Chapter 30
Chapter 30
This was an old neighborhood located in the suburb of Aroma City, built in the 1990s beside a large abandoned chemical factory.
Sam used to work in that factory, which gave him a house for free.
Ten years ago, the factory failed. The Hudson Group took it. However, it was just left there. Once with any plan, the neighborhood would be taken down.
What capitalists pursued was nothing but benefit. Frederic was quite a typical one. He was good at calculating. The compensation package he gave for resettling just met the basic requirements. He refused to give
one more cent.
Thus no one could imagine that he could change his mind and become a philanthropist for Emilia.
Sam, as the representative, was sent to negotiate with Frederic. He thought that conflicts would be unavoidable. However, Frederic was quite polite and improved the compensation package. Thus, each family got far more than the compensation standard.
This made Emilia angry and moved. She was angry because Frederic was the one to be blamed. What moved her was what Frederic had done for her.
I sat in the car and looked up at the lightened neighborhood with a -myriad of thoughts.
When I found that Frederic improved the compensation package, I asked my father to check it out. Thus, I knew what had happened. However, I didn’t know that he did this for a woman.

Frederic had been going after Emilia for half a year by that time. Half a year could make him so crazy.
I didn’t know the specific address of Emilia’s home. Thus, I drove around the neighborhood. With no fences and security guards, it was quite convenient.
When I drove back to the starting point, I saw a familiar Bugatti.
Frederic, dressed in black, leaned against the car with his long legs casually against the car. He lowered his head to light up a cigarette.
A luxury car, a handsome man, the night, and a cigarette all combined made a typical picture of movies. Such a man crazily went after me. He didn’t care about money and solved all the obstacles for me like a knight. However, I had nothing special except my pretty face.
I suddenly understood. If I was Emilia, I couldn’t say no to him.
Emilia was innocent, not stupid.
Following the direction of Frederic’s eyes, I located Emilia’s house. Besides the light from the first floor, there was only one light on the fifth floor of this building.
I called Frederic.
“What?” He answered in a cold voice as usual.
“Nothing. I just wanna know if you will answer.” I looked at him not far away through the car window.
Unsurprisingly, he hung up.
I felt flattered. When he was staring with affection in front of another woman’s house and figuring out how to get her, he answered his unwanted wife’s phone.
With this thought, I drove away.
When I arrived home, the maids had just finished cleaning. Kira was left to finish it off. However, she seemed to be waiting for me.
“Mrs. Hudson!” Looking at me, Kira said in an uneasy voice.
I put those packed dishes on the table and asked gently, “Kira, what’s Wrong?”
Kira looked at me nervously with guilt on her wrinkled face. “When I was cleaning your bedroom, I accidentally broke one skincare product. I’ll pay for it.”
“Which one?” I asked.

Kira took out the broken glasses wrapped in tissues from her pocket. This one was worth 1,500 dollars.

Kira’s one month’s salary couldn’t even afford it.
