He Is Not Alone

Chapter 20

The trip to DC goes without any issues. After we are setup, I send Diane an email letting her know we have arrived. Monday morning, Amy, Diane and I meet in her office. We start with questions from Diane about my capabilities.

“Will, you have said that you can read and control minds. What do you mean?”

“Diane, the human mind is an open book to me and in fact to Amy as well. We have for many years now been able to read the thoughts of people we see. Over time we learned to also be able to place thoughts into people around us. In fact, if we can see the individual in real time we can control them. Please open the door and I will demonstrate.”

Diane opens the door to the conference room. In the hallway are several people walking around, some carrying files and books, others with laptops. Will has all of them come into the room, put down their items and begin slow dancing with each other.

“Is this normal behavior in the office, Diane?”

“No. But how did you do that? You didn’t say anything at all.”

Will has Diane, stand up, take the hand of the nearest man staff member and begins dancing with him.

After the dance, Diane sits down.

“Diane, why did you start dancing with him?” Will asks.

“I am not sure. I just wanted to.”

“Have you ever wanted to dance with him before?”

“No, I don’t dance very often at all and never dance with anyone other than my husband.”

“Perhaps you have a better understanding now. Our power makes it seem like you decide what you are doing. Your thoughts are what you think they should be. Your actions are just that, your actions. I have one other capability that so far Amy does not have. I can control the body as well as the mind.”

“How can I prevent you from making me do something I don’t want to do?”

“You can’t. Did you want to dance?”

“Yes, no.”

“Yet you got up and danced anyway. You have no control or way to stop us because it is your thoughts that make you do what we want you to do.”

“If you can make people do what you want, why not just have the FBI stop looking for you?”

“We are. You are going to set up a meeting between us with the FBI Director where I will change his mind and go free without him ever wanting to see us again. After the meeting, I will go free and as long as he is in office, we will never come into his mind again.”

“Why do you need me? Why not turn yourself in and have them let you go?”

“Basically, that is what I am going to do. But your job is to get the director to agree to accept my surrender personally. Remember, I have to see them to control them. If I agree to surrender, there is no reason for the Director to be involved. If it is part of the agreement that you work out, he will attend. I have no doubt that there will be hundreds of agents there as well. But all that matters is the Director being there. Once I change his mind, the others will do as he says. Amy is my backup. They don’t know she has the same capabilities. If they try something drastic, she can still take control.”

“I’m not sure about this. But, you need legal assistance and we promised Lou we would help. I will set up a date, time and place. Are there any restrictions?”

“No, just as long as the Director is there.”

Amy and I leave the office and head back to the RV Park.
