Gamma’s Destined Mate.

Chapter 29

Adella Arcos - POV

Jose looked at me like he had not seen me before, which made the butterflies within me start to fly again. “Um, I might have to go back to my pack this weekend since I have some work there,” he said, and this made me frown.

Well, why is he telling this to me, when I never asked him about this?

“You know you don't have to inform me about all your whereabouts, Jose. But I really appreciate it.” I told him with a smile on my face. I have never had anyone whom I could call my family, it was only me and the four walls that I called my home. It felt foreign when someone informed me about where they were going or what they were doing, but deep down, I started to like that.

Jose and I have formed a family without even knowing it, and every little thing that he does makes my heart flutter. “That is what mates do, Adella. I mean, I don't want you to worry or think about what I might be doing,” he told me, and I nodded my head.

“If you wouldn't mind, can I know why are you going to your pack all of a sudden?” I asked him. “It's all ri…”

“Alpha Alonso has called me. He said that he wants to meet me.”

“Oh,” that was all that came out of my mouth.

“Ask him if he could take us to his pack,” Rachel asked me, but I was still unsure.

“Wouldn't that be too soon?”

“We are his mate, and we will eventually have to go there, right? So, there is nothing wrong with that.” she reasoned, and I found her statement reasonable too.

“What are you thinking about?” Jose asked me, breaking me out of my conversation with my Wolf.

“Well, I was wondering if you could take me to your pack this weekend,” I said, and I saw his eyes slightly widen in horror, but his emotions were soon shielded, which made me wonder if I had started to hallucinate too. “I will pack my bags and meet you outside the pack so no one will see us going together,” I told him.

“Uh, Adella, it's just that, I am going to meet Alpha Alonso on an official business, so I don't think taking you now would be right because I will not be able to show you around, and that would not be nice.” he reasoned, and this made a pea-sized amount of suspicion form in my heart.

“Is it because you don't want anyone to see…”

“No, no darling.” he quickly said, and walked towards me and cupped my face in his. “I don't want you staying alone there. But I will take you home with me when I go from here,” he said, and I nodded my head. Maybe he is right. The only reason I wanted to go there was to spend some time with him, and if he didn't have time to spend with me, then there would be no point in that.

“Okay, I guess I will see you next week then?” I asked him with a smile on my face, and he nodded his head. He stepped closer to me and bent down till our foreheads touched, and I closed my eyes, anticipating his luscious lips on mine.

Beep!

The honk of a car made us jump away from each other. “Well, I guess I will have to go,” he said and walked towards me, and placed a chaste kiss on my cheek before he started walking toward the pack house. I just stood near the driveway and looked at him until he disappeared around the corner before I walked back into the house.

“Did your Prince Charming leave already?” Summer asked me as I walked into the living room, and I nodded my head. “What took you so long outside?” she asked me, and it made a blush appear on my face.

“Nothing, we were just talking,” I told her as I took a seat on the couch next to her.

“And?”

“He said that he was going to his pack for the weekend, but he would be back again,” I told her, but she didn't say anything.

“Did he invite you to join him?” she asked me, and I shook my head.

“He said that he is just going for a meeting there. But he did tell me that he would take me when his work here is done.” I told her, but I felt like she didn't believe his words. “Stop being suspicious of him, Summer. I know he will not hurt me.” I told her in a defensive tone.

“I know, but I am still worried,” she said, and I shook my head and completely turned my body so we were facing each other.

“Listen, I don't think there is anything to be stressed out about. Moreover, it is not good for the baby either, Summer.” I told her, and she let out a sigh and leaned back on the couch.

“Maybe you are right. I guess, I am just being paranoid about this,” she mumbled, and this made a smile appear on my face.

“Okay, shall we go to bed now?” I asked her, and she nodded her head and got up from her place. After drinking a glass of milk both of us walked upstairs and made our way to our respective rooms. I took a shower, changed into my pajamas, and lay down in my bed.

“Do you think our mate doesn't like us?” Rachel asked me out of the blue.

“Of course not, I mean, if he did, he would have told us before,” I told her, and she nodded her head before she cut our mind link.

Summer’s words kept popping up in my head while my heart was telling me that Jose truly loves and accepts me as his mate, the logical side of mine is in conflict. He has never openly told me those three magical words yet.
