(Book 2)- Chapter 54
Rosalie
“R-rogues?” I stuttered. “That can’t be right.” Most of the literature I had read talked about how beastly and terrible rogues are. Their wolves slowly consume them and they become more wild as the years progress until finally their wolves take over for lack of companionship. However, these kids seem to be perfectly fine, it must have just happened recently.
“Lolli, are you the speaker for this group?” Jack said authoritatively.
“Yes, sir,” she replied.
“If you could please explain to your Luna why you are here we will then head down to dinner.” I put Aria down and Lolli took her hand again as Aria went behind her. The twins kept switching their footing back and forth looking at each other.
“Long story short,” Lolli began, “we lost our pack a month or so ago. Our parents didn’t survive the rival pack’s attack and we have been in the city using shelters and tried blending into society there but our wolves couldn’t handle it. We couldn’t shift like we wanted with so many humans, so we left.” Lolli held a sad look in her eye as she looked at her siblings. “Then we stayed in the woods for the past week, wandering. We could smell your territory and were hoping if the Alpha was willing we could start a new life in your pack.”
My eyes brimmed with tears listening to their story. Aria held tightly to Lolli’s hand and the twins continued to stare at the floor. They had lost their parents and have been on their own for weeks. Now paying attention to their clothes, they were dirty and tattered, holes throughout. The one bag they had maybe held another storage of clothes and food. My heart broke hearing their story and immediately went to Lolli and hugged her. She was taken aback but put her arms around me.
“How old are you hun?” My face was muffled but she still understood me. Lolli was a good head taller than me but I couldn’t help trying to comfort her.
“I-I just turned 21.” Sitting back up keeping both hands on her shoulders I smiled.
“Welcome to the pack, all of you.” Glancing at all of them they gave small smiles and we led them to dinner.
They had come from a small pack, Guiding Fire, located in Canada known for their large bonfire parties in the winter. Jack explained they had only been around for 20 years, one of the newest packs of North America. Their father was the Alpha. “There aren’t many of us, just close to 100 but that was all we needed,” Phillip spoke. They were to be the new Alpha’s but were still too young to take on the role. They both turned 13 just a few months prior and the death of their parents, especially their father hit them hard. They had been training to become alpha when they were ready and now they were lost and broken, almost no hope for training.
“Dinner was great, thank you Alpha, Luna.” Lolli spoke again for the group. She was the oldest of the group, taking care of them while they had been wandering the past month. Lolli was definitely a mother figure, she was always checking on Aria and the boys with care, but you could see sadness in her eyes. I knew she didn’t have time to grieve, none of them did and it hurt me painfully to see them that way.
Jack stood up and took a chalice that I had never seen before and cut his palm. The b***d slowly dripped into the cup, enough for Lolli to drink since she was the only one of age to shift, the boys had three more years. “Lolli, I, Alpha Jack Storm of the Night Crawlers have inducted you and your family to this pack. You are to honour your Alpha and Luna as well as your superiors. If any of you break the Laws of the Wolf you could be punished, banished or even death. Do you accept these terms for the exchange of safety and family?” Lolli took a shaky breath. “Yes, we do.” Taking the chalice she drank down Jack’s b***d.
I could hear Jack include me in the mind-link as he spoke to the whole pack of the new arrivals. I couldn’t hear them back because I had yet to go through my Luna ceremony but Lolli had a few tears roll down her cheeks. This had to be hard for her, to join another pack and start all over, the loss of parents and friends. I wanted to help as much as I could, and would.
Jack’s POV
Rosalie’s Luna characteristics took over immediately as she saw the young child. Aria was too scared to speak to anyone while I met with them in my office earlier that day. The boys were pretty stoic, they hadn’t learned the proper ways to address an alpha or the proceedings in which switching packs but that was to be expected. They were young and had only just begun the process of being trained to be alphas.
“I will offer to train you both to be alphas of a new pack you could create,” I spoke to them sternly as I folded my hands together and laid them on the desk. Both looked in shock but nodded their heads eagerly. An alpha offering another alpha training was highly unorthodox but I felt for them, they thought their home pack would be over, but starting over, giving them a fresh start could be good. I’ll train them as well as have them travel to other packs to see the different dynamics.
Lolli didn’t speak much, she gave the exact same description of her and her siblings time away from their destroyed home. It was an instant red flag how she was able to produce the same words exactly. I felt Rosalie’s sorrow for the young children but something was off and I wasn’t sure if Rosalie could sense it too.
Rosalie had a few new houses built while we were gone, they were easy to put up, she mentioned they are factory made homes and are done quickly when you don’t have any specific specifications to follow such as colors and certain building materials. We didn’t deal with harsh wind so the idea appealed to me since our pack was growing so rapidly.
Rosalie led us down a newly made path and held the key in her hand, excitement overwhelmed her as she put her arm linked with Lolli, she was hoping for friendship with someone her age. I didn’t blame her, Amanda was in her 40’s and Benjamin was nearing 30.
“Here we are!” She sang triumphantly as she unlocked the door. Several omegas were in charge of setting the house with furniture, linens and cookware. Rosalie said it was important to have at least a few houses like this so anyone that needed refuge would find it homey, and it was a beautiful home for a fraction of the cost of the others.
The colors were warm, deep reds with pops of yellow and latte colored tan filled the walls. Warm blankets spread on the couches and fresh food had already been put in the fridge per my request. The family looked in awe and the little girl giggled and ran to jump up and down on the couch. Rosalie laughed at Aria and Rosalie swung in to catch her before she fell. “Your room is upstairs, do you want to see?” Aria nodded and ran up the stairs. Each new home had a boys and girls rooms with bunk beds plus 2 adult bedrooms. I’m sure the twins could figure out where they wanted to sleep.
Lolli started crying and Rosalie immediately went to her and led her to the couch and put a blanket on her shoulders. My Luna was the epitome of perfection. She held her as she cried and patted her head. The boys looked up to me with tears in their own eyes. I’m not much of a hugger but the young boys looked like they needed something. I went up to them to put my hand on their backs for encouragement but they immediately engulfed me. For young boys they were strong to be able to have me step back.
“T-thank you so much.” Lolli cried. Rosalie still had her arms around her.
“It is alright, you are safe here,” she cooed. “If there is anything you need. Let me know alright? Several omegas are going to go out and get you all some clothes to last a few days and then I’ll take you shopping.” Lolli let out another sob and Rosalie looked at me with questions.
“Something is not right.” Rosalie mind-linked me. “There is more to their story, I can almost hear it in the undertone of her voice.” She looked back as Lolli full of concern.
“There are a lot of red flags, but when there are children involved I have to be lenient. I’ll be having warriors staying close.” I replied back.
“We are going to leave you guys here to settle in. If you need anything, please come to the pack house. Dinner is at 7.” Rosalie goes to leave with me, hand in hand and we left them there.

“What do you think it is?” Rosalie asked as she was doing her bedroom routine. The washcloth was in her hand and she had a hand on her h*p. She was mid-scrub and her cat eyeliner was about to smudge down her face.
“I don’t know,” I shook my head. “There is more to their story, I know that. I couldn’t reject them and I couldn’t have them live here and leave them in limbo until I figured it out. Pups shouldn’t be left out in the cold like that and I can’t have them susceptible to becoming rogue. It can happen in kids even though their wolves haven’t appeared,” I said worried.
Rosalie sighed and finished washing her face and brushed her teeth. Padding over the bed in a pair of purple satin shorts and tank top she cuddled up next to me. Her mind was wandering and her heart filled with pity and sorrow. “What are you thinking, Kitten?”
“Do you think their parents are really dead?” I looked at her in shock.
“Of course, they were crying and upset,” I said.
“Or, maybe upset because of guilt. You didn’t see the others bawling like Lolli did,” she pointed out.
“The others maybe had time to grieve and she didn’t?”
Rosalie blew out some air in frustration. The gears were turning in her head and the scowl on her face was adorable. Kissing her forehead longingly she climbed on top of me to sleep. This position will never get old, being her mattress has become my favorite thing. Her finger tickled my mark and she giggled as goosebumps came on my skin.
Before I could seduce my sweet mate to have me, there was rapid knocking on the door. Rosalie sat up and looked at the door and back at me. “It’s late, who is that?”
Benjamin didn’t wait to be summoned in, he opened the door. His breathing was rapid and he looked around the room. Rosalie’s eyes met his and he smiled. Running to the bed, Sampson let out a loud growl and Benjamin fell to his knees.
“Babe, it is just Benji what are you doing?”
“Mine.” Sampson broke through. Damnit
Rosalie climbed off and helped Benjamin off the floor. “She’s here!” he panted, not worried at all that Sampson yelled at him.
“Who?” Rosalie c****d her head to the side.
“My mate! I smell her!!” Benjamin ranted. Rosalie’s eyes grew wide and grabbed both his hands and started jumping up and down and Benjamin followed. I realized Rosalie wasn’t wearing a bra and her breasts were freely jumping about. Jumping out of bed I grabbed her so Benjamin couldn’t see and Rosalie whined.
“Baaaaaabe! You are killing the moment!”
“Your t**s were flying about, I don’t need him seeing.” Rosalie blushed and covered herself with her arms and peeked behind me.
“Well, who is she?”
“I don’t know, someone new I think, she didn’t have our pack smell. Who visited today? I can’t find her! I could smell her all over the private dining room!” Rosalie gasped and then screamed.
“Lolli!!!”
