Gamma’s Destined Mate.

Chapter 34

Gamma Jose Gomez - POV

“I feel like you are keeping a distance from me, Jose,” Elena said, and even though I didn't see a tear from her eyes, the way she choked out her words and her eyes spoke volumes. My heart clenched in pain when I realized that I was the reason that she was in pain right now. “Di…did something happen in that pack?” she whispered.

“What do you mean?” I asked her, not sure what she was trying to ask.

“Did you find your mate there?” she asked me, and I felt like my heart was burning inside me. Carlos was urging me to tell her the truth right now, but when I saw her glassy eyes, I just didn't know if this was the right time.

“Elena, I…” something kept stopping me from telling her. “I just need some time to think, Elena. A lot has changed since I went to that pack. And I just need some time to make the right decision.” I told her and I expected her to argue or yell at me for leading her on, but instead, a small smile formed on her face, and she only nodded her head.

“I believe you, Jose. And I will wait till you have a clear view,” she said, and it made me let out a huge sigh of relief. She turned around and started walking alone to her hotel, which made me follow her.

“Let me come with you to the hotel room.” I offered, but she shook her head.

“I just need some time alone, but you go ahead to your house, I bet you are getting late to go back to that pack too,” she said before she continued walking. I just stood there looking at her figure till it disappeared in the crowd.

“Why didn't you tell her the truth?” Carlos growled at me.

“I just couldn't do it,” I mumbled.

“You know you are being a coward, right?” Carlos asked me, but I didn't answer his question. I stood there in the busy street for a couple of minutes longer before I walked back to my house and packed my bags to leave.

“Dylan?” I walked into his office, and he looked up from his laptop. “I am leaving.”

“So soon? I thought you were supposed to go tomorrow,” he asked me, and I nodded my head.

“Yes, but I guess I will feel better if I leave now,” I said, and this made him raise an eyebrow at me.

“Did something happen between you and Elena?” he asked me, but I didn't answer his question. “Fine, I will not ask anything more. You can leave, I will see you soon.” Dylan said, and I nodded my head and left the pack.

When I arrived back at the Blue Moon pack, I drove straight to the pack house and parked my car there before I got down and walked to my room.

Adella Arcos - POV

I was on my way to school when I felt like someone was following me and I turned around to see that it was Crystal and surprisingly she was alone. “What does she want with me now?”

“Maybe she is going somewhere else,” Rachel suggested, and I nodded my head. Maybe that is the case.

“Where are you going early this morning?” Crystal asked me, now walking alongside me, and I shook my head. Well, looks like she has come here to trouble me after all.

“Work,” I answered with a single word, hoping that she got the message that I was not interested in talking to her.

“Of course, the ever-so-perfect Adella,” she exclaimed while I resisted telling something to her.

“What do you want, Crystal?” I asked her, and a pout formed on her face.

“Is that how you treat the Alpha’s daughter,” she asked me, her voice dripping with sarcasm, I rolled my eyes and tried to increase my pace, but she increased hers to match mine. “Don't you want to hear what I have to say?” she asked me, but I ignored her. “Fine, but I hope you heard the news that Gamma Gomez has found his mate,” she said, and this made my steps flatter.

“What are you talking about?” I asked her, my heart started to palpitate, and I gradually stopped and turned around to face her.

“I am not lying if that is what you are trying to imply,” she said, and I know that she was not lying, but I thought we never told this out, so how does she know that Gamma Gomez has found his mate?

“Isn't that a good thing?” I asked her, and that was when a sinister smile formed on her face.

“Of course it is. But I don't think it is good news for you.” she began, and this made me narrow my eyes at her. “You will not be able to sleep with him again.”

“Is that what you think is going on between us?” I asked her, shocked to hear this, and now it was her turn to roll her eyes at me.

“Well, that mate is definitely not you. So don't have high hopes,” she said before she walked away, finishing our conversation. I honestly didn't understand her conversation, and this only confused me even more. Was she talking about me as his mate, or does he have someone else outside this pack?

Ring ring.

My train of thought was broken when my phone started ringing, and I quickly took it out from my handbag to see that it was Summer. “Hello?”

“Where are you, Ella? The staff meeting is about to begin in ten minutes.” Summer said, and that was when I looked at the time

Shit!

“I am on my way. Give me five minutes.” I said before I disconnected the call and practically ran towards the school. When I arrived at the classroom where the meeting was supposed to be held, I realized that I was one of the last ones to enter, and the principal had a disappointed look on his face.

I was never late for anything, not until today.
