Hearts On Fire

Chapter 9:

Meanwhile in the kitchen Thorne and Miranda kissing

Amaya: “Oh my God!!”

Miranda “Did you just applaud?”

Amaya: “Of course, my bestie is mating.”

Miranda: “We’re not mating. We just woke up and came here to eat.”

Amaya: “Yeah, sure. I can see how hungry you are…eating each other.”

Thorne: “I'm glad you're okay, Amaya. I'll leave the two of you alone. I'll see you later, gorgeous. I'll be in our room if you need me.”

Miranda: “I'm so happy you didn't die.”

Amaya: “Really nice thing to say.”

Miranda: “Well it's true. I was so worried.”

Amaya: “Worried you say?”

Miranda: “Of course I was.”

Amaya: “You have something on your face.”

Miranda: “What?!”

Amaya: “You're drooling over your mate. Why don't I see a mark on your neck?”

Miranda: “I told you we didn't mate nor mark each other.”

Amaya: “Why?! It's obvious you love each other already.”

Miranda: “I couldn't do it until I knew that you were okay. We were all out of our minds worried about you. You don't hate me?”

Amaya: “No, why would I hate you?”

Miranda: “For bringing you here.”

Amaya: “Oh. I'm okay with that.”

Miranda: “You are?!”

Amaya: “Yes.”

Miranda: “I'm so happy.”

Amaya: “I have so many questions, I need them answered.”

Miranda: “You wanna tell me you're staying here only because of that?”

Amaya: “Fine…I'm staying here for Azar too.”

Miranda: “Do you feel the bond?”

Amaya: “I don't know but I definitely feel something.”

Miranda: “Eeekkk!! So you're feeling better now?”

Amaya: “I am, better than ever actually.”

Miranda: “Oh my God, bub. You're so perfect for each other.”

Amaya: “Slow down, I wanna take this slow. What?”

Miranda: “Since when are you patient? And he's so dreamy.”

Amaya: “You have a mate, Miranda!! Azar’s mine!!”

Miranda: “Taking things slow, huh?”

Amaya: “I don't know what came over me.”

Miranda: “Jealousy.”

Amaya: “Shut up.”

Miranda: “Well you just called him yours.”

Amaya: “How did we even get here?”

Miranda: “You are out for hours. I was so scared and didn't know what to do so I ran to find Thorne to get Azar to you. You should’ve seen how he acted. He's so protective over you. He picked you up in his strong arms and carried you out.”

Amaya: “I woke up with him next to me. So I started screaming and punching him. I freaked out okay?”

Miranda: “You're always too dramatic.”

Amaya: “I can't argue on that one.”

Miranda: “Are you hungry?”

Amaya: “What do you think I'm doing in the kitchen? I'm as hungry as a wolf.”

Miranda: “Nice choice of words. (both laugh - on the balcony)”

In Amaya’s head: Oh wow!! What an amazing view. After eating like a starved animal, I convinced Miranda to go back to her mate. I didn't want her to miss him just out of her worry for me. She's already done too much for me…way too much. It's finally her time to be happy. Her and Thorne are adorable. I can see how they are perfect for each other. He'll love her and make her happy for the rest of their lives and I…strangely, I felt like I'm home. A home that I never had. I remember how much I wanted that as a child but it was nothing but torture. And here, I feel like I can finally breathe again.

Azar: “Amaya? I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to scare you.”

Amaya: “It's okay, I just didn't hear you.”

Azar: “I need to always remind myself again that you're human.”

Amaya: “Don't worry about it.”

Azar: “How are you feeling?”

Amaya: “I'm great, thank you. I was admiring the view. It's beautiful out here.”

Azar: “I'm glad that you like it. Do you want me to get you something to eat?”

Amaya: “I already ate, thanks. Where have you been?”

Azar: “I was training.”

Amaya: “You train a lot. I can tell how strong your body is.”

Azar: “You've been checking me out?”

Amaya: “You're shirtless all the time, what do you expect me to do?”

Azar: “And do you like what you see?”

Amaya: “I do but don't get too smug.”

Azar: “Do you maybe wanna go for a walk with me? It's perfectly fine if you don't feel like it but you said you like it here so maybe you would want me to show you around. There are so many beautiful places I’d like to show you.”

Amaya: “I would love that. What?”

Azar: “You seem different.”

Amaya: “You mean, I'm not running around screaming and punching everyone?”

Azar: “Exactly.”

Amaya: “Let's say I'm in a good mood but piss me off and I’ll punch you again.”

In Azar’s head: She's so precious.

Blaise: “She is. Our little flame.”

Azar: “I just need to have a shower, then we can go.”

In Amaya’s head: I'm already imagining him in the shower.

Azar: “Thinking of me naked? I'll see you in a little while, little flame.”

In Amaya’s head: Little flame? How adorable is that? Does this count as a date?! Oh God!! I need to get ready. (Amaya’s room). I think I have what I need. A little bit of makeup…and he’s here.

Azar: “Are you ready, doll?”

Amaya: “I am. Now you're checking me out.”

Azar: “You look absolutely stunning.”

In Azar’s head: Just look at her, she's blushing.

Blaise: “Mate likes us.”

Azar: “Let's go then. (in the woods by a big lake and mountains). Do you like it here?”

Amaya: “Are you kidding me? I love it.”

Azar: “That makes me really happy.”

Amaya: “Come on!! This is the most beautiful view ever.”

Azar: “I agree.”

In Amaya’s head: Without thinking, I came closer to him and touched his hand. I don't know…I felt this need to be around him. For instance, I felt that maybe I made a wrong decision but Azar wrapped his hand around mine without saying a word.

In Azar’s head: I felt sparks everywhere as her skin touched mine. Her hand was so tiny and I didn't wanna say anything. The moment was perfect and the both of us wanted to savor it. Looks like none of us wanted to move. I yearned for more but for now…this was enough. Her just wanting to be around me made me the happiest wolf ever.

Azar: “Why did you cover up your scar?”

Amaya: “It reminds me of my past and it makes me feel ugly.”

Azar: “Scars are not, you're the most beautiful girl. Your brother did that to you?”

Amaya: “Yes.”

Azar: “You know you can tell me anything.”

Amaya: “I know but I just…maybe one day.”

Azar: “What about your parents?”

Amaya: “My father is dead and my mother…well, you've seen my memory. You can get the idea. They were all the same towards me. Your eyes just changed red. Why?”

Azar: “Because it makes me furious that they hurt you.”

Amaya: “It's okay, I'm okay now. I ran away. I can see flames dancing in your eyes. I love how they glow but I didn't get the chance to tell you, you surprised me when you came into my room with black eyes. They’re so dark…so beautiful. Do they change depending on your emotions?”

Amaya: “Yes.”

Amaya: “Calm down, please. Let's not bring up the past. I wanna bury it. I don't know about you but this moment is perfect for me. I don't want the demons of my past to ruin it for us. Now that’s better.”

Azar: “You're right. Do you wanna see the waterfall?”

Amaya: “Yes!! What are you waiting for?! (deeper in the woods by the waterfall)”

Azar: “Wanna jump in?”

Amaya: “What?!”

Azar: “We can go for a swim.”

Amaya: “I don't know how to swim. What if I drown?!”

Azar: “Do you think that I would let you drown?”

Amaya: “No.”

Azar: “Do you trust me?”

Amaya: “Yes…”

Azar: “I adore the way you're looking at me. Your turn.”

Amaya: “What for?”

Azar: “To undress. You don't wanna go all the way back home in a wet dress.”

Amaya: “That's just an excuse to see me naked.”

Azar: “Maybe. Jokes aside…we don't need to do this if you're not comfortable or if you're scared of jumping.”

Amaya: “I’m not scared!!!”

Azar: “Join me then!!”

Amaya: “I'll kill you if I drown or die from the fall. You didn't tell me the water was cold. How many times do I need to say that I'm a human?!”

Azar: “Come here, I'll keep you warm. Better?”

Amaya: “Don't let go of me.”

Azar: “I'll never let you go.”

Amaya: “Azar?”

Azar: “Yes, doll?”

Amaya: “Kiss me.”

Azar: “What?!”

Amaya: “I said…kiss me.”

Azar: “Are you sure about this? I don't wanna pressure you into anything.”

Amaya: “I wanna feel your lips on mine. I want you to be my first kiss.”

Azar: “Come here!!”
