Gamma’s Destined Mate.

Chapter 57

Adella Arcos - POV

After making sure that the door was locked, I walked downstairs when I saw the old landlord waiting for me.

What does he want from me now?

“Good morning, Mr. Liam.” I greeted him with a smile on my face, but that only made his scowl deepen. He started to impatiently tap his foot on the floor, waiting for me to walk downstairs. When I reached the foyer, he walked towards me.

“When you came to rent out my place, how many people did you tell would stay in here?” he asked me, raising an eyebrow. I let out a heavy sigh but plastered a smile on my face.

“I said that I was the only one staying in here.”

“Then why did your husband come here?”

“I wasn't aware that he was here today. But I promise that it won't happen again.”

“How can you promise that? Wouldn't he stay with you if he came here on vacation?” Mr.Liam asked me, and I shook my head.

“He usually comes for a day or two, so there is no time for him to stay,” I said, and I briefly glanced at my watch before looking at him again. “I am sorry, Mr.Liam, but I am getting late for work,” I said, and he nodded his head and waved at me to leave that place.

I rushed out of the apartment building and hailed a taxi since I didn't have the time to go on the bus today. After paying the taxi driver, I ran into the hotel, right when I took my seat, I saw our supervisor walking towards the lobby. “You got saved by a minute,” Elizabeth whispered in my ear, and I nodded my head.

“Do you want to come out for lunch with me?” Elizabeth asked me as she got ready to leave.

“You go ahead, Liza, I still have some work to finish,” I said, and she nodded her head before she walked out of there with her purse.

Ping.

I took my phone to check that it was a message from Jose. I ignored it and continued working. It's been a few days since Jose came to meet me, and luckily, he didn't text or call me at all, even though he must have found my new number. But yesterday, I couldn't hold myself anymore, so I texted him.

Are you ready to talk with me- Jose?

Meet me at the cafe downtown tomorrow at eight for breakfast.- Adella.

I texted back, and within a few seconds, I got a reply.

Sure, see you soon.- Jose.

I placed my phone aside and continued working. By the time I was done with my shift, I was ready to leave. “Adella,” Elizabeth called me. “Can you go home alone today?” she asked me, sounding guilty. “I still have some work to complete, and it would get late.”

“That’s all right, Elizabeth. I can take a taxi.” I said, and she nodded her head, and after saying our goodbyes, I walked out of the hotel. I took a taxi, and when I arrived home, I saw that there was a box of chocolates waiting for me at my door.

If he thinks he can win me over with all these gifts, then he is death wrong.

I took the box of chocolates and walked into the apartment. After placing the chocolates on the kitchen counter, I went to my room.

Gamma Jose Gomez - POV

I let out a huge sigh of relief when I saw the recent message from Adella. I thought she would take longer to agree to meet me, but I was glad that she agreed to meet up today. After combing my hair, I walked out of my house.

After looking at myself in the mirror, I got down from the car, and and made my way inside the restaurant. The place was fairly crowded, and I looked around everywhere, but I couldn't find Adella anywhere.

“Excuse me, Sir.” I turned around to see a waitress with a professional smile on her face. “Can I help you find a table?” she asked me, and I shook my head.

“Actually, I am here to meet a…” I paused for a couple of seconds before I continued. “Friend. She said that she is waiting for me in here.” I said, and her mouth formed an ‘o’.

“Can I know her name, Sir,” she asked me.

“Adella. Adella Arcos.” I said, and she nodded her head.

“She is waiting at a table outside. Let me show you,” she said, and then we started walking further into the restaurant, and I followed her. When we walked out, I saw her sitting at the very end of the deck.

“Thank you, I guess I can take care from here,” I said, and she nodded her head and walked inside. When I arrived at the table, Adella finally looked up at me before gesturing for me to take a seat.

“What would you like to eat, Mr. Gomez?” she asked me in a monotone, which made my heart ache. Right then, a waiter came towards us, and after we told him our orders, he walked into the restaurant to get our food.

“I know you must be mad at me, and you have every right to be. But before I met you, I had this fixed ideology in my mind.” I began explaining to her what I and Jasmin went through in our childhood. I saw the look of piety cross her eyes, but then it was gone in a flash, covered by an indifferent look.

“Is this your reason?” she asked me, and I shook my head.

“I recently found my mother’s diary, which made me realize how wrong I was. I have done a lot of stupid things, Adella. And I know all this can not be easily forgiven, but please give me one more chance, and I will never make you regret your choices.” I literally begged her.
