miss. Michaels,” Somebody from my right speaks, “Mr. Richard Michaels was a great man.”

My beast wildly thrashes inside me, to go and comfort her when her jaws tighten as her eyes shine with tears which she is holding back.

She blinks removing any sign of emotions.

“Indeed, he was.” She confidently looks into the eyes of the man, “And will always be. He might not be with us anymore, but his principals and morals will always remain within us, which will help us to move forward towards betterment.” Her tone is polite, but it is hard not to miss the authority behind words.

She is truly a Queen.

Our Queen.

Yes, our queen.
