Meanwhile Thorne’s family home

Thorne: “Dads?!”

In Thorne’s head: They're sleeping.

Thorne: “DADS!!”

Sammy: “What's wrong?”

Thorne: “First of all…I found my mate.”

Jessie: “Where is she?!”

Sammy: “Where’s my daughter-in?! I wanna meet her and why are you here instead of mating with her?!”

Thorne: “It's a lot complicated.”

Sammy: “Complicated how?”

Thorne: “Azar found his mate too and that's where things became messy. He might’ve burned the whole club down. I'm surprised you haven't heard about it yet. My mate and his mate are friends.”

Sammy: “Cut to the point, child. I'm losing my mind here. Did someone get hurt? Did Azar accidentally hurt his mate?”

Thorne: “No. Somehow no one got hurt but something's off. She didn't recognize Azar as her mate. She called him crazy and laughed at him.”

Sammy: “How is that possible?!”

Thorne: “I don't have a clue but that's not the only weird thing. Azar’s fire couldn’t hurt her at all and he lost control like never before.”

Jessie: “But the only person who can't feel the fire is Azrael but she's a hellhound.”

Thorne: “The list goes on. I don't have enough time and I was mesmerized by the scent of my mate then Azar’s fire. But her scent was weird.”

Sammy: “Is she hiding it?”

Thorne: “That's the worst part. She's not hiding her scent, she definitely has it.”

Sammy: “What are you trying to say?”

Thorne: “She's not a wolf.”

Sammy: “Is she a vampire?!”

Thorne: “Not a vampire for sure. I think Azar’s mate is a human.”

Sammy: “Human?!”

Jessie: “But wolves can't have human mates.”

Sammy: “OH MY GOD!! What are we gonna do?!”

Thorne: “Azar didn't realize it. (Amaya’s room Miranda’s pacing)”

In Miranda’s head: Oh God. It's been four hours since she fainted and she’s still not waking up. I don't know what to do. Something's terribly wrong.

Freya: “We need to bring her to mate. Maybe he'll know what to do.”

In Miranda’s head: But she doesn't accept the fact that she has a mate. Plus we're not sure if it's true at all. Everything is so messed up. We can't even know how they'll react if we're on their territory.

Freya: “You've seen our mate. He would never hurt us. We need to find them. No one can help us but them. We can trust them.”

In Miranda’s head: But how will her mate be able to help? We don't know what's wrong.

Freya: “Do you have any other better ideas?!”

In Miranda’s head: You're right. I don't know how to help her but maybe we should bring the doctor first? She's human after all.

Freya: “NO!! MATE!!”

Miranda: “Okay, just stop growling at me. How will we even find him?”

Freya: “You're a genius, aren't you?! I'll track our mate’s scent. You could tell they are as close as Amaya is to us.”

In Miranda’s head: We have to leave Amaya here alone. What if she gets worse?

Freya: “We’ll shift and run.”

In Miranda’s head: Okay. (Azrael’s home living room)

Azrael: “You’re telling me Azar’s mate is human?!”

Thorne: “Yes.”

Fenrir: “Where is he now?”

Thorne: “He told me he needed to be alone so I gave him time to calm down.”

Fenrir: “But wolves can't have humans as mates.”

Azrael: “Neither wolf and hellhound can be mate’s yet here we are.”

Fenrir: “You're right. Will anything normal happen to this family?!”

Thorne: “The problem is that Azar lost control like never before and he didn't even realize she's not a wolf.”

Azrael: “So she doesn't feel the bond?”

Thorne: “I don't think so but I can't be sure.”

Fenrir: “You say she wasn't hurt?”

Thorne: “No. She was completely unharmed.”

Fenrir: “Maybe she's not human. Maybe she's something else.”

Azrael: “Azar’s powers are too strong for any creature. I'm the only one that can't feel it because I'm a hellhound.”

Fenrir: “Then how come a human can endure it?”

Azrael: “The only reasonable explanation is that it's because they are mate’s.”

Fenrir: “You and I are mates and you can still burn me.”

Azrael: “Good point.”

Thorne: “But Azar isn't a hellhound as you are, auntie.”

Azrael: “But he has the powers of one.”

Thorne: “I have no idea what to think anymore.”

Fenrir: “What about your mate?”

Thorne: “She's a regular wolf.”

Azrael: “And you say the two of them are close?”

Thorne: “Yes.”

Fenrir: “But Azar’s mate knows about our kind?”

Thorne: “Yes. From what he told me, she knows what a mate is but she just doesn't believe him to be her mate. And he said she even called him a stupid wolf.”

Azrael: “This doesn't make sense.”

Fenrir: “Tell us everything from the beginning again. (Azar’s shower)”

In Azar’s head: Get her out of your head. I wanted so much but nothing helped. Blaise is worse. No matter what I did I couldn't calm down for hours. The image of her dancing with those men was repeating in my mind. the way they were touching her. How she looked at me with disgust. How she rejected me. But it seems like this cold water helps. I don't even know for how long I was standing in the shower. I feel like I have a little bit more control now. My eyes turned back to normal but when the rage started wearing off some other I'm selling it unsettling feeling kicked in. What is this? Panic? Why do I feel so weak all of a sudden? (in the garden)

Freya: “Mate is here (in the living room)”

Miranda: “Help me, please!!”

Thorne: “Mate!!”

Miranda: “I need to find Amaya's mate now!!”

Thorne: “What's going on?!”

Miranda: “Amaya collapsed. I can't wake her up.”

Azrael: “Run to her now. We’ll mindlink Azar!! (Azar’s bedroom)”

In Azar’s head: What's wrong?

Azrael’s Mindlink: “Son, something's wrong with your mate. Thorne is on his way. Follow him. Immediately!!”

In Azar’s head: This is her pain!! (Azar’s eyes turn red)”

Blaise: “Mate needs us.”

Azar: “Where is she?!”

Miranda: “The second door.”

Thorne: “Wait for us!!”

Miranda: “How is he so much faster than us?!”

Thorne: “I'll explain later, come on.

Miranda: “I don't know what's wrong. She just fell and she isn't waking up.”

Azar: “What's wrong with you, doll. Wake up, please. You're having a fever.”

Blaise: “Do you feel it? She's not a wolf. Our mate is human.”

In Azar’s head: Oh shit. How did I miss it? Amaya’s human.

Miranda: “I didn't know what else to do. I thought you could help somehow. (Azar picks up Amaya). What are you doing?!”

Azar: “Thorne…call the doctors. I'm taking my mate home.”
