Her Billionaire Husband

Chapter 1277

Amidst the gaze of everyone in the factory, a woman dressed in ancient attire appeared. The wind rushed into the warehouse, causing the woman’s ancient costume to flutter. Her red and black skirt billowed, her hair danced in the air, emanating a heroic aura as if she were a triumphant female general returning from the battlefield.

Matthew Kings stopped in his tracks, frozen in astonishment as he watched the woman approach. There was a ten-meter distance between them, allowing Matthew Kings to clearly see the bloodstains on Veronica Murphy’s face and hands. His heart skipped a beat, almost leaping out of his throat.

“Roni?”

He called out her name, but his voice unintentionally carried a hoarse tone. Unbeknownst to him, his trembling hands by his side went unnoticed.

Matthew Kings rushed forward and tightly embraced her, holding her in his arms. With one hand gripping her clothes, he closed his eyes and took a deep breath. “I’m sorry, I’m late.”

Being held tightly in his embrace, Veronica Murphy struggled to catch her breath. However, this caused her wound to be grazed by Straight Flush, eliciting a hiss of pain. Matthew Kings immediately released her, asking anxiously, “Are you seriously injured?”

The others who had followed witnessed Veronica Murphy’s arrival and hurried into the warehouse. Veronica Murphy looked at Matthew Kings and smiled, “It’s alright, just a minor injury on my shoulder.”

Facing each other, Veronica Murphy finally noticed Matthew Kings’ pale face, bloodshot eyes, and a terrifying shade of red. For the first time, she felt Matthew Kings’ panic and helplessness, along with his deep concern for her.

“Let me check if you’re injured elsewhere.”

Matthew Kings held her shoulders with both hands, carefully examining her. He found no signs of cuts on her attire, but he still worried, “There’s blood on your face and hands, where are you injured?”

Could it be a serious internal injury? Veronica Murphy lowered her head and noticed her hands stained with bright red blood. Shaking her head, she replied, “It’s not my blood.”

Indeed, it wasn’t her blood. Hearing her words, Matthew Kings’ tense nerves relaxed completely. He embraced Veronica Murphy tightly, rubbing his cheek against hers affectionately. “Roni, it’s my fault for being late.”

He couldn’t bear to imagine what would have happened if Veronica Murphy didn’t have the ability to protect herself and he arrived even later. How would he continue living?

Veronica Murphy rested her cheek against his collarbone, her smile sweet as she gently patted Matthew Kings on the back. “Do you really think so little of your wife? I’m perfectly fine, you know.”

Continuing to reassure Matthew Kings, Veronica Murphy added, “If I didn’t have what it takes, how could I ever be deserving of you?”

Caleb Shaw, Miguel Lynch, Troy Ritter, Thomas Ritter, and others were all present. The lights of a car in the distance illuminated the surroundings, resembling stage lights shining upon the main characters. Above, snowflakes gracefully fell from the sky, creating a picturesque scene that exuded a bittersweet happiness, evoking envy in others.

Miguel Lynch crossed his arms and playfully nudged Caleb Shaw with his elbow. “Look, it truly makes people envious.”

Caleb Shaw glanced at him and retorted, “Only those who are single would feel envious.”

Troy Ritter and Thomas Ritter exchanged glances, finding Caleb Shaw’s remark amusing. Feeling teased, Miguel Lynch frowned and defiantly declared, “Do you believe that if I wanted to, I could find you a sister-in-law within a week?”

As soon as he finished speaking, Caleb Shaw looked at him with a serious expression, a hint of doubt in his eyes. “I don’t believe you.”

His tone seemed to imply, “If you’re truly capable, then find one for me and prove it.”
