Gamma’s Destined Mate.

Chapter 53

Gamma Jose Gomez - POV

I parked my car and made my way inside the pack house. The sky was already dark, and for a moment, I stopped and stared up at the sky. Millions of stars were twinkling, with a beautiful moon in the center.

“We could have glanced at the sky together only if you had told her the truth.” Carlos mocked, which made me curl my hands into fists, but I didn't utter a single word. I know he is beyond hurt by my actions, but I will make sure I make it right again. I stayed outside for a couple of seconds or two before I walked inside.

Knock knock.

“The door is open.” I heard Dylan’s voice, which made me push the door and enter. Dylan and Sebastian were both waiting for me while casually sipping a glass of alcohol. “What made you understand the value of a mate?” Dylan asked me the moment I closed the door behind me. I bowed down, ashamed at all my misjudgments.

“I should have had a little trust in the mate bond,” I told him, and he shook his head in disbelief.

“This is the reason why I have been telling you from the very beginning to not have a serious relationship with anyone.” Dylan scolded me, but I didn't try to defend myself this time because I knew I was in the wrong.

“I know I made a mistake, but can we please figure out how we can solve this?” I asked him, and he let out a sigh and leaned back on his chair.

“Sebastian, can you get us the whiskey bottle, I think we might need it very much right now,” Dylan said, and he got up to go and get it while Dylan gestured for me to take a seat. After taking a seat on the sofa, Sebastian came back again with the bottle and a glass of scotch for me.

“Thank you,” I mumbled, and he nodded his head.

“How do we find her?” I asked, and Dylan and Sebastian looked at one another before they fixed their glance at me.

“We cannot find her using her license plate number since we don't know that information, but I know for a fact that she will not be staying as a rogue for a very long time.”

“I will keep checking the database to see if she has joined any pack, and when she does, I will let you know,” Sebastian said, and Dylan nodded his head.

“Who knows when she would approach another pack or when she would get an admission there? I mean, are you trying to say that we wait till she does that?” I asked them both, shocked. “It might be days, weeks or even months and…”

“You did not care about her presence up till you found your mother’s diary, and I think this time of waiting would serve as a punishment for you, Jose,” Dylan said, and this only made me angry.

“Moreover, we will never be able to find her in any other way.” Sebastian quickly explained.

“If she wants to survive alone, she might need to find a job, right? So why can't we ask all the Alphas we know to…”

“That is like finding a needle in a haystack, Jose. You should also know that I am telling this for your betterment.” Dylan said. “If you start looking for her in every pack and human town, it would only make her hate you more. Give her some time to digest everything that happened, and let's slowly approach her.”

“Even though I desperately want to go back out and look for her, I think you are right,” I said when a smile finally appeared on his face.

Adella Arcos - POV

I straightened my brown pencil skirt and readjusted my teal blue blouse one last time before looking up at the name.

I am finally here.

Taking a deep breath, I stepped into the hotel, my first day at work, and I was feeling so exhilarated and anxious. I never expected to receive an acceptance letter, but when I saw that, I just couldn't contain my happiness. I walked to my designated desk and took a seat. “Hello.” a very friendly woman next to me greeted me.

“Hi, I am Adella.”

“I know, the manager briefed me yesterday,” she said. “I am Elizabeth. You can call me Eliza.”

“It's nice meeting you, Eliza,” I said, and then she started explaining how I should do my work. In the beginning, it was quite tough, but by midday, I got the hang of it.

“Enjoy your stay, ma’am,” I said with a smile on my face as I handed over the room key to the woman.

Ping.

Since the lobby was empty, I took my phone to check, and that was when I saw that I had an appointment with the Alpha of the nearby pack. After that disaster a few days back, I didn't have the heart to apply anywhere, but eventually, I knew that I would not be able to live like this for long, so I tried my luck.

“Excuse me.” I quickly placed my phone aside and continued my work, by the time my shift was over, it was already past eight o'clock.

“How are you planning to go home?”

“I am taking the bus,” I answered, and Elizabeth gave me a worried look.

“But, it's quite late. Are you sure you can manage? I can drive you home if you want.”

“No, thank you for the offer. But I have to buy some groceries on my way too. I will be fine.” I said, and she nodded her head before we said goodbye, and I walked out of the hotel. The streets were not crowded, as they used to be during the day, nevertheless, I made my way to the bus stop and waited. Within a few minutes, a bus came, and I got in. Just like the street outside, there were only a few passengers on the bus.

Is this the Sleepy Town or something? Why isn't anyone out for the night?

“Your stop is here.” I was broken out of my trance when the conductor called out to me, so I quickly took my things and got down.
