Fuck. I knew it, the conference. The mere thought of Azah, beautiful as always in an elegant setting to lock eyes with someone who isn’t me just pains me. I want to punch this imaginary guy. Kill him even. Lost in thought, I didn't realize that I had just punched the wall. I glance at the frightened council members who were looking at me. I laughed mockingly, at the irony in this situation. Usually, they’re always complaining how reserved I am, and now well now I’m going mad. Council Tim hesitated to speak after my outburst “Al-Alpha.”

I have too much shit going through my mind. The Blue Moon event is starting today, meaning my warriors have to be on guard at all times. We welcome different packs here but that doesn’t mean we can truly trust them to roam outside the circle premises I’ve authorized. Then there’s this shithead mentioning the retirement of my mother as Luna for this pack. Pressuring me to hold a mating event specifically for me and Michael.

Michael’s wolf Micah wouldn’t dare, he still has his eyes on Sophia. These council members are truly oblivious to what they are doing right now, pissing off both the Alpha and Beta at the same time isn't a good idea. Yet they continue to poke, we will see how far this gets. All the while, I’m worried for Azah.

Rumours are running around the states that we have a true vessel carrying a spirit Goddess. A situation like this means the vessel would have to go into hiding but since the Moons have a strong coven that won’t be the case. If anyone dares lay a hand on her. I’ll kill their whole pack. Fuck my life. I didn’t listen to one word this shithead said, and I wasn’t gonna ask him to repeat it. His voice just annoys me. My alpha aura is coming off strong today, no fucks in even controlling this shit. Zeus of course is enjoying this.

“Al-Alpha Zion if I may ask.”

No, you may fucking not I thought to myself. “What?”

“Your relationship with Miss Azah Moons? There’s been … words that..”

he clears his throat before proceeding “Are together.”

The whole room fell silent.

Michael's eyes flash, his wolf Micah now in control

“HOW DARE YOU!” Micah said with fury.

Another councilman interferes “Excuse me, Beta Michael, we are curious to know if the reason for Alpha Zion not pursuing to find his mate is because Miss Azah Moons are? Is she the true Luna? Or just another …”

I had enough. I got up from my seat and dragged the man by his shirt, lifting him up and back to the wall.

“ Finish your sentence,” Zeus said impatiently.

“Uh.. umm.. Al… Al-…. Alp”

A hand firmly pressed on my right shoulder. Turning around while still choking the man by the neck, his back on the wall.

My father gently pressed on my shoulder with his hand and said “Son.”

I let go. leaving him to catch his breath. I smelled fear and submission in the room. Good. For the first time ever I did not hold back. Aware that my wolf was not to be pushed ant further. My own father, who has never bowed his head to anyone, bowed his head to acknowledge me as Alpha.

Zeus voiced his annoyance with volume “I’ve had enough. I think some of you must’ve forgotten who I am. I won’t stand for that. Anyone else that mentions plans in finding my mate. I’ll crush their bones for everyone to hear, and I’ll make sure your wolf is the first to suffer. We will proceed with discussing matters on protecting our pack and coven. The rest will be pushed for evening discussions.”

“Former Alpha Andy Heights.”

My dad was surprised to hear me call him formally, “Yes Alpha Zion Heights.”

“Touch me in that way again, and it’ll be your last time in this room as part of the council.”

My dad’s eyes flash in fury, his wolf isn’t too happy. But they both know an Alpha’s word is scarce. Father or not, he’ll be disrespecting Zeus and me if he is to challenge not just my word but HIS ALPHA.

Yes. Zeus and I weren’t too happy that my father thought he had the power to influence us to calm down. There’s being a father and then there’s recognizing an Alpha. It seems that my father has not yet acknowledged me as an Alpha till now. It’s time he sees me more than his son but as an Alpha.

“You are all dismissed, anything else that needs to be discussed about the Blue Moon. Run it through Gamma Josiah and commander Maximus. Beta Michael call in an emergency meeting with only high ranks warriors, Gamma Josiah, Yeshua, and witch head guardian Hyun-Jae. ”

“Yes Alpha Zion,” Michael replied.

I didn’t want this status from the beginning, but since I’m already here with no way out. I might as well accept it wholeheartedly.

As I shifted, I made myself invisible to the crowds. While I sat and looked over the excitement and smiles from everyone who was at the Blue Moon festival. Must be nice to live with no heavy burden on your shoulders.

Houses are empty but the town’s circle is very much alive, bustling with festivity, warmth and noises. The festival is surrounded by a whole spectrum of unique people. The hustle and bustle of chatter, cheers of celebration; the tantalizing smell of delicious food. The town emitted a golden glow, joy, the warmth of the sun and its blessings. Many came to find their mates, others to form business relationships for trading and so much more.

Yehu is behind me. He mindlinks me and says “Alpha Zion.”

I didn’t like the sound of his tone. It is uneasy. Sensing his energy confirms my suspicions. I turn to face him, concerned.

“What is it?” I ask.

“Master Helios has confirmed the energy of the Silver Moon pack, it is not to be trusted. He and his son, who is an Alpha, seem very determined to capture Azah and make her his mate.”

“How did they know it's Azah?”

“Great Madam Selene assumes that there is a witch who is working with them, she was at the conference and senses Azah's presence and spirit.”

“Are you sure it's the Silver Moon?”

“Absolutely, the coven has been informed and has started on their rituals. I suggest you, inform Beta Michal and Gamma Josiah.”

“Where is Azah?”

Yehu pauses for a while contemplating what to say. Fuck this.

After seeing my impatience he replies “Her spirit is looking for you. She no longer wants to stay in the house or the Mansion. I was hoping she would listen to you.”

“And if I don’t convince her?”

“Find a way.” Yehu left suddenly, invisible to the rest.

“Where is she now?” I mindlink Yehu.

“She is in her world for now. She will come and probably look for you.”

“I should warn you though if anything is to happen to Azah and her spirit. Moons Coven will declare war on the Silver Moon. With or without your help.”

In other words, I’ll be a fool of Alpha to let Moons Coven fight alone. It will destroy centuries of unity between the Moons coven and Heights pack.

As suggested I mindlink Michael and Josiah.

When the festival was finished, everyone began to pack up their belongings quickly before it started to rain.As I began to stride onwards to my house, halfway there; the rain began falling from the sky down the drops steady and soft on my fur. The sky was once a cocktail-blue shade slowly turning to tar-black with large clouds moving and blotting out the old-gold colour of the sun.I hear the sound of people running for cover outside and umbrellas opening as the clouds spat out their beads of water. I quicken my pace, my paws landing on small puddles as it begins to plink from the rainfall becoming heavier.

Someone is trying to mindlink me.

Yeshua mindlinks “Zion. Azah is here at your house.”

“Is she hurt?”

“No. She’s outside waiting for you.”

“I’m coming”

Zeus taking absolute control, sprinting at full speed.

“Make sure you shift. Her energy seems to be off, I don’t want her…..”

“Shut up Yeshua. I got it from here.”

“Whatever.”

Thunder lashed in a distance, as the sound of the pounding rain deafened the silent atmosphere. I shifted back, opening the deck box to get my clothes. I didn’t care at this point if the clothes were inside out or not. I just want to hold her.

She came sprinting to me anxiously. Rain pounded on her marvellous ochre colour skin, drenching her completely. Her white t-shirt is wet, I could see her dark nipples harden from the cold air. She launched herself at me, I instinctively lifted her up as she locked her legs around my hip.

My pulse quickens as I feel her lips on mine. Her lips were soft and warm as they parted slightly allowing my tongue to slip inside. I could feel the soft tickle of her breath. Kissing passionately under the open sky, lost in a bubble of time and space. With no care of the heavy waterfalls pouring down on us while we are soaking wet.

Every nerve in my body is stimulated like an enticing magnetic field vibrating and pulling us closer.We continue to kiss, pressing each other closer. Web of droplets forming on our lashes as the rain trickles down our intertwined lips.

She abruptly pulls her lips away from mine, her eyes flew open. I twirled her around, hearing her enchanting laugh echoing. It’s the perfect melody. She’s perfect.

I’ll never get tired of hearing her laughter sign in my ears and to my heart. My eyes scanned and memorized every detail of her face, her beautiful tantalizing light hazel eyes, her smile, her smooth lips.I didn’t care if she was my true mate or not.

The feeling of my heart pounding erratically in my chest, tells me everything I need to know. I will do anything for her, anything to be her protector. I will swim into her eyes and drown her in affection.She let go of her hold around my hips and slid down slowly till her shoes touch the muddy ground. I took off her hands intertwining hers with mine.

“You didn’t answer my calls?” my voice shook nervously as I spoke.

“ I know… I… I was scared and worried.”

“Are you still?”

She glared up at me, looking into my eyes and said

“No. not anymore.”

“Good.”

She and I began to jog back to my patio. She went straight to my room. I double check the security, and clearance of the house before following her.
