Chapter 48
Chapter 48
“Mrs. Hudson, we can eat now,” Kira whispered to me after Frederic had left.
I nodded and got up, walking towards the dining room.
After finishing dinner. I took a shower and went to bed, not wanting to do anything else. I have to accompany Janessa to choose a dress tomorrow, so I need to rest well today.
At that time, my mother–in–law sent me a message listing the names of twenty or thirty vitamins.
She said, “Syl, you sent someone to buy these things, and then let Frederic eat them for half a month, twice a day.”
I couldn’t sleep. I replied, “Mom, what is this?”
My mother–in–law answered, “This is to make Frederic’s body stronger. I think Frederic must have had a weak body. When will your father and I have grandchildren if things continue like this?”
I immediately wanted to refuse because Frederic’s body was fine and he wouldn’t listen to my arrangements.
But after hesitating for a while, I still agreed. I said, “Okay, but I don’t know if he will eat.”
My mother–in–law sent me a big OK emoji and said, “Don’t worry, just buy these things and leave the rest to me.”
The next day, I sent Kira to buy vitamins. She looked at the names and asked in surprise, “Mrs. Hudson, are you feeling unwell?”

I shook my head and said with a smile, “No, it was my mother–in–law. who asked me to buy it for Frederic. She said she wanted to hold her grandson as soon as possible.”
In front of Kira, I didn’t hesitate to speak. As a result, whenever she sees Frederic and Emilia being affectionate, she will remember me, Frederic’s ex–wife.
“Mrs. Hudson, I had a relative who was a doctor and he had a prescription that worked really well. Shall I ask him for you?” Kira kindly said.
“Really? Alright then, could you please buy some vitamins for me according to his prescription these days?” I pretended to be surprised. “If they really work, I’ll give you a raise!”
“Mrs. Hudson, you don’t have to be so polite. I went to see it today,” Kira said, feeling a little embarrassed.
I said, “Okay. I have something to do today, so I’m leaving now. I probably won’t come back for lunch.
Afterward, I left and arrived at the wedding dress shop called Forever at exactly 8 o’clock.
Janessa was already waiting for me there. When she saw me, she waved and said, “Syl, come over here quickly!”
After entering the bridal shop, the saleswoman poured warm water for the two of us and prepared some snacks. The shop was not big and the prices of the wedding dresses sold there were average. As for Janessa’s status, she should have chosen a high–end bridal shop to customize her wedding dress.
She told me that Leonel couldn’t afford such expensive dresses and wedding gowns, and didn’t want to spend her money, so she decided to choose a relatively affordable bridal shop.

“Ms. Chilton, please come with me to try on some dresses,” the saleswoman said to Janessa.

Janessa got up and went to the fitting room, while I wandered around the bridal shop. As I looked at the various beautiful wedding dresses, my emotions were complicated.
The significance of a wedding dress to a woman is extraordinary, and on the day I was choosing my wedding dress, I was completely rejected by Frederic.
As I was thinking about these unpleasant memories, the door of the bridal shop was pushed open. Emilia and two girls walked in. The three of them were chatting happily and cheerfully.
“Sylvia?” Emilia’s eyes widened in surprise and joy when she saw me. “What a coincidence, what are you doing here?”
At that moment, Janessa finished trying on her dress and asked me, “Syl, how does this one look?”
The dark red embroidered dress made her look elegant and beautiful, but the color was a bit too dull. I thought for a moment and then said, “Do you have a brighter color? This one looks a bit outdated.”
The saleswoman quickly answered, “Yes. Ms. Chilton, you can come with me to see other styles and try them on.”
Janessa nodded and followed the saleswoman to continue choosing a dress.
