Her Forever

(Book 2)- Chapter 59

Jack

We arrived just under an hour to Farheldra, it was cold and desolate and there was only one motel in the entire town. There was a small grocery story but it already looked closed at 6pm. The caravan we had been leading had just caught up and pulled into the motel parking lot.

Jumping out, I slammed the door and looked on to several of the men who were ready in basketball shorts and shirts, ready to disembowel any one that stood in their way to get their Luna and my mate back. My knuckles cracked as I waited impatiently for the last of the group to gather. “Alpha, your aura is seeping through too much, they don’t know if you are going to kill them or lead them,” Keith’s voice repeated in my head as I tried to calm my posture and my voice. Closing my eyes I could only see Sampson staring back at me in warning that if we didn’t find her soon, he would be taking over.

Letting out a small breath, I began to relay the news, “Sorceress Bodhi and several covens from Bergarian are coming to help. The only one to attack is Anana. There is a demon possessed by Anana but the possession is too great to save her, unless other witches can help extract it in time. I told them no promises if she would be alive. Most of the wolves nodded their heads in agreement and growled at the thought of a dirty demon touching my mate. “We wait here until further instructions, she is close. Trackers, I want you to scout the area, see if you smell anything. You. Do. Not. Engage. If you find the location. Immediately link us and we will come to you. Clear?”

“Clear alpha.” The 20 trackers took off into the woods while we stormed the small motel reception desk. Asking for all their rooms, which were not-surprisingly all vacant, I handed out the keys.

“Excuse me?” the desk clerk spoke quietly. He could clearly feel my dominance even though he was just human. “Can I ask why you all are in town” I raised an eyebrow at him, he’s got balls to ask me that. “It’s just that,” he stuttered, “we don’t get many people from out of town. Are you from the IRS? I swear I will pay my taxes.” If I wasn’t in such a pissed off mood I would have laughed at him.

“No, not that. We are looking for someone.” I pulled out my wallet and showed him a picture of Rosalie. It was a picture of her at the preschool with the crying pup that would only settle in her arms at the time. After that, he seemed to calm down quite nicely for everyone else. “Seen her?” The clerk shook his head.

“I’ll be sure to keep an eye out, sir. We don’t get many people vistin’ here. I’ll let you know.” Nodding my head, I went outside to take in my surroundings. Using my hearing I couldn’t hear anything besides the faint padding of paws hitting the ground of my trackers going around the area. It was quiet, too quiet. Knowing the information we had now about a demon possessing Anana it made more sense.

Most demons were alright to get along with. They did their jobs for Hades and did their own business of his, which was mainly guarding hell, taking souls to and from both the mortal world and supernatural world when needed. There were some demons positioned for his warriors and some for punishment. They were created by Hades himself and he was proud of most of his creatures and kept great tabs on them. I wonder how this little fucker got out.

One of the trackers came out of the woods and pulled on his shorts, he hadn’t been out long and Sampson was getting a bit riled up for not obeying orders.

“Alpha,” the young pup bowed lowly. Usually, that is done when there was fear, and he should be.

“Speak.” Sampson spoke for me, causing the pup to tremble.

“We can’t use our mind-link here. I’ve been sent by your father to let you know. There is a disturbance in a nearby clearing but we don’t understand what it is. When we try using our senses to get a better feel of our surroundings we only get confused. Mindlinks, smell and vision are all affected.” The boy got on his knees, sensing Sampson about to explode.

“Rise, let them know we are coming,” Sampson stood forth. Sampson tried mind-linking Keith and got nothing but static. We would be going in blind , not being able to smell fear, see in the dark or use other senses. Grabbing my phone out of my pocket I dialed his number.

“We’ve got a problem,” I didn’t let him answer. “No one can mindlink and our senses are down. We must be close. Call Bodhi and head to the SouthWest clearing of the motel. My father might have something.” I shut the call and ran into the woods in human form, fear that Sampson would take over in a bit of rage and rip anything and anyone that stood in our way.

The sun had just set, the lingering sun rays were slowly filtering in the forest’s branches. It was quiet, the only thing I could hear were my own footsteps which was abnormal. Trying to use my senses, my vision even felt as though everything was too dark. I could only amount to being very close to Rosalie, which made my heart race a little faster. There was a clearing in the middle of the woods, there wasn’t a ray of light shining on the area to let me know this is where she was being kept, but I had a feeling.

My father walked up to me and gently put his hand on my shoulder and nodded his head over where the others were standing. Following quietly we all sat behind a large fallen tree that was at least 200 years old. It had started to rot and the wood looked to be half used since it was only half the tree. Several trackers were talking among themselves but stopped once they spotted me. They didn’t even hear me coming. s**t, we are screwed.

“I’ve never dealt with anything like this,” my father spoke gruffly. “What the hell is this? This isn’t just dark magic it ‘s something else to mask all of our senses like that. The magic I’ve seen they can mask themselves, not all of us,” my father ground his teeth in frustration. My father always had an attitude problem, there were many times as a child while on the training field seeing him spill his wrath on his beta when he talked back. Beta Alonzo was a spitfire but also my father’s best friend, yet still couldn’t keep his mouth shut.

“I’m gonna kill that f*****g witch, taking a luna like that. F**k.” My father also had a bit of a foul mouth. The pack was getting restless not just at my father but knowing their luna was here, somewhere.

“Father, you have to calm down, you are supposed to be helping me with my anger, not the other way around.” Sampson was clawing at me now, pissed that I wasn’t ripping everyone’s head off for not finding Rosalie. I had to be calm about this, she was close. I could almost feel it through the bond. Even though our surroundings were severely numbed I could feel the faint trouble she was feeling.

She was alive, I knew that. Sampson continues to sniff and pace in my mind, thinking he might have caught her wolf, Marigold.

Keith trotted up beside us, on the phone finishing up the call while my father pulled me to the side. “This isn’t witch magic or dark magic is it? What is it? What are you not telling us?” he said, exhausted. He decided to run with the others, he was more upset that he was locked in the same house as Rosalie and couldn’t do anything to protect my mate. Hell, I was mad at myself and I was just a few hundred yards away.

“Demon,” I growled. My father’s eyes grew wide at the realization.

“s**t, I hadn’t seen one of those in years,” my father sighed.

“It’s a powerful one, one that took over her body and made her succumb to evil slowly making her a rogue and now he is in complete control. He knows Hades is coming for him so he is causing the most damage he can.”

Keith quickly hung up the phone and came up to me. “Five minutes, there are three covens including Bodhi’s that will arrive here in the next five minutes. We also may have another damn problem,” Keith gripped the phone harshly. “Hades.”

My eyes widened. Hades hasn’t been out of hell in who knows how long, none in my lifetime and from the looks of my father’s face not during his either. “Hades is powerful, there is no doubt he will get his demon but at what cost? This entire place will be up in flames and kill us all if he gets too angry,” my father spoke.

“That’s why we are going to get Rosalie out of here and let him deal with his problem. Spread the word, get Rosalie, get out. Let Hades deal with his demon and get out of the crossfire. The rest of the wolves around us heard the order and some spread out to the other areas where others were hiding. The entire clearing was surrounded and not one sound, except for ours surrounded the area.

Once the news had spread, we felt the wind behind us and as we turned we saw a large crowd of witches and warlocks dressed in their combat uniforms. Leather corsets, arm and leg braces as well as some equip with bags of small orbs at their sides. A few had wands, which means they must be in training to help harness their powers. The pack looked on in excitement to see how many supernaturals came to help. I knew better however, they came here with a reason and it wasn’t just to save my dear mate.

Bohdi came up to me and took off her hood that covered her face. Her smile was warm and I held out her hand and grasped her forearm. “I am forever grateful for you being here,” I gave a small smile. My father also took out his hand to grab her forearm in greeting as well.

“Alpha Odin, it’s good to see you. I see retirement has been good to you at Blue Waters, your tan is impeccable,” my father chuckled and bowed his head. He never could talk to other women besides his mate and mine very well. Bohdi enjoyed toying with him all those years.

“As much as I want to say we are here to save your mate, there are other reasons why we are here as you are aware.” I nodded. “The witch has committed treason against the Moon Kingdom by trying to erase a bond a few years ago to a princess. Now she is expected to pay the fine but now knowing there is a demon in her instead we might be able to save her once Hades has extracted the demon. That is, if he is in a good mood,” she trailed off.

Hades was never in a good mood.

“Do you have your plan in place, Alpha Storm?” Bohdi asked after staring off into the clearing.

“Yes, get Rosalie, get out. We will let you handle the witch and Hades. We want no part in that. Just make sure she doesn’t come back,” I growled.

“Not to worry. Hades will make the demon suffer a long time,” she winked. “Let’s get this party started then hmm?” Bohdi looked back and nodded while all the magic each coven could muster cleared the air of the sense cloaking. The pack could feel their senses coming back as some wolves started sniffing the air and several looking at their surroundings since the sunset had fallen.

What startled me the most was the most unbearable pain in my chest. The pain I knew wasn’t my own but for my dear mate. Clutching my chest, I took a knee and let out a large howl as Sampson came forward to break through my mind barrier. He was pissed and he was going to spill b***d, our plan be damned.
