Gamma’s Destined Mate.

Chapter 36

Gamma Jose Gomez - POV

“I would have done the same thing if someone else was in Adella's position,” I answered, but she shook her head and looked around us before she leaned closer to me and whispered in my ears.

“I know what is going on between Adella and you, but I bet she doesn't know a secret that I do.” she threatened, but I made sure to maintain a calm demeanor. I took a few bites of my food before I pushed the plate away from me, and got up from my place. “Where are you going?” she asked me when I walked behind her chair and bent down till my lips were close to her ears.

“I don't give a fuck what you know or don't, but you will never be able to disturb any of my relationships,” I said before I walked out of there without looking back. I looked down at my watch to see that there were only five minutes to eight.

Knock knock.

“Come in.” I heard Alpha Ralph call, so I pushed open his door and entered his office. “Please have a seat, Gamma Gomez,” he said, gesturing towards the chair in front of me, and I went over there and took a seat. “How are the training sessions going?”

“Good, Alpha Ralph. Your warriors are quick learners, so till now, I don't have any trouble.” I answered, and he nodded his head.

“Great, well I called you in here to tell you that we wouldn't be needing your services for much longer. Maybe two weeks would suffice,” he said, and I nodded my head. He opened his drawer, took out a letter, and handed it over to me.

“What is this, Alpha Ralph?” I asked him with an arched eyebrow.

“Your paycheck,” he answered, and this made me shake my head, I tried to return it to him, but he shook his head.

“This is for your hard work.”

“You don't have to do it, Alpha Ralph. Alpha Alonso is already paying me a handsome amount.” I said, but he pushed the envelope towards me.

“I know, but take this as a gift from my pack,” he said, and I couldn't argue with him anymore, so I nodded my head, and accepted the envelope.

“Thank you, Alpha Ralph,” I said, and he nodded his head before I got up from my place and left his office. The hallways were still crowded with people hanging around after dinner, but I didn't stick there longer, instead, I walked up to my room. After changing my clothes, I lay down on my bed, and when I was about to close my eyes, my phone rang.

Who can this be now?

I groaned and got up from my bed walked to the coffee table, and took the phone to see that it was Dylan. “Hello?”

“Jose, are you alone?” Dylan asked me.

“Yes, what is it?” I asked him while I moved to stand near my window.

“I called to inform you that one of our pack members was found dead near our borders.”

“What! Is it a male or female?”

“Female. But the murderer has written something on her body.”

“What is it?”

“Just Jose. That is why I called you. Do you know anything about this?” he asked me. This feels strange, I mean I don't remember picking up a fight with any rogue recently, so what does this have to do with me?

“I don't know,” I mumbled. “Do you want me to come there?” I asked him, and I heard a lot of shuffling inside the room.

“No, it's not that serious right now. I will handle this, but please make sure you are safe, all right?” Dylan asked me.

“Of course, okay, I will talk to you later,” I said, and then, I disconnected the call.

Adella Arcos - POV

I turned off the stove and walked into the living room with a glass of orange juice. “Well, I guess we will only get to see our mate tomorrow,” I told my Wolf. And I heard her sigh.

“We should have at least gone to Summer’s house,” she said, and I shook my head.

“Arent we happy alone now?” I asked her, and she huffed before she tuned me out. Once I was done with my orange juice, I walked back into the kitchen and grabbed a plate before I started piling it with the quinoa that I cooked.

I walked back to the living room, sat down on the sofa, and turned on Netflix.

Ring ring.

I took my phone to see that it was Summer. “Hello?”

“Hey, what are doing?” she asked me, and I looked down at my pajamas and the plate in my hand.

“Chilling out with Netflix. What about you?”

“Trying to cook something edible. Anyway, forget about that. I am planning to go to the Human Town tomorrow to shop for a few things for the baby shower. Do you want to come?” she asked me.

“Are you planning to go in the morning?” I asked her, looking at the calendar. It's a Tuesday, and I don't think I want to miss school tomorrow, I have already taken a lot of leave.

“I know you would not come in the morning, so let's go once school is over,” she said, and a smile formed on my face.

“Okay, anyway, have you decided on a theme color?”

“Yes, I was thinking of teal and purple.”

“Well, that is a nice combo.”

“Thank you, also…”

“Summer, I think something is burning in there!” I heard Vince yell in the background while Summer began cursing.

“I am so sorry, Adella. I got to go, but I will text you the other details later?” she asked me.

“Sure, I will see you tomorrow then,” I said before the line was disconnected. I threw my phone next to me and leaned back on the sofa. It's been a while since I went to the human town, and I guess, looking at my wardrobe now, I guess I might have to add a few new collections to it.
