Her Forever

Chapter (Book 5)- Epilogue

Third Person

The pattering of naked feet hit the marbled floor with a bang. The slap of skin hitting and leaving the floor became louder and louder in the rooms down the hall. A shrill escaped the pup’s lips as it neared the end of the hallway. Heavy pants, sweat dripping down its brow, heart beat speeding up by every minute. “No, no, no,” he panted, finally reaching for the high decorative doorknob in front of him.

Suddenly, the lights went out in the hallway. Only one emergency light hung at the other end of the hall. “Uh, oh,” escaped the tiny pink lips. Wiggling the door handle again, a rush of wind flew past, waving the unruly hair wildly.

Deciding another route was needed, the pup crept to the floor, hiding behind the abundant exotic plants that decorated each hallway. Hiding behind the largest potted plant, the breathing slowed while holding legs to its chest.

“He’s going to get me,” the pup whispered.

Heavy clicking of shoes invaded the tiny ears. Holding its breath, it continued to hug its tiny arms around its knees. A large sniff came from the nose of the predator as it neared. The pup, closing its eyes tightly, as if to fade into the dense foliage of the plant, was then picked up by the collar of the predator.

A large squeal of laughter came from the pup.

“Found you!!” Suron gripped hold of the four-year-old boy. The boy laughed hysterically, hugging Suron.

“You always find me! It isn’t fair!”

“Ah, but your wolf’s senses haven’t come in yet, Devin. Once you train with your fathers you will be able to not only dodge me but beat me to a bloody pulp!”

“You really think so?!” His pine green eyes lit up like the light sources of Bergarian.

“I know so! Now come on, I believe you have a sister to meet!” Suron threw the young pup over his shoulder. The future Alpha of the Warrior Pack.

After the party, Suron had a feeling he should stay in Bergarian than go back to his former coven at Black Raven. Sadie, Queen of the Moon Kingdom, had the same feeling as well. She had fallen for the cute charms, the laughter he would bring her and wanted him to stay in the castle and give him a job. Suron was reluctant, but one day Sadie saw his love for children as he saw him play with King Orion’s younger children at the reception. Orion wanted him for himself so Willa could have a break, but Suron felt the need to stay with Sadie. Who wouldn’t?

The idea struck her: he would become a nanny to her grandchildren. Suron’s bright personality shone through more, excited about the job. He loved children; he loved the laughs, the innocence and the worry free attitudes. It was perfect for him.

Suron’s first job was to help take care of Devin, Trinity’s first child. When Trinity had Luna duties, Suron would take care of the baby who took to him immediately. Suron had become part of the family quickly, even with Thaddeus’ reluctance.

Suron continued many tricks to try to force shift on Thaddeus, but had failed every time.

The duo opened the ornate door handle poor Devin tried to open. A gentle knock with his icy fingers tapped the door hi eyes to meet Trinity in bed, holding a pink swaddling blanket. Her mates were on either side, cooing at the little elf she held in her arms. The tiny baby girl was so small, fit the right genetics for an elven baby.

“Devin, Suron,” Trinity’s voice was hoarse. She grunted through the entire labor, trying not to scream and frighten her son, who was somewhere else in the pack house.

“Mummy!” Suron hopped on the bed, scooting towards his mother. His tiny hand pulled down the swaddled blanket, showing a tuft of bright red hair. The floral arrangements in the room let off a sweet smell. Even the lavender seemed stronger as the baby continued to sleep.

“Mummy, what’s her name?” Devin’s dark hair, just like their father’s, covered his eyes. He refused to cut it. He wanted to be like his Pop, Seth, whose hair was down to his shoulders when not held up by a tie.

“Well,” Trinity looked at both of her mates. They nodded, ready to reveal the name they had all collectively decided on. “We decided, Penelope.”

Suron took a large breath in, “she’s beautiful.” Trinity smiled, holding the child to her chest. “Would you like to hold her?” Suron hesitated. His body wanted desperately to hold her, and he wasn’t sure why. This feeling to protect her, to hold her, was strong and he could not understand. He thought it may be his protective instincts to help raise a helpless baby, but it was strange.

Walking forward, he picked up the baby. Penelope clutched to his chest, nuzzling into his stiff body.

Sadie walked in along with Seth, who trailed behind her like a little puppy. Her eyes instantly went to Suron, looking at her new granddaughter. Her eyes softened, putting her hand on Seth’s arm.

“Just like Max was with Evelyn,” she mind-linked Seth. Her mate growled low, not liking the situation.

“Max was different. There wasn’t such a large age gap.”

“Age is but a number, you know that,” Sadie tried to soothe Seth.

“And he is a vampire,” grumbled. Seth still had a hardened heart against the vampires who abducted Sadie when they were first together. Then the war, the war sealed the deal of never trusting them again.

“Seth, not one race is all evil, you know this. Suron is the sweetest.” Seth just pulled Sadie closer to his side, inhaling her scent.

Max was but five or six years old when he first met Evelyn when she was a baby. Max eventually left, leaving for extensive warrior and general training not to see her again until she was twenty.

“We will have to send him away when she becomes a teenager. I don’t want any accidents,” Seth grumbled.

“I agree, besides Mia and Evelyn will want to have their own children, too. He will be needed elsewhere as the royal nanny.”

Theon and Thaddeus bent low, so their mother can k**s their cheeks. Sadie dare not tell her sons the look she saw in Suron’s eyes as he rocked the baby in a near-by chair. Thaddeus would be furious and Suron’s wish would certainly come true of forcing a shift on one of her boys.

“Thanks for coming mom,” Theon clung to his mother.

“Of course, we wouldn’t miss this momentous day,” she smiled. Also, finding out your daughter is mated to her nanny, made my morning. She thought.

Many people came in throughout the day to congratulate the happy family. Trinity’s mother and father came in, along with their son, Trinity’s brother. Tally had the infamous bright red hair, a stocky body type, just like his father that will turn to muscle with years to come. Devin and Tally, as Trinity predicted, became the best of friends, constantly running through the forests of the Warrior territory, wreaking havoc among the forest creatures.

Trinity’s immediate family of four, and with preparations to adopt a child from the Earth realm to arrive in just a few months, they would be a family of five. Her heart swelled, thinking about all the little patter of feet running through the pack house.

Warriors and their families at the pack had never been happier. Loving how Trinity was not just a Luna who stayed indoors, but ventured out wanting to train along with them. The area’s foliage grew immensely. The trees looked healthier, stronger and tended to any wolf that needed a shade from the bright light sources in the sky.

“Mimi, can we go get ice cream?” Devin broke the silence of the room as they gazed at the adorable baby elf. Seth came over to Devin, stealing him from Trinity. Seth propped him up on his shoulder, holding on to him tightly as he began to leave the room.

“I’ll get you ice cream, and maybe a run through the woods?” Devin screamed excitedly.

“With Caspian!?” Seth gave a large belly laugh. “Of course. He has missed you the past few days.” Devin screamed loudly, ordering his pop to go faster.

Another couple came to the door as Seth and Sadie left. It was Stacy and her mate, Landon. Stacy was rounded with child, expecting her own little werewolf in a month.

“Stacy!” Trinity cried. Stacy ran to the bed, embracing her first real friend. They held on for the longest time.

“I’m so glad you are here,” Trinity sniffed. Stacy and Landon, shortly after the infamous Luna, Alpha and pack transference ceremony, left back to Earth. Landon stayed training warriors for the next four years and properly courting Stacy. Once they mated, she experienced her first heat six months later and fell pregnant.

“We have some great news,” she whispered. Trinity’s head perked up at Stacy’s shoulder. “We are moving into your pack, that is, if you will have us.” Trinity’s bright smile lit up the room, branches from the nearby open windows crept into the room, wondering what had made Trinity’s already cheerful mood now more joyous.

“Of course! When do you want to be inducted? Right now? You can’t change your mind now that you have said it. That would be rude,” Trinity forced out. Landon stood behind Stacy, worried about her flamboyant movements around his pup, pulling Stacy back. He lovingly caressed her belly, kissing her mark.

Alpha Seth said it was for the best that Landon’s training skills were impeccable. In fact, Stacy glanced backwards to Landon. “Your mates invited him to be beta!” Trinity began to sob. Theon and Thaddeus rushed to her, worried for her wellbeing.

“I’m just so happy,” she cried. Thaddeus pulled her into his embrace, a worried look etched in his perfect features.

“It’s normal,” Theon mouthed to Thaddeus, who shrugged his shoulders and rubbed her back.

Stacy walked towards Suron, who was holding baby Penelope with the utmost care. “Oh, wouldn’t it be wonderful,” Stacy spoke off handedly. “If our baby and Penelope were mates?” Suron’s eyes shot up to meet Stacy’s, but she was too busy cooing over the baby to notice.

Suron’s eyes flashed red, his grip on Penelope tightened. He wasn’t sure what this feeling of over protectiveness was, but he certainly did not like the idea of Penelope mated to anyone.
