Heartstrings on Fire

Chapter 778

Chapter 778
After Agnes finished her breakfast, she headed off to the TV station.
As soon as Agnes stepped foot into the News Department, practically all of her colleagues swarmed around her.
“Agnes, you’re incredible, how did you manage to do it? You’ve solved a major issue for the government.”
“Your article has already broken this year’s record for most views, and it’s only been a few hours. Agnes, you’re absolutely
amazing.”
“The photos were just fantastic! I was in tears just looking at them. They really touched my heart.”
“I cried as well.”
“I’ve made my decision. I’m going to adopt a stray cat. The Fabians are so kindhearted. It’s outrageous how they were portrayed
in the previous reports.” Agnes‘ desk was nearly swamped by the crowd.
“Are you all done with work? What are you all doing crowding around here, having a tea party?”
Yolanda’s voice came.
Everyone quickly stepped back, making a path for Yolanda.
Yolanda, in her high heels, marched over to Agnes.
“Agnes, do you know that all manuscripts need my approval before being published? You published your article directly on the
station’s website without sending it to me. The station is a government entity. Can you shoulder the responsibility if something
goes wrong?”
Yolanda was aggressive.
Ramona interjected, “Agnes‘ article didn’t cause any problems. In fact, it broke several records for the station and brought
unprecedented traffic. Instead of praising her, you’re actually blaming her, Yolanda.”
Yolanda glared at Ramona. “What do you know? As media professionals, we need to be careful. If we don’t need any review and
just publish whatever we want, who will take responsibility when something goes wrong?”

“Agnes is a journalist, so she has the right to do so.” Another colleague argued.
Yolanda was livid. “Do you not take me seriously at all? Get back to work. The News Department doesn’t need employees who
don’t follow their supervisor’s instructions.”
Yolanda was clearly furious.
Although everyone was not pleased with her, she was, after all, the head of the News Department.
They had no choice but to return to their desks, looking sympathetically at Agnes.
Agnes had made quite a splash this time, probably sparking Yolanda’s jealousy once again.
Yolanda said to Agnes, “Come to my office.”
Agnes stood up and followed Yolanda to her office.
As soon as Agnes entered the office, the others in the office rose to their feet, pressing their ears against the door to eavesdrop.
Yolanda sat in her chair, arms crossed, the embodiment of authority. “Agnes, you clearly don’t respect me. You haven’t done
anything I’ve asked of you properly. For someone who disregards their supervisor and doesn’t follow rules, the News Department
really can’t accommodate you. I suggest you write a resignation letter.”
When Yolanda knew Agnes was applying for the job, she just wanted to keep her around to torture her.
Yolanda knew Agnes used to be a pushover. But to her surprise, Agnes had only been here for a few days, and Yolanda was
nearly at her breaking point.
All the credit and limelight had been stolen by Agnes, and now everyone was standing by her side. So, Yolanda was now eager
to get rid of Agnes. Agnes said, “Yolanda, what have I done wrong for you to fire
