Chapter 4
Jose Gomez - POV
“I know the consequence of my actions, Dylan. But I am not going to change my decision to marry her for anyone.” I sternly told, and I saw his eyes darkened in anger.
“You will have to let her go, this is my command,” Dylan ordered, but thankfully, he didn't use his Alpha powers, if he did, I would have never forgiven him for the rest of my life.
“I can't, Dylan. I…”
“You have no idea about the pressure that is on our pack because of your stupid decisions, Jose.” Sebastian interrupted, and this made me frown.
“What are you talking about?” I asked them while Dylan kept quiet, Sebastian stepped forward and walked towards Dylan’s table, picked up a paper, and showed it to me.
“We received this letter just a few hours ago, and they have asked us to terminate your job description as the Gamma of the pack if you go ahead and marry Elena, or they will wedge war against us.”
“We don't want to throw you out of this position, Jose. This is your birthright, so that is why I am telling you to…”
“I can't.” I was firm with my decision, and I didn't want to change it for anyone, even if I had to give up my position as the Gamma. Dylan let out a sigh and walked to his wine cabinet, grabbed the bottle of scotch, and took huge gulps of it. “I will go away so that…”
“We are not letting you leave,” Dylan said with finality, he walked back to his chair and took a seat, he had a thoughtful look on his face. “I think I have a plan to get you out of this mess,” Dylan spoke, which made both Sebastian and me look at him in shock.
“I thought you were against my life choices?” I asked him with a raised eyebrow.
“In my mind, yes. But within my heart, I know that you must have taken the right decision,” he said, and this made me smile. Dylan, Sebastian, and I grew up together, and these two are the only people who know about what went wrong with my parents and how that affected me.
“You are supposed to go to the Blue Moon pack next week, right?” Dylan asked me, and I nodded my head. “You go there tomorrow itself. I will send a letter to the werewolf council that the problem is sorted in here and that I will keep you in check.”
“But how is that going to benefit me?” I asked him, I mean, I think this will only make it worse when I come back home after two months and go back to see Elena.
“I get two months to find a loophole in the rules that they have set. And please don't come to visit Elena in these two months, and make sure you barely talk to her.” Dylan asked me, and even though I wanted to argue, I knew that this was the only way out, so I nodded my head. “Great, so you will be leaving early in the morning, I will inform the Alpha about your arrival,” he told me, and I nodded my head before I left the office.
I made my way back home, pulled out my suitcase, and packed everything that I would need. By the time I was done packing, it was two in the morning, so I went to bed to get some sleep. I woke up to the sound of my alarm, and when I looked at the clock, it read eight. I walked to my bathroom, and after taking a shower, I changed my clothes and left my house.
“Did you get everything you need?” Dylan asked me when I walked out of my house. He was standing next to my car.
“Yes,” I told him and walked to my car, and after loading my bags, I walked back to Dylan. “Please take care of my sister,” I told him, and he nodded his head.
“She is like a sister to me too, Jose. You don't have to worry about that,” he told me, and I nodded my head and walked to the driver's seat, and with one last nod at Dylan, I left my pack. It was a five-hour journey to the blue Moon pack, and I guess this gives me ample time to explain everything that happened here to Elena.
I dialed her number, and she picked the phone up in the second ring. “Is everything okay?” her concerned voice filled the empty atmosphere inside the car while the familiar feeling of warmth wrapped me when I heard her voice.
“I wouldn't say it is. But I guess there was no major issue in there.” I began. “Well, someone saw me proposing to you yesterday, and Dylan received a warning letter from the werewolf council, which freaked him out.”
“Oh my! I told you this before, Jose. This will not work…”
“Don't begin your lectures again, Elena. Dylan indeed freaked out, but after a while, he told me that he would help me out of this situation, but for that, I would have to do as he said.”
“What did he tell you to do?”
“He told me to go to the Blue Moon pack today and not come and see you for the next two months till he finds a solution to this problem.”
“Oh, and he is sure there is a solution to this?”
“I guess, but I am praying that I find my mate right now so that I can reject her then and there, and we will not have a problem at all.”
“You are right, but I don't think rejecting your mate is that easy. You will have to really fight against the mate pull and the attraction that you would develop towards her.”
“I know, but my heart only thinks about you, and I am very confident that I don't have space for another woman in my life.”
