After a while, Tristan showed up in a brown shirt, elegant.
He stood down opposite me and cut to the chase. “Tell me your story.”
“Relax. We could talk while enjoying dinner.” I tried to smile as calmly as I could.
“What’s your relationship with Ruben?” Tristan just ignored my words and asked directly.
I said, “He is a friend. And I know his girlfriend.”
Tristan’s eyes changed. “Does he have a girlfriend?”
I nodded. “But he will be single soon. You and Frederic will fight for his girlfriend.” I thought.
Tristan was quite handsome and Frederic had a beautiful face. They must be popular with women anywhere. However, they would fight with each other for an ordinary woman. I couldn’t imagine that.
“Watch this!” Seeing that Tristan was in deep thought, I connected my phone with that flash drive to show him the video with confidence. “You can see what happened between me and Ruben after I entered the parking lot. You can even hear what I said. Nothing happened between me and Ruben.”

Tristan took my phone and carefully watched. I craned to observe the changes in his expressions.

“Does Frederic know Ruben?” Tristan asked.
He was worried that I would cheat on Frederic.
I only knew that Frederic and Tristan were childhood friends. Tristan. was Frederic’s best friend. However, Tristan was just an acquaintance to me. I had no idea how good a friend Tristan was to Frederic.
Now I knew that Tristan cared a lot about Frederic’s marriage status.
I felt sorry because they would finally break with each other for a woman no matter how good a relationship they had.
I shook my head and said, “No. Ruben is not an important friend. It doesn’t matter where he knows or not.”
Tristan drank some water and said nothing.
I didn’t know whether he believed me or pretended to believe me. He -stopped talking to me. After tasting two dishes, he left.
“What a waste!” Looking at those tasty dishes being served up, I asked the waiter to pack them up for me and left.
On the way back home, an address came to my mind. It was the address Kira wrote in her files. They were locals in Aroma City and lived at the junction between Aroma City and Crocus City. Thus, it was not a busy place. The housing price was low.
Emilia’s family was better than Ruben’s in finance. Ruben lived in a town in another state.
Frederic had nothing to worry about since his parents went back to Crocus City today. He would try to approach Emilia. It was easy for him to get Emilia’s files. Thus, he must have known her address.
Emilia didn’t do her part–time job these days. She must have been back home before going to school.
With this thought, I made a turn and drove to Emilia’s house.
