Gamma’s Destined Mate.

Chapter 32

Gamma Jose Gomez - POV

I honestly don't have an answer to his question, but it did make me realize one thing. I am only trying to make my decision based on my fears and not what I truly want. I don't know how long can I live like this. “You are correct. But I haven't marked her yet, and for her sweet-natured attitude, she might find someone better than me.” I reasoned, and Carlos shook his head in disappointment.

“Just answer this one question, Jose.”

“Go ahead.”

“If there is a pack war in here right now, and you are required to participate in it, what would you do? Will you just go home and stay there since you know that you might lose your life while fighting a battle?” Carlos asked me an absurd question, which made me shake my head.

“Of course not. I will still fight for this pack till my last breath. I mean, there is a certainty that I might die there, but that is just an option, and I can never take that as my final decision.” I answered.

“So, there you have the answer.”

“What are you talking about?” I asked him, sounding extremely confused.

“Your heart has already accepted Adella as your mate, and that will never change. Even if you reject her now, her memories will never fade, and you will constantly keep yearning for her. I mean, you know your fated mate is practically your other half, and I don't think any man would be complete without it. A puzzle piece can only be perfect with its missing part, Jose. Not with a substitute.” Carlos finished, and I was partly amazed at his philosophical mind. I never thought that my wolf would be more mature than me.

“I guess we have come to an understanding then?” I asked him, and he nodded his head. I downed the entire bottle of scotch, got up from my place on the ground, and walked back to Dylan’s office. When I entered, I saw him busy with some paperwork, but the moment he saw me, he put them aside.

“Are you ready to talk?” he asked me, and I nodded my head and closed the door behind me before I went and took a seat opposite him. “So?” he dragged and waited for me to speak first.

“My heart wants me to choose Adella, but my mind wants me to choose Elena.”

“Are you drunk, Jose?” Dylan asked me with a raised eyebrow, and I shuddered my shoulder. I know I have drunk more than I intended to. “What is your decision, Jose?” Dylan asked me again. I leaned back on the chair, and a smile formed on my face.

“I will tell you when the time comes,” I told him, and he let out a tired sigh.

Adella Arcos - POV

The sky was clear, with a cold breeze blowing around me, making the leaves ruffle. Unknowingly, a smile formed on my face. I am still confused about Jose’s intentions towards me after the talk I had with my Wolf, but for now, I wanted to have some time for myself. “Adella!” I turned around to see Mrs.John frantically waving at me. “Come on in for a cup of tea,” she called me, and I nodded my head, and walked in the direction of her small herbal shop.

When I pushed open the door and entered her shop, my nostrils were immediately bombarded with the scent of all kinds of flowers and herbs. I looked around her small shop, there were four racks in the four corners of the shop filled with jars of different herb blends. A beat-up wooden table was placed behind one of the racks with Mrs.John standing behind it.

“Thank you for inviting me in, Mrs.John,” I said, and she waved her hand in dismissal, walked towards me with two cups of herbal tea, and handed one to me.

“I have been getting lonely these past few weeks without your company, darling,” she said and gestured for me to come and take a seat on the two-seater table overlooking the streets.

“You should have given me a call, Mrs.John. I would have come to see you.” I told her, and she shook her head.

“I heard what was going on in your life, Ella. And I didn't want to disturb you.”

“There is no such thing as a disturbance, Mrs.Johns. Anyway, how is your business going?” I asked her while sipping her tea.

“Well, the usual,” she said and began to tell me everything that she faced the past few weeks.

“You don't have to answer this if you don't want to. But has Beta Lanzo been troubling you for a while?” she asked me, and I nodded my head.

“It has been going on for a while.”

“Oh, but how did that Gamma save you that night?” she asked me with curiosity.

“I think Gamma Jose told this. He had come upstairs to go to the washroom when he heard my screams.” I repeated the lie that Jose had told the pack, but I saw the glimmer of suspicion in her eyes.

“It's kind of hard for me to believe that, Adella. I mean, I also heard that beta Lanzo has cast a spell around the balcony if it is not possible for anyone to hear or see you,” she said, and this made my heart palpitate.

“Maybe it's just my sheer luck.”

“Well, I know you are hiding something from me, dear. But I will not prob any further till you are ready to tell me,” she said, and I nodded my head. It's not that I don't want to tell Mrs.John about Jose, it's just that something is stopping me from doing so.
