Her Home

Chapter 25 — Honeymoon-ish

When Rebecca woke up the next day, she flinched as she stretched. She was sore all over but for the first time in a few months it was a good kind of sore. She smiled as she looked at the ring on her hand. The afternoon and night before had been amazing she couldn't ask for anything more.

Vincent had pulled her up to their bedroom the second she said okay and pulled several suitcases from their closet. "What are you doing?" Rebecca asked him.

"Packing," he shrugged as he threw the suitcases on the bed and turned toward their closet to gather clothes. "Feel free to pack some of the outfits the girls got you for your shower," he yelled from inside. Rebecca could practically hear his smirk and shook her head.

"None of them fit me. They were meant for after the wedding when I was no longer pregnant with your spawn," she sighed. Some of the excitement of their previous conversation was dying. Being reminded that she was huge and not sexy like she used to be was a real downer.

"Hey," Vincent's voice brought her out of her thoughts. He was standing in front of her. He reached out and put a hand on either side of her face, "none of that. Don't let your mind go there. You are beautiful and perfect. Truthfully, I would probably just rip them off of you so, it's better if you don't bring them," he kissed her lightly and returned to packing. Rebecca shook off her feelings and started packing herself.

Twenty minuet's later, they were headed to the car that Kert was loading their suitcases into. "Thank you, Kurt," she smiled at him when he opened the door for her. He bowed quickly before shutting it behind her and getting into the car to drive wherever they were going. "Where are we headed?" she turned to face Vincent who was typing away on his phone.

"Not telling you," he said without looking up. She huffed. She hated when he surprised her with things but every time she protested, he reminded her of her promise to not fight when he wanted to treat her. She resorted to looking out the window to try and figure out where they were going. She heard Vincent laugh behind her after a few minutes. She turned to find him watching her. "Can't you just trust that I have good ideas sometimes?” he asked her as he reached for her hand. He pulled her closer to him and she snuggled into his side.

"Well you didn't give me much to go on and with you, who knows," she sighed.

"I can tell you, that you will be my wife by the end of the day," he kissed the top of her head. Neither of them said another word until the car stopped. Rebecca sat up and slide to the window to look out she knew where they were and she smiled. It was the hotel they had picked for their wedding reception. She smiled back and Vincent who motioned for her to get out of the car. She turned and saw that Kert was standing with the door open waiting for her to step out. When she stepped out, her eyes filled with tears. Joni and Isaac, Rosalina, Domenico, Gio and Vanessa, Trent and both her and Vincent's parents as well as Joni's, were standing in front of the hotel. She looked back at Vincent.

"Thank you," she smiled as the tears started falling. She had told him before how important it was to her, that her parents and her three best friends were there to see her get married. He had made it happen and she didn't care what happened now. Vincent placed a hand on the small of her back and guided her into the hotel with everyone following them.

A woman that Rebecca remembered from the day they had come to look at the hotel walked up to them with a smile, "Mr. Bellandini, Miss Jones, welcome," she greeted them. Rebecca sent a smile her way and Vincent just nodded. Rebecca rolled her eyes he was so antisocial.

"Thank you," she said to the women, "you will have to excuse me, pregnancy brain," she motioned toward her head, "I don't remember your name."

"I get it you should have seen me last year when I had mine," she waved her hands around with a bright smile. "I am Sara." Rebecca looked the women from head to toe and back again. She couldn't believe her eyes. "You recently had a child?" Sara was not skinny but she was not carrying around her baby weight. Sara nodded her head.

"Triplets actually," She huffed, "longest pregnancy yet. "The first one was much easier." Rebecca couldn't believe her ears. She smiled up at Vincent as if to say maybe there is hope. Vincent smiled back at her not giving away that he already knew and had hoped that it would come out with them talking. When he bought the hotel after Rebecca had asked for it to be the venue for the wedding reception, he had done a full background on everyone that worked there. He knew everyone's story just like her liked it.

"You look amazing," Rebecca told Sara after sweeping her eyes over her once again.

"Thank you," Sara blushed slightly. "Let me show you to the ballroom," she turned and the group followed her. Even though they didn't fill the room, Vincent had told Sara they wanted the entire thing.

Rebecca's smile got bigger as they walked in and she noticed the decorations. From the ceiling, strings of lights were hanging and nothing else. There were enough chairs for all their friends and family with candles on the floor surrounding them. Past the chairs there was a simple arch with the man she recognized as the priest that had been Vincent's family priest for many years and they had planned on marrying them. The decorations weren't lavish but they were perfect to her. She turned to look at Vincent with tears in her eyes.

"Don't cry, Mi Amore," he said wiping them away as they fell. His face held a look of concern. "If you don't like it, we will do something else." Rebecca shook her head franticly.

“I love it,” she smiled and pointed to her face, "these are happy tears. I promise." Vincent smiled wide and nodded. He placed his hand back on her lower back and lead her to stand in front of the most important people in their lives. Vincent turned to the priest.

"We're ready," he told the priest who smiled at him. When he began to speak, they looked at each other and everyone else became a blur. It wasn't until Nadia cleared her throat and said Vincent's name that they realized that they hadn't heard a word the priest said. Instead of repeating everything he laughed and looked to Vincent.

"You're supposed to say I do," he instructed. Everyone laughed as did Vincent.

"I do," he smiled at Rebecca. "Every day, forever."

"Rebecca, do you take Vincent as your lawfully wedded husband, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and health, until death do you part?" The priest asked her with a raised brow. He hoped they hadn't both tuned out again.

"I do," she smiled at Vincent. The priest presented them as husband and wife and their family and friends cheered. Nadia raced for them both stopping as she nearly collided with Roslyn. Both mothers laughed before grabbing their own children to hug them then switching before finally hugging each other. When they had hugged everyone, Rebecca heard music playing. She looked around, catching Vincent holding a hand out for her.

"Dance with me?" He requested. She took his hand and allowed him to lead her around the dance floor while everyone watched them. When the song was over, they all clapped and cheered causing Rebecca to blush a little. She hid her face in Vincent's chest and felt his chest rumble with laughter. The rest of the night went well they all danced and had dinner together before Vincent finally whisked her off to their suite upstairs.

Rebecca's daydream was cut short when the bathroom door opened and Vincent came walking out in nothing but a towel. "Good morning, Wife," he said sitting beside her on the bed. He pecked her lips and was smiling wide when he pulled away. "How are you?" He rubbed her stomach.

"I'm great, husband," she smiled back.

"Are you happy? I know this wasn't exactly how you had dreamed this would all happen," he felt a little guilty for rushing her.

"I am glad that I am your wife now," she kissed him.

"Me too," he wiggled his eyebrows at her causing her to laugh and push him away from her by the shoulder. Vincent laughed with her for a while. When he sobered, he became serious. "I have a question for you," he stroked her face softly. Rebecca nodded her head to tell him to continue. "Are you ready to be queen?" Rebecca could see the hope in his eyes and smiled which put him at ease.

"I am," she smiled. "I am your wife now," Rebecca placed her hand over his squeezing it reassuringly. "I knew what came with that. I will do what is expected of me. I just hope to make you proud." Vincent let out a chuckle.

"You're the best thing that ever happened to me, Amore. I couldn't ask for a better wife for me, mother for my children and queen for our family," he returned to rubbing her stomach as he talked. She smiled at him and felt a tear drop. She sniffed as Vincent wiped it away. He was concerned but she shook her head.

"Stupid hormones." They both laughed together. Vincent pulled her to him crashing their lips together.

The next three days, they stayed at the hotel. Vincent made sure that her every whim was met. She had daily massages back, feet, wherever was sore. If she had a craving, he ordered it from room service if they didn't have it, he called Sara and she got it for her. When she was feeling up to it, they made love but Vincent's favorite part was lying in bed every night with Rebecca in her arms rubbing her stomach and thinking about the fact that she was his. Forever. He went from thinking he would never settle down to being happiest when he was with his wife and thinking of their children.

When the four days was over, Vincent had to get back to work. "I hope this was a good enough honeymoon to tide you over, Mi Amore," he said kissing her at the door of their hotel room. She smiled up at him. "It was."

"I promise I won't make you wait too long to have a real one," he kissed her again before opening the door and leading her out of the room.

"Well, I want to wait until the kids are older," she shrugged as they walked down the hall. He nodded in understanding as they stepped onto the elevator.

They arrived home after saying goodbye to Sara and hello to Kert. "Rebecca," Nadia greeted her.

"Mother? What are you doing?" Vincent asked her.

"I wanted to see you both when you got home and your father needed to speak with you so, here we are," she waved her hands around. Vincent smiled at her, "he's in your office," she pointed with one hand while she grabbed Rebecca by the arm to lead her to the living room to talk.

"Can I kiss my wife first?" He raised a brow. Rebecca felt herself blush as a chill ran through her body. It made no sense for both to happen at once but she had felt it several times since the first day she had woken up as his wife. Nadia stopped and looked at him as if he was inconveniencing her.

"God ahead then," she waved to the two of them. They both laughed before Rebecca gave Vincent a quick peck and turned to walk away with her.

"Just wait until my mother is gone, Mi Amore," he shouted after her making her blush.

Vincent chuckled as he walked to his office. He couldn't help but think about what he wanted to do with her later. There was something about being married that made him crave her more than he had before which he thought was impossible. "There you are, Figlio," his father stood from the chair he had been waiting for him on. "How was the little honeymoon?" He clapped him on the shoulder.

"Wonderful. I think Rebecca was able to relax. It was good for her," Vincent sat in his chair.

"That's good. You needed it also I'm sure," Francesco said taking his seat again. "Did you find time to talk?" He smirked. Vincent smirked back shaking his head at his father's insinuated joke.

"Yes. She said she is ready to be queen," he sat up straighter with a smile that said he was proud he had won this amazing life with Rebecca.

"Congratulations. I have more good news for you." Vincent raised a brow. "It seems that everyone in the family is ready for you to take over. There has been no more fighting against it the last month," Vincent nodded. "That is great to hear."

"Everyone that has met Rebecca, adores her. I'm glad that we will be able to introduce her as your queen when I hand you the family." Vincent nodded in agreement. He wanted to shout it from the rooftops that they were married but he would wait until the party. It was only about three weeks away not too much to longer. "I have all the faith in you both. I know you will lead this family to greatness," Francesco stood up and buttoned his jacket. He turned and walked to the door. Stopping he turned to look at Vincent again, "I will take your mother and let you and my new daughter get started on whatever you were planning on before we interrupted you. Vincent laughed as he watched his father leave his office. Vincent looked through the papers he had left on his desk the day of the baby shower and their wedding. He tried to focus but could only think about Rebecca. As if his thoughts summoned her, she knocked on the door as she opened it. "Hey, you," she smiled at him leaning against the doorway.

"Hey. What were you and my mother up to?" He asked her smiling back. Rebecca shrugged.

"Just talking about my dress for the party. I don't want to talk about that though," she lifted her arm stretching it out, she wiggled her pointer finger motioning to him to follow her. She turned and started her way to their bedroom.
