Girls Rule

Chapter 18: The Wrong Alpha

Deacon

I groaned as I rubbed my head.

Why am I in so much pain?

I opened my eyes and saw that I was wearing gloves with silver handcuffs on them.

I growled. This better be a sexy kink that Ace has.

But as I looked around the room, or should I say cell, I knew that I was so wrong.

“Where the hell am I?” I said to myself as I stood up.

“Well I’m glad you asked.” I heard a voice laugh.

I immediately turned my head to the right and saw the person I hated the most.

Lawson.

I growled and walked towards the silver bars.

“Aww.” Lawson cooed. “Is the little alpha angry?”

I growled. I so wanted to rip his head off right now.

“Why am I here?” I asked instead of saying some sort of remark.

“The attack on Ace’s pack was a distraction.” Lawson simply stated.

“What do you mean?” I asked confused.

Was it so he could capture me?

“It was a kidnap mission. But those fucking idiots kidnapped the wrong alpha.” He growled and he pointed his thumb at the two rogues standing next to him.

“I said I was sorry!” The rogue whined.

Lawson growled. “You had one fucking job and you screwed it up. So shut up!”

The rogue whimpered and stepped back a little bit.

Well damn. Sorry I’m not good enough.

Okay Deacon, it’s not the time to be making jokes.

“And don’t even think about mindlinking your pack. My pack doc injected you with wolfsbane. Even enough so you can’t talk to your precious little wolf.”

“If I wasn’t behind bars, your head wouldn’t be attached to your body. Or you limbs.”

“Ooh. I’m so scared.” He said in fake terror as he held his hands up. “Doesn’t matter anyway.”

“Why do you say that?” I asked.

The smirk he gave me made my heart drop.

“Because by now Ace knows you’re missing.” Lawson laughed.

Oh no. Please no.

“And she’ll come right to me.” Lawson smirked.

I let out a ferocious growl that even made Lawson and the other rogues in the cellar flinch.

“You fucking touch one hair on her little head and I will kill you.” I snarled. “And that’s a promise.”

Lawson gave me a dark chuckle. “How are you gonna do that when you are stuck in a silver cell?”

I growled as I watched him laugh.

“Deacon.” He said getting serious. “You should know by now that I get want I want. And when I want something, I do everything in my power to get it.”

“Well you aren’t getting Ace. I won’t let you. She’s my mate. Mine. Got it?” I snarled at his remark.

He scoffed. “Ya right. I don’t want her for that purpose if that’s what you’re thinking.”

“Then what?” I asked annoyed.

“To kill her.” He stated simply.

I felt dread run through my entire body.

No. No. He can’t kill her. I need her.

I clenched my fists and Lawson laughed at my angry state.

“I already killed her parents, but I forgot about that little brat.” Lawson said as he growled to himself.

“Why did you kill her parents?” I asked curiously.

I’ve wanted to know that since I first found out about the whole tragedy.

“Believe it or not, but the Luna pack is one of the most powerful packs in the country. They might be small, but the strategies they use are unbelievably strong and smart. Any pack would be luck to be allies with them. Infact, all the pack surrounding them tried to be allies with them.”

“What does that have to do with killing her parents?” I asked confused.

Why didn’t he just join the pack or something?

“Can you imagine the power you would have if you ran that pack?” Lawson asked.

But I saw an evil glint in his eyes. To be honest, that evil glint kind of scared me.

“Why didn’t you just ask to join instead of killing everyone off?” I asked in a duh tone.

Lawson rolled his eyes. “In order to be alpha, you have to kill the alpha themself and the children who carry his bloodline. And since Ace is his only child...” His voice trailed off.

“You had to kill her.” I said getting frustrated.

Lawson nodded. “Correct. But at the time I didn’t know that. But when I didn’t feel the power shift over to me, I realized I made a grave mistake.”

“She got away.” I said finishing his sentence.

He sighed and nodded. “I was so close. So close to that alpha title. But then I missed her. Ace. I missed that bratty little child.”

I growled. “Watch it. That bratty little child is my mate.”

Lawson smirked. “I heard she rejected you.”

My growl stopped and I could feel my face fall.

I cleared my throat and looked away. “Yeah. Spent a year without her.”

Lawson made a gagging sound. “Ew love. It honestly makes me sick. Why the fuck would you want a mate?”

“They make everything better.” I replied with a proud smile.

“No. Money and food makes everything better.” Lawson corrected.

I almost let out a laugh, but then I realized that I didn’t like Lawson so I kept my mouth shut.

“Mates fill the emptiness you have in your gut. They make the day brighter and they are the reason you wake up every morning.”

Lawson smirked. “That is why I can’t wait to kill her right in front of your eyes. Now that is going to make my day brighter.”

I growled and lunged at him.

I hissed in pain as I made contact with the bars.

“Silver bars idiot.” Lawson laughed at my stupidity.”

“Sir!” A rogue said as he stood up straight looking at Lawson.

“What is it Cole?” Lawson asked. “Can’t you see I’m having a lovely conversation with our guest.”

I scoffed at his sarcasm. Damn I can’t wait to rip his head off.

“Some of the other rogues sniffed out a scent.” ‘Cole’ said giving Lawson the look.

Lawson looked confused before he gave him a smirk.

Lawson and that stupid little smirk turned my way. “As much as I love chatting with you, I have an errand to run.”

I growled. “Don’t you fucking dare Lawson!”

“What are ya gonna do about it pup?” He mocked.

Okay. He just crossed a line.

“I am not a fucking pup.” I growled as I tightened my fists. “And I already told you.”

“What’s that?” Lawson asked.

“I’m going to rip that pathetic little fucking head off that pathetic little body of yours.” I smirked.

Lawson growled. “Just you wait till I have your mate in front of you with a silver knife to her neck.”

“You won’t get the chance.” I said in confidence.

“Why do you say that?” Lawson asked as he crossed his arms across his chest. “Please enlighten me on that little detail.”

“Because mine and Ace’s pack are going to destroy you and you won’t be able to do anything and you’ll be begging to live while gasping for air as you see all your rogue members lying in their own pool of blood.” I threatened.

I smirked as I watched both Lawson and Cole gulp.

“Damn.” Cole said in a shaky breath. “That was really descriptive.”

“What a lovely image to have in my head.” Lawson replied as he shook his head. “But I’ll just replace it with your mate laying in a pool of her own blood.”

I growled as he laughed.

“Don’t worry young one. I’ll let you see her before I slit her throat in front of you.” Lawson smiled sweetly as he walked out of the cellar with Cole.

Oh he is not going to touch her. Once he does, I’ll be right there ready to rip him to shreds.
