(Book 5)- Chapter 59
Seth
My sons, along with their mate, had driven off. The wolves escorting them to the border were pleased with the transaction. No peculiar smells, no signs of any wildlife were around the area when they crossed over, which only made Caspian, my wolf, grunt in suspicion.
Mia, my second daughter, is wise, just like her mother. Her passion for knowledge, learning about the Bergarian history, had changed many thoughts for the entire realm. Books that had been locked away for centuries at the bottom of the castle were re-opened by demand for her to look over. Sacred texts dating back thousands of years were left in the cellars by one of Sadie’s ancestors who was said to be possessed by Hades himself.
We found this not to be true. He was just a royal d**k.
They released the texts after Mia had found references in the current library of the castle with history books, starting when King Emilio and Queen Estar, when Sadie’s parents, had taken control of the kingdom. They had thought the books were burned or discarded. However, Mia, being the ever curious one, discovered one line in a textbook that led to thousands of old scripts.
Now, the kingdom relies on her for too much, even though she is the Alpha of the Warrior Pack. She doesn’t want it; she wants to be an advisor to other nations and she will have that dream once we deal with this Kitsune.
What very little information we can find on the Kitsune was disturbing. Our current texts say they should have been extinct, but now we find one here on Earth. The Kitsune is an intriguing shifter that no one had dealt with in many generations. We are dealing with a shifter with magical abilities. Dragons were to have said to be the only ones with the added ability.
Mia mentioned that the Moon Goddess had cursed all Kitsune for their devious ways and refused to grant them a mate, so they had to find their own, granting them being particular in their selection. Once they have a mate, however, and have received all nine tails, their power would exceed any powerful sorcerer.
After my warriors returned, I had them take down the temporary housing of large logs that were only protection from a surprise attack and had them put it around the pack house. We do not have the liberty to bring more witches in at such a short amount of time for a stronger ward, so our defence was going to be primitive.
Sadie, my beautiful mate, is gathering all the children into the main courtyard in front of the pack house. Bear cubs and wolf pups laughed and giggled as she counted them, one by one, writing their names, their parents’ names and ages. I asked both parents of each child to stay to fight and they all agreed quickly to serve in the small army. Lenhi would travel with the children through the portal to keep them safe while the fight was here.
“Is that everybody!?” Sadie yelled out. Some children were giggling, pushing each other. Wolf pups and bear cubs did not care what species they were, just like most children. There were no rivalries between them, just that they had a friend to play with. Earth was not as friendly to other species as Bergarian was. They had not caught up to our new ways.
“I think so,” Lenhi spoke, while feeding her baby. The thing didn’t even have a name. Everyone kept calling the child ‘baby.’ Just name the damn child already. Is it that hard? I cleared my throat.
“Are you ready Luna Lenhi?” Lenhi crossed her arm and did a shallow bow. “Yes, Your Highness, Sorceress Bohdi is on her way now.” I grunted, going over to Sadie to bury my nose in her hair.
“Well, hello to you too, handsome,” Sadie purred. “What’s wrong with my big bad wolf?” Sadie’s fingers intertwined with the strands of my hair. “Is it the boys?” she whispered.
“I’m worried,” I mind-linked. “It was too easy for them to leave the borders. They could find not one animal for a two-mile radius as they traveled through the border.” She hummed in my ear.
“They will be fine. You raised two sturdy sons, and we have gained an equally strong daughter-in-law. Both in her physical form and in her mind. She fits perfectly in our family, don’t you think?”
“More so than Marco,” I growled outwardly. When I found out my best friend, my Beta, was mated to my daughter, Mia, our relationship became strained. Knowing he takes her to bed after he had his many ways with other she-wolves when I told him to stop grew my fury. There were nights Sadie couldn’t even sate Caspian. He would have to run through the woods, ripping down trees, roaring into the night. Their entire courtship was a long one and my dear mate had to endure the brunt of it. She had to deal with c**k for hours on end.
“Silly wolf,” she giggled. “She is perfect for the boys, and what was the hug all about earlier? I don’t think you have ever hugged one of our daughters that long.” Sadie pulled me back, both her hands on my face, trailing the deep scar that now ran down the side of my face. The damn demons who we fought so many years ago were a constant reminder that our family had to be protected. Caspian would let no one harm our immediate family. Now that he had held Trinity in our arms, he became protective of her as well.
My family was all that I lived for. Each birth of a new child made Caspian stronger to protect them. Every day he purred in my head, thinking about how proud he was of each one. Each had their talents, their desires and dreams. We wanted them to live out those dreams and be supported. We gave them the best teachers, the best learning experiences and enough love to last several lifetimes.
With Trinity, there was a shift in Caspian’s behavior, when we hugged her. I was taken aback. I had only felt this sudden shift with Evelyn and my boys. That difference being the half shift that we now called a Lycan Shift. A powerful grip I could feel from the bottom of my claws to the depth of my heart. Power, pure power filling me and then rotating back into my three out of four of children. I felt it with three of my children, but not with Mia.
My only conclusion was that Mia had too pure of a heart, just like her mother. They do not crave the fight; they crave for peace. My boys and Evelyn were gifted with a Lycan because of our fierce protectiveness. It gave us our half forms, now known as Lycans. Thousands of years ago they gave it a name, and with the old texts Mia found many facts about the half change or Lycanology. The study of the royal half-form.
Luckily for us, Mia found out this information just three months ago. I had many new tricks up my sleeve to take to battle with. Caspian howled with in me, ready to put it to good use.
“You felt it in her?” Sadie said, aghast. My mate was the ever observant one, able to feel my mood shifts before they could ever happen.
“I did,” Caspian growled in my head. “There is more to it. She’s half elf. I don’t know what will happen to her or even if the shift will happen properly. Evelyn, Theon, Thaddeus and me are all pureblooded. Trinity is not.” Sadie sighed, biting her l*p. Damn that l*p. My c**k stirred to life, putting pressure on the inside of my jeans.
My mouth met hers, pulling her l*p with my bottom teeth. My pierced tongue invaded her mouth while I pulled her closer by the waist. “You can’t do that,” I whispered into her mouth. “Or I’ll have to take you in front of all these people.” Her innocent eyes grew wide, patting my arm.
“Sorry,” her blush painted her cheeks. She acts so innocent when I know every square inch of her tiny body like the back of my hand. My claws wanted to sink into her skin, pull my c**k out and f**k her right here on the pack house steps, but we have a job to do and I don’t think she would find pleasure in doing something so vulgar outside.
Pecking her lips one more time, “Is there a way to get you to go with Lenhi and the children?” Sadie pretended to think, patting her lips with one finger.
“Nope!” she popped the ‘p,’ and sauntered off in a pale yellow dress. “I’d get the warriors in formation. I don’t think the Kitsune is going to wait the full 24 hours,” she said in seriousness.
The large pack house doors opened, out came a sauntering Bohdi wearing an off the shoulder top baring two marks. “About damn time,” I growled out, stomping over to her. “Do you have any idea what we are dealing with here and you are over there f*****g? Could you not wait….” Suddenly my throat was cut off by an invisible hand. Bohdi’s hand shaped like she was the one doing it.
This looks like some Star Wars s**t Sadie made me watch.
“Still such an impatient beast you are even with Sadie by your side.” Growling my fingers wrapped around my neck, my Lycan claws extended, ripping the invisible hand. Bohdi stepped back in confusion, rubbing the claw marks on her arm. They quickly disappeared, most likely from Spencer’s healing abilities she gained.
“Still cocky as ever,” I whispered dangerously, hovering over her body. “New little trick, I figured out. Do you like it?” Bohdi huffed, sticking her tongue out.
“Good to see you, Seth.”
Giving her a half smile, I patted her shoulder. “Indeed. We need a portal to get these kids away.” Bohdi and I have a friend, enemy relationship. She was a witch, and I didn’t trust her as far as I could throw her when we first met. Bodhi proved herself loyal to the Moon Kingdom crown and I will be ever grateful for the times she shared with our family so many years ago.
“On it, I can only get them somewhere on Earth. I won’t tell anyone where I am sending them so the Kitsune won’t find them as easily if we… you know,” Bohdi trailed off.
“There will be no losing, not this day.” Bohdi gave a reluctant smile while she headed towards the children as they run around screaming in excitement.
….
“Your Highness, the border is secure. They have sent the children through the portal. We are asking for further direction,” Landon, head warrior of the Red Moon pack, spoke. He had strong fighting abilities for a young wolf and had the perfect etiquette concerning pack ranks. Even though this pack was rather small.
“Excellent. Did your mate go with the children?” Landon shook his head. “No sir, she decided to work in the clinic to deliver b***d transfusions.” Landon’s face showed no sign of emotion speaking of his mate and no resistance in having her leave the pack to keep her safe. If my mate had no wolf, I would have immediately sent her away. What is Landon trying to get at here?
“Why have you not claimed her more openly?” I bluntly said. His face did not falter, hands clenching in a fist.
“With all due respect,…” he began.
“Excuse me, your King as asked you a question,” I snapped. Landon’s wolf made him back away, baring his neck. “Mates are the ultimate gift, and it looks like you are resisting. I have exalted you, but if you reject your mate, I will think differently.” My fangs grew. Caspian was pacing inside me, wanting to begin any fight, even with our own pack members, to sate his l**t for b***d today.
“You Highness, fear. Fear is stopping me. I wasn’t the best to her when we were younger, pushed her away. I even pushed her to date someone who ended up being a traitor and was killed for it not but a few days ago. If I push her any further to pain,…”
“Grow some balls,” I interrupted. All these damn Earth wolves are a bunch of p*****s. “This is the time she needs you. She has no one. See her before the fight begins. You never know what will happen amid greed and jealousy. There are no guarantees for another day.” Cause I knew what it was like to almost lose someone, to think they would be gone forever. Turning my back, I walked away, leaving Landon to his thoughts and small balls.
“f**k, stop talking to people. It’s irritating.” Caspian growled in my head. “We are supposed to be preparing for a war, not become a damn therapist.”
“f**k off,” I whispered.
“No, you f**k off. Or we can go f**k or mate. I’ll settle for that.”
“Damn, you have two emotions, horny or insatiable, for a fight. Can you just go to sleep or something until…”
“ROGUES!”
