Chapter 29
The thought of innocent live suffering because of those hunters boils my blood with rage. Some of those hunters are so blind with hatred for our kind that they don’t even care who they are hurting in the process. They are even ready to kill humans and even their own people to fulfill their goals.
I would have easily dealt with them if I would haven't found my soul.
Because now with Regina things are getting more difficult as she will be the target of those hunters once they will find out about her. I just want to keep her with me all the time where I know she will be safe, but it is practically impossible.
Moreover, I can’t bind her with me and take away her freedom from her. So, all I can do is trust her to take care of herself when I am not around. And knowing her I am sure she is fully capable of doing it.
With the completion of our union, she can be almost as powerful as me. But it will take a while for her to reach her full potential. It is not like instantly she will gain superhuman powers or something. It doesn’t work like that. However, she has almost stopped aging the moment she was bonded with me.
“Atlas, in an hour, I will go to meet my uncle,” Regina informs as she walks inside the living room, from the back garden, making her way to the kitchen. “But I will be back till evening.”
“Okay.” I nod my head as she comes back from the kitchen holding a can of soda.
I can’t help but smile when she comes and settles beside me, as my arm instinctually goes around her waist.
She scrolls through her phone looking through her emails while sipping her soda. Nuzzling my face in her hair, I inhale the comforting scent of her. Tilting her head slightly to the side, she glances at me then pecking my lips she turns her attention back to what she was doing.
I love spending time with her, just her presence makes everything so much better. I can’t help but feel grateful that she accepted us full-heartedly and didn’t deny our connection. Humans don’t feel the connection as strongly as us if we are paired with them. However, with Regina things were completely different as she felt the pull as strong as me even though when she had just met me.
Wrapping my other arm around her, I hug her tightly because I just feel like hugging her.
“Atlas!” She shrieks and laughs when I pepper kisses on the side of her face.
“I love you, Regina.” I kiss her jaw and pull her closer to me even more and sigh because the feeling of being complete encases my heart, even making my beast at peace.
“I love you, too,” She replies without even missing a beat while making my heart flip inside my chest.
I don’t think I can ever get tired of hearing these words from her, every time she tells me that she loves me an overwhelming sensation engulfs my heart... a feeling which I never want to let go.
Theo has just arrived and now we are waiting for Felix to come who is late as usual so that I can discuss the situation of the missing kids with them. The meeting is postponed until tomorrow afternoon as one of the elders of the hunters has passed away and his son will only be able to come tomorrow in his place.
“Hey, Theo.” Regina’s entire face brightens up when she glances at Theo.
I pretend that I didn’t notice how his eyes soften when he nods his head at Regina in a silent greeting.
“Why don’t you come often?” She complains looking at Theo, “I feel like it has been so long since I have seen you.”
Theo looks at me like he doesn’t know what to say, but I can sense his happiness knowing that Regina is not scared of him.
He will never admit but her acceptance means a lot to him and his beast.
The main door opens and Felix comes inside with a lazy smile on his face. He nods his head both of us, but he hugs Regina and kisses her cheek making her softly laugh.
Slipping my hands in my pockets, I watch Regina cupping his face and smiling fondly at him, which makes Felix smile brighter.
If there was anyone else other than him, I would have beheaded him for touching my Regina. But I know the love which my both brothers feel for her is that what you can call siblings love. If I can trust anyone else with her, it is either Felix or Theo. They will protect her and keep her away from every harm if something happens to me.
Felix follows Regina to the table, where her laptop is, as she shows him something. Both of them look lost in whatever conversation they are having which probably be about cars as I have found that she has a keen interest in cars just like Felix has. I would have heard what they are talking about with no problem but I always give people their privacy and avoid hearing their conversation as much as I can.
Another reason why I have called them to meet me is that tomorrow when Regina will accompany me to the meeting with the Hunters, I want both of them to be there with me. So in case, if anything goes wrong they can take Regina out of there.
“Don’t worry, no harm will come to her.” Theo’s voice makes me tear my gaze away from them, as I turn to face my brother who somehow always understand what is going on my mind, "Those bastards will be dead even if they look at her in a wrong way." His eyes flashes indicating his beast agrees with every word which he has said.
Patting his shoulder, I nod my head at him feeling grateful to have my brothers at my side. Felix catches my eyes and nods at me with a wink, letting me know he has heard our conversation.
But I know beneath his easy carefree attitude, lies a beast which is capable of tearing down anyone who threatens him or his family, just like Theo's.
"Felix." She smacks Felix on the back of his head when he flips the fruit knife in the air and catches it with its tip. "You can get hurt." She admonishes him and plucks knife out of his hand.
"Sorry," He says in a small voice looking slightly scared of her which causes me to chuckle and when I turn to look at Theo's even his lips are twitching upward in an amused smile.
Only my Regina can scare a beast with her glare.
