Her Forever

(Book 5)- Chapter 43

Theon

We stayed in bed all day. Thaddeus and I woke once the sun began to touch the trees again. We were both sore from using muscles we weren’t used to, and we were ready to go again; by the gods, we were ready. Trinity didn’t look anywhere close to waking, not that we were expecting her to.

We bit her hard enough for her change. The human in her would be long gone, and half her body would become more adaptable to ours. If by a miracle, we did put a pup in her, there would be no issues, and she could give birth to either a pup or an elf. Whichever genetics card our child wanted to throw at us.

My fingers trailed across her shoulders, my mark shown proudly on her right while Thaddeus’ was on the left. No male would be able to deny that she belonged to two alphas. My fingers traced my mark, her body twisted, curling up next to me, nuzzling her nose into my chest. I smiled, playing with her tangled hair.

“Never thought we would be here with her,” Thaddeus’ voice hung low. “I thought we were destined to be alone.” I chuckled, making sure not to wake Trinity.

“Dad waited one hundred and twenty-some years for Mom; we only waited thirty. You are being overdramatic.” Thaddeus huffed and buried his face in Trinity’s hair. “She’s going to be out for a while; she would probably appreciate one of us checking on her mother.” Reluctantly pulling myself from Trinity’s arms, she rolled over and attached herself to Thaddeus. He hummed contented, kissing her cheeks and down her neck. “No f*****g her while she’s asleep, that’s weird.” Thaddeus rolled his eyes in disgust.

“I’m not into that; I need a willing participant.”

After a quick shower and getting dressed, I glanced back over at Thaddeus and Trinity. She hadn’t moved, and Thaddeus had already drifted back to sleep with his head between her breasts. When she awoke, we weren’t sure what we would find. Neither of us had heard of an elf wolf hybrid, so she would be the first. Trinity was ours, ours, and living with us for the rest of our lives would commence. She would become Luna of our pack, and what a mighty Luna she would be.

Heading down the hall, I passed several wolves snickering. Mainly the popcorn and hotdog eaters that were rooting us on in the courtyard. If Trinity knew what they were saying now, she would have buried herself in our rooms for days. “Hey Theon,” one warrior called over. Able was one of the closer wolves to Thaddeus and me and wanted to be our Beta. We had several to interview yet, but his credentials looked promising.

“Everyone down here took bets how you guys would mark her….” Ables’ hand scratched behind his head, blushing. I told them they shouldn’t, but I’m getting a lot of pressure because they want to know who won.” Able was shifting uncomfortably, foot to foot, while the others stared in longing.

“I don’t see how that is any of their damn business,” I snapped out loud. “Would they like it if I asked what position they f****d their mates in when they marked them?” Several wolves mumbled amongst themselves. Able smiled in relief. “Thank you, Alpha, that’s what I had mentioned.”

“Party pooper!” A younger warrior yelled across the room to Able. He smiled, throwing them the finger. “I know you both have waited for your mate; I’m glad you have given her the respect to keep that hidden. Many around here don’t do so.” Thaddeus and I were one hundred years younger than Able; his baby face hid that quite well.

“Thank you, Able,” I put my hand on his shoulder. How about you go show how warriors of the Warrior Pack how they should behave?” Able smirked, rubbing his hands. “It would be my pleasure, Alpha.” Bowing his head, we both turned to our own devices.

While traveling down the hall, I could hear Able shouting. “On your feet, five laps around the territory at top speed!” Shaking my head, blowing out a breath, I was glad I was not a part of that run. The territory diameter was twenty-five miles; those few wolves placing bets would be hurting later.

The hallway to the infirmary became sterile. The halls were no longer decorated with past Alphas, pictures of Bergarian, and the god Ares. The walls faded to white, and the disinfectant smell hit my nose harshly. Shaking my head from the burning smell, I find Dad sitting on the nurse’s station counter. His dark complexion compared to white walls was almost comical while he ate a piece of cheesecake.

“Hey, Dad,” he looked up briefly then stabbed his fork back into the desert. He savored the flavor before swallowing.

“Why aren’t you with your mate? You marked her, didn’t you?” Dad’s face contorted to confusion with a hint of anger. Dad was very possessive over Mom, more so than any other mated couple I had ever witnessed. They say it was because of the beast inside him; his wolf, Caspian, was hard to control and Mom’s gift of calming was the only way he could stay sated and not kill everyone.

“The best thing about being a twin, our mate isn’t always alone,” I shrugged my shoulders, leaning on the counter. “I’m actually here for Trinity though, I wanted to check on her Mother. She will want to know an update when she wakes up.” Dad grunted, eating more of his cheesecake until Mom walked out of a room, shutting gently behind her.

Mom was wearing one of her favorite sundresses, light blue, with a white ribbon tied behind her hair. The soft curls made her look younger than her own sons. “Hi, Mom,” I greeted her with a hug.

“Oh, Thaddeus, what are you doing here, not with your mate?” Dad grunted again.

“That’s what I asked him,” he grumbled.

“I wanted to check on her Mom. When she wakes up, she will want to know.” Mom squirts some clear liquid on her hands, rubbing them together. I raised a brow.

“Hand sanitizer,” she rubbed her hands together more until the liquid completely evaporated. “Humans get sick rather easily, and until Folen can mark her, we need to keep her as healthy as possible. Anyway,” she straightened her dress. “You could have mind-linked, so you didn’t have to leave her.”

I g*****d a little, shoving my hands in my jeans. “Last time I mind-linked you guys, I got an earful of things I didn’t need to hear.” Dad snorted a laugh while Mom giggled.

“That was over ten years ago, Theon. I swear it was an accident.” Dad grabbed Mom, pulling her to his chest. He took a large fork full of cheesecake and placed it into her mouth, pulling it out slowly.

“f**k,” Dad whispered. The man has a raging hard-on all the time. It had only gotten worse when Thaddeus and I turned five and were sent to school during the day. Once the babies were grown, their s*x drive went up.

Mom laughed again, trying to wipe away a bit of cake stuck to her mouth. Dad reached in and licked his pierced tongue on the side of her face. I would never understand Dad’s obsession with piercings. Mom looked way too pure for all that, but she loved him, and they were perfect together. Maybe the goddess knew that she would be the only woman to put up with his a*s.

“Stoooop!” Mom playfully giggled, pulling away from Dad. “Evangeline is doing better. I can only do so much since she is human; my powers don’t reach that deep into the human immune system like supernaturals. She was given a b***d transfusion, and b***d work was run on her.” Mom’s eyes softened, rubbing her hands together solemnly.

“She’s been through a lot the past year. Folen had to watch from afar, he couldn’t save her, or he would be at risk of being captured as well. No other elves are in the Earth realm anymore, according to Mia. He dared not leave her; I would have done the same.” Mom’s arm went around Dad.

“She was poisoned, Theon. She was given a highly concentrated dose of silver, the same silver dosage in those gas bombs. Silver in the bloodstream isn’t fatal to humans, but it can cause the blue-greyish color to the skin you have seen. She has been injected so many times her body is having trouble getting rid of it, especially since they haven’t fed her properly.” I growled.

What kind of sick bastard does this to his wife? Matteo Amato is going to die by either Thaddeus or my hand. The real question was why was he attacking shifters, to begin with. He was doing it before he knew Trinity was even out here. “We will find his hiding spot. Folen must have an idea.” I snarled. Mom nodded her head, leaning her head on Dad’s chest.

“We will; it will take all of us. Mia and Marco are expected to arrive within the next twenty-four hours.” My head perked up; Mia was coming! Mia babysat Thaddeus and I so Mom and dad could go have a quickie in a closet somewhere. Needless to say, we really formed a bond with Mia and Marco.

“That’s great! I’m sure she is also coming because of Trinity’s background being an elf mated to some wolves now?” I half laughed. Mom nodded again.

“With Folen being a warrior and so large, I’m sure Trinity inherited a lot of strength from him. He’s the biggest elf I have ever seen; I wonder if everything is proportioned right.” Dad roared, pulling Mom tight.

“But not as big as you my mighty Alpha King,” Mom cooed while petting Dad’s cheek. f**k I’m gonna hurl. Dad immediately melted into Mom’s arms.

“Mia is very excited to write it in her new Soul Bonding book. She had interviewed King Orion and Queen Willa just a few months ago. Willa’s story alone was three chapters long on the transfiguration of Willa’s half siren, half-human tale. Watch out; she’s going to want to have Trinity all to herself when she wakes up.

“Not that we can help it! We still need to make sure she smells like us enough before we let her leave the room.” Dad’s nose traveled up Mom’s neck.

“She’s right, Love; they need to mark her a few more times, give them a couple days. Speaking of which, you promised.” Dad whined into her ear. His hand traveled up to her breasts. Gods, he must not have gotten laid in four hours if he is petting her out in the open like this. I closed my eyes, getting ready to walk away.

“Just a second, I still need to talk to our son,” patting his hand that rested on her h*p, her attention was drawn back to me. “You should go give Folen a rest. He needs to shower, and I’ll have the nurses bring in an extra bed until Evangeline wakes up. Just watch over her so he can relax.”

Dad jumped off the counter, picking Mom up, who giggled uncontrollably. They were my parents, and even with their weird ways, I loved them both. They did have powerful mate goals to live by, and I couldn’t wait to start mated life with Trinity.

Putting sanitizer in my hand, I rubbed it vigorously and tapped the door lightly. Walking in, Folen was half asleep in the chair. My hand patted his shoulder while he sat upright. Whispering for him to get cleaned up in one of the empty clinic rooms, he nodded gratefully and left.

Evangeline was hooked up to several monitors, a new bag of b***d and saline hung from the IV poles. Her heart was steady while her breathing was even. Her body was now clean of debris and hair freshly washed. Trinity looked a lot like her Mother regarding her hair and some facial features, but there were stark differences in their build. Evangeline was on the skinny side, mostly from not eating, but she had a leaner figure with her bone structure. Trinity was built like her father; I didn’t care what Trinity said about being too curvy; she was muscle.

Thick, tasty muscle that I wanted to massage with my tongue with.

“We’ll protect you,” I whispered to her. “We will take you and Trinty far away from this awful place and destroy what that monster has done to you both.” The urge to protect both Trinity and her Mother was strong. She had birthed my mate; she kept the secret that Trinity did not belong to a mafia leader to save her. How many lies did she tell, how many nights she sat up wondering if that crazed lunatic would take her away?

Trinity’s Mother bared the burden to give her daughter a life, even if it meant sacrificing her own.

Fingers began to twitch under the clasp of the oxygen monitor. Grey eyes fluttered open, staring back at me. Coughing, I grabbed a glass of water by the bed, putting a straw in the lid to help her drink.

“Calm down, it’s alright. Folen will be back,” I tried to soothe. Of course, she would wake up right when Folen left. “Trinity is safe too; just rest.” Evangeline shook her head. Sweat was dripping down her grey forehead.

“I’ve got to… I’ve got to warn her.” Evangeline went to pull out the IV in her hand. I put mine over hers, pushing her back.

“Warn her about what? You are too weak. Let me help you.” Evangeline’s heart spiked quickly, nurses started to flood the room. One held a needle to put into her IV bag.

“Relax, you might feel disoriented by the antibiotics. You are on strong doses.”

“They are coming for her; he wants her to marry…” Evangeline began to sputter. “He will take her, protect her!” She screamed. Folen ran back into the room, his hair wet from the shower and just a towel around his waist. Pushing me aside, he put his hand in hers.

“I’m here, my Love; Trinity is safe. The two prince werewolves will take care of her; Matteo will not succeed.” Evangeline shook her head again, becoming more violent.

“A fox! He is a fox! Matteo had an agreement,…he changed to a…” the medicine had already worked through the clear plastic tube. It made its way through Evangeline’s arm. She lay limp as Folen put her gently down on the mattress.

“I’m sorry, Alpha,” the nurse pulled back. “She was hurting herself.” Scratches were on her arms; her IV had started to pull out of her skin, making the hole deeper, bleeding. Folen was shaking in anger that his mate was hurt yet again, but no one was to blame.

“It’s alright, just get this cleaned up.” My hand ran down my face, frustrated. This was not a marriage alliance with just an ordinary billionaire to save a business and get some new wife. There was more, and a fox was involved. Foxes were incredibly smart, cunning, and had a way with words, similar to the fae. Except, they adapted to the human world all too well. A good fox gone bad would be trouble.
