Chapter 44:
The next day sleeping in bed
Blaise: “Wake up!! Puppies are coming.”
In Azar’s head: What do you mean the puppies are coming? Amaya’s sleep and it's too early. She's seven months pregnant.”
Blaise: “They are ready. Stop panicking. They're perfectly fine and our mate will be too. They just decided to come early. Calm down. She's gonna need you. You don't wanna scare her with your reactions.”
In Azar’s head: You're right.
Azar: “Hey, doll. How are you feeling?”
Amaya: “What's with the face?”
Azar: “Nothing. I'm just checking up on you.”
Amaya: “Azar, I know you and you're upset. Ouch.”
Azar: “Are you in pain?!”
Amaya: “Try carrying two babies inside of you. This hurts like crazy.”
Azar: “Don't panic. Blaise says the babies are coming. They're ready. He can feel them.”
Amaya: “No!! It's too early.”
Azar: “The doctor told us about the possibility of a premature birth. Our pups are doing great. Trust me on this one but we have to get you to the hospital. (at the hospital)”
Amaya: “Azar…I can’t. I can't do this anymore. It hurts too much.”
Azar: “You can do this. You're the strongest person I know. Just hold on a bit more.”
Amaya: “But I don't have any strength left.”
Azar: “Use mine. I know you can channel my energy through the mate bond. Don't be afraid of it. do it. That’s it. You're doing amazing. Just a few more. Doll?”
Amaya: “Yes?”
Azar: “Thank you for giving me the biggest joy of my life.”
Amaya: “Thank you for giving me strength. I wouldn't be able to do this without you.”
Azar: “But look at them. How can they be so perfect?”
Amaya: “Their eyes are just like yours.”
Azar: “Yours are still red and I think that's how it'll stay.”
Amaya: “You do realize that I just gave birth to two hellhounds?”
Azar: “I must admit I didn't expect that. We knew that they'd have my powers but I didn't expect them to be hellhounds. (in the nursery in the hospital)”
Bria: “Congratulations to grandma and grandpa. You have two healthy grandchildren. True little fires. I'll leave you with them. They're already so feisty.”
Azrael: “I kept telling you that my genes are dominant. They look just like me.”
Fenrir: “And your brother.”
Azrael: “Yes, my dear Ezekiel.”
Fenrir: “I didn't wanna make you sad.”
Azrael: “I miss him so much. I hope he can see us now.”
Fenrir: “I'm sure he sees us. As well as your parents.”
Azrael: “You're right. We're grandparents now. (in hell)”
Ezekiel: “Of course I'm watching over here, big sister. Who else sent you two little hellhounds to earth? You're gonna have a lot of fun with them. (at home in the nursery)”
In Amaya’s head: A few days later we brought our bundles of joy home. The room was already prepared for them and they were perfect. They barely cried but they liked a lot of food. I could get enough rest because Azar would stay with them. He's an amazing father but I already knew that. What came as a surprise is that both of our children are hellhounds. We knew about their powers but not this. We were in complete shock when we saw that they had red eyes and red hair. It gives me so much peace that my babies are the most powerful creatures. I was at peace because I have Azar as a father but this gave me more security. They came early but they were already so strong and I know that they will be untouchable.
In Azar’s head: Amaya’s delivery wasn't easy. I admit, I was scared. She was bleeding and losing strength but she thankfully accepted to take some of my powers to keep her going and that helped her heal fast. Our children are so beautiful. I’ve loved them since the day I found out about them but holding them in my arms was the best feeling. The whole family was over the moon. We decided to go with the names I've chosen. Helian and Hestia. Our little flames. The fiery ones. The names couldn't fit better for them.
In Amaya’s head: Oh my God, Azar is so adorable.
Amaya: “Hey, love. What are you doing?”
Azar: “Shh. Helian and Hestia are sleeping. Be quiet. I don't wanna wake our puppies.”
Amaya: “You're so cute.”
Azar: “Just look at them. Our baby boy and baby girl. Can you believe you and I created these two perfect little devils?”
Amaya: “It feels surreal to me. I can't believe it. We're parents. I want a lot more twins.”
Azar: “No. I'm not risking your life again.”
Amaya: “Azar, stop being a fool.”
Azar: “Shh. Look, they're waking up.”
Amaya: “They're hungry.”
Azar: “Of course they are and they knew you would come. They already adore you.”
Amaya: “I know but something tells me you're going to be their favorite. You're already spoiling them so much.”
Azar: “I am and I'll keep doing so until my last breath. Every child needs to be loved.”
Amaya: “Mhm.”
In Amaya’s head: As Azar and I were spending our days and love and joy with our babies, our family kept growing. A month later Miranda and Thorne welcomed their baby boy to this world, Theron. Even though we never dreamed of it, Miranda and I completed friendship goals. Our children will grow up together and be best friends like we were and always will be. (Miranda and Thorne’s nursery)
Miranda: “You two are so precious.”
Thorne: “Theron looks just like his daddy.”
Miranda: “Like one of you wasn't enough for this world.”
Thorne: “Just imagine when he teams up with Helian and Hestia.”
Miranda: “One word…trouble.”
Thorne: “I'm so in for it.”
Sammy: “I'm the youngest and the most handsome grandpa ever.”
Jessie: “So am I.”
Sammy: “Shh. Don't ruin my moment.”
In Azar’s head: Uncle Sammy was right when he said we’re gonna have a house full of puppies. A year later my sister gave birth to an adorable baby girl, Harper. (Khiara’s nursery). It was all so crazy. (ten years later on the balcony)
Hestia: “Mommy said we can't make fire inside the house.”
Helian: “And why are you happy about it?”
Hestia: “She didn't say anything about the outside. Let's make some fire.”
Amaya: “Helian, Hestia!! Grandpa Fenrir and grandma Azrael are here. You know you're spending the weekend with them. Theron and Harper are waiting for you. Look at them.”
Azar: “Hestia’s right. You did forbid them to set the house on fire but you didn't say anything about playing with fire outside.”
Amaya: “The three of you will be the end of me.”
Azar: “They are as stubborn as you so don't complain.”
Amaya: “Can't argue on that one.”
Azar: “You look stunning.”
Amaya: “For your eyes only and I have a surprise for you later.”
Azar: “You know how much I love your surprises.”
Amaya: “I'm all yours for the whole weekend.”
Azar: “You're always mine. (Azar’s bedroom). Happy 13th wedding anniversary.”
Amaya: “Just kiss me already. I love you, my big bad wolf.”
Azar: “I love you more, doll.”
In Amaya’s head: It was just the beginning of our lives. Years of pure joy and happiness. Watching our children grow up was magnificent. They sure were a lot of trouble but we loved every second of it. Azar and I were in love more and more with each day passing. No matter how many years passed, we craved each other like the first day and what I learned…blood doesn't make someone your family. Here is where I found my home. After all the pain we could finally put the past aside and live our lives but I wouldn't change a single thing in my life before I met Azar. All of it shaped me into the person I am today. I've seen myself weak and I've seen myself strong. I learned how to love myself through Azar’s love. He showed me the happiest that was out of this world but he's my other half after all.
In Azar’s head: I often like to think of the day I first saw Amaya. And look where it got us now. The road wasn't easy for either of us, especially her but I'm proud of how she endured everything and you know what they say…if you're walking through hell, keep walking. Years passed and we're still madly in love with each other. She's my mate, my wife, the mother of my children. She's my everything. From the second she walked into my life, she set my heart on fire. With a flame that’ll never extinguish and I'm sure we taught our children well. The most important thing is love and I have no worries or doubts about them. No matter what awaits them in life, they'll always have each other's back. (years later in the woods Helian and Hestia all grown up). They are our legacy.
