Chapter 3
Jose Gomez - POV
I moved closer and closer while Elena’s eyes slowly closed, and she lightly licked her plum lips, instantly making my cock harden. When my lips touched hers, a gasp left her mouth, which made a smirk appear on my face. My lips touched hers, and she opened her mouth…
Ring ring.
Elena’s eyes flew open, and she had a confused look on her face. “Who is that?” she mumbled, but I seriously didn't care right now. My phone rang for a couple of more minutes before it stopped.
“Ignore it, baby,” I told her, and when I was about to kiss her again, my phone rang again.
“Answer the call, Jose. Maybe it is important,” she said and lightly pushed me away. I shook my head in disappointment and sat up on the bed, took my denim from the floor, and took my phone out. It was Alpha Dylan Alonso.
Why is he calling me at this hour?
“Hello?”
“Where are you, Jose?” he asked me, sounding annoyed.
“You know where I will be at this hour,” I responded, I got up from the bed, and turned around to face Elena.
Give me five minutes. I mouthed to her, and she nodded her head and gestured for me to go and talk outside.
“At the bar?” he answered, sounding clueless, but I knew that he knew very well about my whereabouts.
“No, I am at Elena’s place.”
“Of course, why don't you come and meet me at my office right now?” he asked me, and I let out a tired sigh. I looked up at the wall clock, which was hanging above the fireplace, which read one thirty.
“Can't I come to meet you in the morning?” I asked him, but I didn't get any response back. “Fine, I will be there,” I told him, and the line was disconnected. I walked back into Elena’s room and saw her sitting against the headboard with a book in her hand. Upon hearing the door opening, she looked up with a frown on her face.
“What happened?” she asked me when she saw the annoyed look on my face.
“I have to go back to the pack. Dylan wants to meet me now.” I told her. I thought that she would get annoyed, and yell at me in anger for raising her hopes, but instead, a small smile appeared on her face.
“It must be something important then. You better get going. We will meet some other time.” she told me, but I was sad. I didn't want to leave right now.
“Aren't you mad at me?” I asked her, and she shook her head.
“You are holding a crucial position in your pack, and it would not be nice if the Gamma is missing when the pack needs him the most,” she responded while my heart swelled in happiness and pride. I can never get a more perfect mate than her. I nodded my head and walked to where my clothes were piled up on the floor, and quickly wore them, sat on the bed, and pulled Elena closer to me.
“I love you. I will see you later.” I told her and pulled her into a brief kiss.
“Love you too,” she replied, and she pushed me away. “Get going, Gamma. Don't waste your time right now.” I nodded my head, took my phone, and left her room, and out of the house. I walked to my car got in, and sped away from that place.
I arrived back in my pack in under two hours, and I drove straight to Alpha Dylan’s house and parked my car right behind his. I walked up to the door and tried the door handle, and surprisingly, it was open.
So he was expecting me.
I walked into the house, closed the door, and made my way to his office. I knocked on his office and waited, and a couple of moments later, I heard his voice. I opened the door and walked in to see that Dylan was not the only person in there. Sebastian was there too. “Why did the two of you want to meet me at this hour?” I asked them. Dylan got up from his place and walked to stand beside Sebastian.
“Would you like a drink, Jose?” he asked me, but I declined.
“Why did you call me here.”
“No small talk, eh? Fine,” Dylan walked towards his drinks cabinet, poured himself a glass of scotch, and walked back to his seat. “I hope you know the laws set by the werewolf council, Jose.” he began, and this only made me frown.
“Of course I do. But what does this have to do with me?”
“Then, what is this?” he asked me and placed his phone in front of me. I walked towards his table and peered down to see that it was pictures of me and Elena. The final picture was of me on my knees proposing to Elena. “I have already warned you before, Jose. I told you to end this relationship a long time back, and I thought you would have paid heed to my words, Jose.”
“I have told this before, and I will tell this again. I love Elena, and I will marry her. I don't think you, h…”
“She is not your mate. And you cannot accept her as your mate until you find your true mate, Jose.”
“I don't want to accept my true mate, and I am very clear about that.”
“You know that the werewolf council will not keep quiet about this,” Dylan warned.
“When you find your true mate, she will be heartbroken if she realizes that you have mated with someone else, Jose,” Sebastian said, but I didn't want to listen to anyone.
“I thought you two were my best friends.”
“We are, and we don't want you getting into trouble or…” Dylan didn't complete the sentence, but I know what he was trying to say.
