Her King

Chapter 2

Regina's POV

My team has been constantly updating me about every deal, our company has made with King Motors. For the past six months, I have been busy meeting our investors and affiliates to show them, Michaels Manufacturers is still as powerful as before. The death of Richard Michaels hardly affected the company's turnover. Emotionally we are struggling, however, still, we are as strong as before.

It is true with the change of ownership the rumors about the company going downhill have been circulating, but with the help of Dad's loyal and trusted employees I am managing to deal with everything.

The world should know, Regina Michaels is still here to carry the legacy that Richard Michaels has left.

"Atlas King is a good but intimidating man," Earl, one of the board of members and dad's most trusted friend informs me as we reach King Motors, "Your dad really respected him for his work ethics. And if we manage to convince him to continue their partnership with our company then I am sure all the rumors will die down as he only works with the best."

"Thanks, Earl, for everything." A small grateful smile turns my lips upward, returning my smile he lightly pats my arm.

I feel the air around me buzzing with some kind of energy, making me calm and restless at the same time as soon as I step into the building. I look around if it is just me, or anyone else can also feel the shift in the atmosphere.

Strangely, everyone seems normal then, why I am feeling all this weird? Maybe, it is just I am feeling anxious about this meeting.

Shaking off the feeling, I take a deep breath. Squaring my shoulders with my chin up high, I walk inside the room to face the man who can change our future.

The moment I step into the room, I am hit with this huge energy that I silently gasp for air. I don't know what this feeling is but my whole body is blanketed in warmth and comfort.

Ignoring the eyes on me, I take my seat and at the same time, my eyes lock with the most beautiful pair of violet color eyes... violet?

I am not able to look away from the hypnotizing gaze of this man. His face is stoic, but his eyes are flashing different emotions indicating I am not the only one who can feel this strange connection.

Something in me is calling me towards him. This is not anything physical... it is far from that. Something deeper... something calling my soul.

His eyes glaze over but no one else can see, but me. His expression might not be giving away anything but his eyes are speaking volumes. There is a vulnerability in them... yet I can feel happiness.

A strange sense of completeness fills inside my heart, as faint smile forms on my lips.
