Gone (Book Two of the Dark Lycans Series)

Chapter Chapter Three: A Mess

Laughing. That's all I could hear from my pack. The Alphas of the Fallen and Broken Pack were backing away with frightened faces.

I smirked, "Why did you want to see me?"

"Uh-I, we wanted to see our competition," he stuttered with wide eyes.

"Well, you've seen it. Now if you need anything just let my pack members know," I said walking away. I headed back to the training center.

Wanting to release some of my anger, I took my bag in front of another punching bag. This one was an 800 pound blue one. I didn't bother wrapping my wrists this time.

Why is it so impossible for me to be an Alpha! I screamed in my head and slammed my fist into the bag. It flew through the air 20 feet away and burst open. Sand was everywhere, and my pack members were whistling at me.

My anger was building up, and I was breathing heavily in an attempt to control it. I snatched up my bag and started heading towards Blake's house. Without Blake, I couldn't calm my wolf or control my emotions.

It was very frustrating, and I ended up punching a hole in a big oak tree. I yelled in anger and ran towards my house. I started walking when I got near, I was about to open the door when I heard a voice.

"Raven wait!" Shadow yelled. I turned around to face her, and noticed she was looking at the ground, her face very nervous.

"Yes what is it? You look like you've seen a ghost," I said with a raised eyebrow.

"I need some help getting food. How do you use the fridge? I'm really hungry," she said, her cheeks hot with embarrassment. I bit my lip and tried not to laugh.

"Have you never used any cooking appliances before?" I asked keeping my blank face on. She shook her head, I'm guessing they eat their meat raw.

"Well then I guess I can help. Give me a sec and I will meet you in your room," I sighed and she ran off. I walked into my house and took a deep breath. Now was not the time to lose control, I told myself and tossed my bag on the couch.

I was feeling hungry so I grabbed an apple and took a huge bite out of it. My apple in hand, I walked out the door to the guest house to help Shade.

I tossed the core of my apple into the trees and walked into the hotel. I rode up the elevator to Shade's floor, and went to the door her and her mate were in. I knocked and Shade opened the door looking nervous again.

Inside, the place was a mess, things were broken and thrown everywhere, and wolves were hurriedly trying to clean it up. I walked inside and raised my eyebrow at it.

"What the hell happened here?" I asked, not sure whether to be angry or amused.

Suddenly, we both see Blackthorn standing in front of us, starting to shift.

"Blackthorn what the fuck are you doing?" Shade yells at him. He doesn't seem to hear her, his silvery eyes staring directly at me.

"This is Raven, do you not recognize her?" She says, her voice sounding panicked. I suddenly realize what is going on and I step forward.

"Stay back Shade, let me handle this," I tell her with a determined look in my eyes. She looks about to argue, but then closes her mouth and backs away.

I walk towards Blackthorn, who shifts into a large gray wolf. He growls at me, but I do not even flinch. I shift into my black wolf, and see that our wolves are nearly the same size, mine being slightly bigger.

We start to circle each other, Blackthorn kept growling and snarling at me, but I remained calm. I just stared him down, and it started feeling like I was fighting an omega rather than another Alpha. I decided to use a temporary mind link with Shade to explain what was going on, a benefit of being an Alpha.

Listen, stay back until I tell you to do otherwise. I do not know how stable his emotions are when his wolf is in control. I do not want to take the chance that you could get hurt, even if it were accidental. Understood?

Yes, but he's not dangerous I know it. He was upset that I left without telling him. She tried to reason.

I'm sorry Shade. It has nothing to do with that, this would have happened eventually, whether it was today or next week. In his eyes, you and this place are his territory, and I am an Alpha, therefore a threat. The only way to do this without getting hurt, is if you let me get him restrained, then I will let you calm his wolf down. I have the advantage, because even though his wolf is big, he is not as fast.

I have had lots more practice and I am slimmer, so I am more graceful and fast, even though my wolf is even bigger than his.

I lunged at him snapping my jaws loudly. He jumped back to avoid my teeth, but stumbled slightly. I used it to my advantage and swiped my paw across his muzzle.

He shook his head, but my hit only made him furious. He rushed at me with bared teeth and attempted to jump on my back. When his chest was above my head, I jumped upwards and slammed into his body. He got thrown off balance and fell on his back a few feet away.

The impact knocked the breath out of him and I ran over before he could regain his feet.

I shifted quickly and grabbed his scruff with my hand, pinning him to the floor. I heard Shade growl at me, probably because I was naked beside her mate. I growled back at her, and I heard her whimper quietly, putting her head down in submission.

I turned back to Blackthorn, who was still trying to escape my grip. I used all of my Alpha power in my command.

"Shift!" I growled loudly. Almost involuntarily, he stopped struggling. I let go as his body started to shift. While he was shifting, I picked up and put on a shirt I found on the floor. As soon as he was back in his human form, he tried to throw a punch at me.

I caught his fist and twisted his arm behind his back. He winced in pain when I twisted his arm further. With one hand holding his arm behind his back, I wrapped my other around his neck.

Since he was taller than me, it made it difficult to keep my hold on him. So I yanked him backwards and kicked the back of his knees. They gave out and he fell to his knees, with me holding around his neck. I changed my grip on his arm so I could hold both of his wrists behind his back.

I nodded at Shade and she rushed over to her mate. She threw her arms around his neck, and Blackthorn put his face in her hair, sniffing deeply. When I felt him become less tense, and more relaxed, I slowly let go of him. They both stood up, and Blackthorn looked guilty.

He opened his mouth to say something when we heard the splintering sound of one of my pack members breaking through the door, sending wood everywhere. His eyes were wild, clothes torn and he looked at me breathing heavily.

"Alpha, we have a problem."
