Her Billionaire Husband

Chapter 1276

“I sent many people to search in Blue Star Lake, but Ben couldn’t find Veronica Murphy,” Sam Symons replied cautiously, trembling with fear.

“How many people did you send?” he asked again.

Sam Symons responded, “As soon as Veronica Murphy fell into the water, I immediately sent two members of the rescue team down. Then, the crew members also jumped in to search together, but they couldn’t find her. After that, I contacted the rescue team, and more than a dozen people searched the lake, but still couldn’t find her.”

Although Sam Symons didn’t understand why Matthew Kings suddenly came to question him, he honestly explained the situation.

Listening to his words, Matthew Kings turned his head and exchanged a glance with Miguel Lynch beside him. They nodded, both having an idea in their minds.

If Veronica Murphy fell into the water and they immediately sent people to search, and then added a rescue team to search underwater, it would inevitably mean that Veronica Murphy was no longer in the water.

With her skills, she wouldn’t be so passive in the water, and there wouldn’t even be any struggle marks on the surface.

Matthew Kings didn’t say anything more and turned to walk towards the lounge. At the entrance, he ran into Eviette Robins head-on.

“Matt, you’re here?”

Seeing Matthew Kings’ worried expression, Eviette Robins seemed to sense his concern for Veronica Murphy. “You’re here because of Veronica, right?”

Matthew Kings was concerned about Veronica Murphy’s safety and didn’t have time to pay attention to Eviette Robins. “I have something to do, we’ll talk later.”

He left a sentence and walked away without looking back, accompanied by Miguel Lynch.

Eviette Robins stood in place with a disappointed look, watching his gradually disappearing figure. Her heart was filled with mixed emotions, like a jar of vinegar overturned. In the lounge, Sam Symons and Director Zhao walked out.

After Matthew Kings walked far away, the two of them breathed a sigh of relief. “Phew, luckily Veronica Murphy is fine. If she really died, we

would probably be implicated too.”

Upon hearing this, Eviette Robins looked puzzled. “Sam Symons, are you saying… are you saying Veronica Murphy is not dead?”

“She has been taken to the hospital, she’s fine. You don’t need to worry about it.” Sam Symons was in a bad mood and didn’t want to see anyone or talk to Eviette Robins.

Eviette Robins’s mood was like a roller coaster, experiencing ups and downs, feeling both amused and confused. One second ago, she was shocked and worried about Veronica Murphy’s death, but now she knew she was alive, yet she felt a bit disappointed.

“She’s fine, that’s good.”

Melvin Winson, who came over, stood beside her and said. Eviette Robins stood at the door, watching Matthew Kings walk away in a hurry and with a worried expression. He seemed so concerned, it didn’t seem like he didn’t care about Veronica Murphy anymore. Does he still love Veronica Murphy?

“Anyone would be anxious and worried in a situation like this,” Melvin Winson comforted her. After all, even though they were ‘divorced’, Veronica Murphy was still the mother of their two children, and as her ex-husband, he couldn’t just ignore her.

“Yeah.”

Eviette Robins nodded slightly, withdrew her gaze, and turned away.

Matthew Kings and the others searched for Veronica Murphy and finally received news of her whereabouts before it got dark. They all rushed to the place where Veronica Murphy was captured.

The wind was raging, and the snow didn’t stop for a day, falling down in a flurry, covering the ground in a blanket of white.

When Matthew Kings and the others found an old factory in a remote industrial area, Matthew Kings stopped the car, unbuckled his seatbelt, and rushed towards the dilapidated building. He was extremely anxious, he even forgot to turn off the car.

“Roni, please be safe!”

Matthew Kings ran and prayed at the same time. The winter night came unusually early. Although it was only a little after 4 pm, it was already pitch black, and the surroundings were only illuminated by the headlights of the car.

After Matthew Kings got out of the car, more than a dozen people appeared behind him and rushed forward.

And just as the man sprinted to the entrance of the dilapidated building, the heavy iron door of the factory was pushed open, making a creaking sound, as if it had opened the gears of time that had been sealed for many years.
