Chapter 18
“Don’t worry, Evie. Frederic and I have both been tested, and we are fine. Maybe he is just too busy to come home more often, so it will take us longer to get pregnant.” It would be a lie to say that I wasn’t moved, but I just wasn’t lucky enough to stay her daughter–in–law.
“It’s just that Ernie and I have often seen rumors about him, and we have yelled at him many times. But in the end, you are his wife. You should keep him on a tighter leash, understand?” Evie warned me.
Although I knew that I wouldn’t keep Frederic from cheating and that he was about to fall in love with another woman, I still nodded as I looked into Evie’s earnest eyes. “Yes, I will.”
After we chatted for a while, I had breakfast with my in–laws. While eating, I learned that Frederic left the house early in the morning.
It didn’t bother me. Right now, I didn’t care about anything Frederic did.
After breakfast, I also got out of the house and drove to the hospital to find Tristan.
Tristan had just finished making rounds when I suddenly stopped him and asked him with a plastic smile, “Dr. Shelton, got a minute?”
“No,” answered Tristan directly without a smile on his fair, handsome face.
“Too guilty to look at me?” I sat down next to him and started accusing him, “I asked you to persuade Frederic into divorcing me, but you persuaded my in–laws into coming to my house. When did you become such a firm believer in marriage?”
Chapter 78
Tristan glanced at me and said calmly, “When Mr. and Mrs. Hudson asked me how you and Frederic were doing, I just said that you wanted to divorce him.”
Hearing this, I would love to make a scene right now!
I wondered if Tristan was just a beautiful fool. With so many issues between me and Frederic, all he cared to say was that I wanted to divorce him. What would my in–laws think of me?
Just when I was pissed off, Tristan was summoned by the nurse, leaving me alone in his office. I caught sight of the Thermos cup on his desk, immediately fumbled for lipstick in my purse, and threw it in.
I left the hospital as I wished in my heart that the lipstick could kill Tristan.
I was unemployed, so I had nowhere to go. I went home after strolling for a while. It was lunchtime, and I could smell the delicious food from
the kitchen.
Frederic and his parents were sitting in the living room. I didn’t know what they were talking about, but the air around them was gloomy. Seeing that I came home, Evie finally put on a smile. “You are home, Syl.”
I nodded and sat next to Evie, who immediately grabbed my hand and started yelling at Frederic, “Frederic your father and I have made it very clear. If we see one more rumor about you being with some woman who is not your wife, we will disown you!”
“What, what are you doing?” I looked at my in–laws in great shock.
“Syl, I know Frederic hasn’t been a good husband these years and has been sleeping around. You are probably the only woman in the world who can put up with him.” Evie sighed, “Please give him another chance. We will also keep a good eye on him.”
Chapter 18
Tristan just told them that I wanted a divorce. I wondered if my in–laws needed to go this far.
In my last life, I never found that they liked me or paid attention to me so much. When Frederic brought Emilia to the Hudson’s house, he had made up his mind to divorce me, and his parents couldn’t change his mind no matter what they said.
Frederic sat across from me with a cold face. He must think that this was all part of my plan.
He would not have a change of mind even after I took out the divorce papers last night.
“Don’t worry. Those rumors are all just rumors. Frederic hangs out with other women just for business. I believe in him,” I said kindly.
Ernie also spoke at the moment, “Syl, you are such a nice girl. It’s good that you trust Frederic, but we all know how he has been treating you these years. Don’t be too nice to him. Men can b

“That’s right. The nicer you are, the less he cherishes you. He won’t realize how great you are until he really loses you,” Evie agreed.
I felt both impressed and funny that my in–laws taught me how to keep their son around.
However, Frederic’s face had completely darkened.
