Gamma’s Destined Mate.

Chapter 42

Gamma Jose Gomez - POV

My hands began to sweat while I was clearly able to hear the hammering of my heartbeat. I never imagined that someone would figure this out so soon and that to Summer of all people. Her stare conveyed a lot of emotions, and they were definitely not positive.

Honestly, I didn't have an answer to her question, but I know that my wolf does. He has been pushing on my mental barrier from the time Summer spoke to me over the phone, and right now, I couldn't hold it any longer. “At least tell it now, Jose. Tell her that we want Adella.” Carlos growled.

“I…I…”

“Don't you fucking tell me that you are still undecided about his topic? Because I will fucking never let you shift if you reject our mate right now.” his threat resonated within the walls of my mind, even though he was angry, I know that he is serious about that.

But why isn't he letting me speak?

“How am I going to tell this to Elena?” I asked him, and he rolled his eyes at me.

“I had put up with your bullshit for the past few weeks and kept quiet, hoping that you would finally realize the essence of the mate bond and tell Elena the truth, but I don't think I can put up with this any longer.”

“What are you talking about?”

“If you are worried that Elena’s heart would be broken if you tell her the truth, then let me handle it,” Carlos said.

“What are you still thinking, Gamma Gomez?” Summer’s voice broke my conversation with my Wolf, and I focused my attention back on her.

“There is a part of me that is telling me that I will never be able to live my life in peace without Adella and…”

“Please come to the point.” Summer interrupted me.

“I have to go back to my pack for a week in two days, and when I am there, I will go and meet Elena and tell her the truth,” I promised. I know I am making the right decision, and I hope everything goes well too.

Summer didn't speak for a long time when she finally let out a tired sigh and leaned back on her chair. “I know how important a mate bond is, Gamma, Gomez. But it is ten times more important to Adella than you think,” she said and looked out at the forest. “I would have made you reject her right now and leave this place, but I have to think about her happiness too. She is head over heels for you, and I can't do anything other than give you a second chance.” Summer said, and I nodded my head.

“I know I was an idiot for everything that I did in the past. But, unknowingly, I have come to love Adella, and after that weekend I spent in my pack, I know that she is the one for me.” I said, and Summer nodded her head before she got up from her place.

“This is your last chance, Gamma Gomez. If you screw this up.” Summer walked closer to me till we were only a few inches away from each other. “I will make sure I hunt you down and kill you myself,” she whispered before she straightened her posture and walked away casually as if nothing happened to her.

A few minutes later, the waitress came to my table with my beverage, but my appetite was long. I placed some cash on the table before I walked out of there.

Ring ring.

I took my phone out of my pocket to see that it was my sister. “Hello?” I was totally not in the mood to talk to anyone right now, but even if there was a war, I would never not answer Jasmin’s call.

“Do you still remember that you have a sister at home?” was the first question she asked me, the moment I answered.

“What do you want, Jasmin?” I asked her while massaging the bridge of my nose.

“I just came back home from vacation, and Sebastian just told me everything that happened. Are you seriously going to get married to that…”

“Mind your words, Jasmin.” I interrupted her.

“I have told you several times, Jose. She can never be as good as your fated mate, why don't you understand that, and now you have decided to get married to her without even informing me about this?” she asked.

“It's a long story, Jasmin. And I am not sure if I am going ahead with that marriage.” I said.

“What are you talking about?”

“I have something to do first. I will come and talk to you in person.” I said, and I disconnected the call before she could speak again. I walked straight to my room, packed a few of my clothes in my bag, and walked out of the pack house.

If I don't end this as soon as I can, I will lose the most precious thing in my life.

Adella Arcos - POV

Knock knock.

The persistent knocking on my front door made me pause my work for a couple of minutes. “Who can it be?” I thought before I placed my laptop next to me and walked to the door to check. When I opened the door, there was no one there, instead, a gift box was placed on my carpet.

I took the box and locked the door before I walked back inside, placed it on my coffee table, and started unwrapping it. When I opened the lid, there were a lot of pictures.

What kind of a sick joke is this?

On top of all those pictures, a neatly folded white paper was there, I first took that and opened it to read.

A magical day in anyone’s life is a wedding because it not only changes your relationship status but it would also bring a change to your entire life.
