Gamma’s Destined Mate.

Chapter 10

Adella Arcos - POV

The next day morning, I got up extra early and walked into the bathroom. Most of the bruises on my face had faded. I took a pair of scissors, slowly cut the bandage, and removed it to see that the bleeding had stopped since the cut was closed. I threw all the used bandages and wrapped my hand with a new one before I went to take a shower.

I walked into the living room to see that Gamma Gomez was still asleep, so I went to my kitchen, prepared some coffee, and started making some pancakes. “Good morning.” I briefly turned around to see that he had woken up.

“Good morning. Freshen up and come, I will serve breakfast.” I told him, and he soon left the kitchen. When he came back to the kitchen, I quickly gave him his coffee and started stacking the pancakes on the plate. “Would you like maple syrup or chocolate sauce?”

“Maple syrup would be fine,” he said, and I quickly arranged all those on the table and took a set to eat.

“Wow, your pancake tastes so good. Where did you learn how to cook?” he asked me, and this made a smile appear on my face.

“When I was still an omega, I was assigned to work in the kitchen, and that was when I learned how to cook. And most of my recipes are from one of the old cooks.” I told him, and he nodded his head.

Once we were done with breakfast, he got up and soon left the house, telling me that he had to start his training. I was beyond ecstatic that my mate didn't reject me. After calling the carpenter to come and fix my door, I got ready and went to work.

My day went by in a breeze, and I couldn't wipe the smile off my face. When I was packing my things to go back home, that was when Summer came into school. “Adella!” her cheery voice made me turn around. Summer had a huge smile on her face, but that soon vanished from her face when she noticed the bandage on my hand. “What happened to your hand?” she asked and walked towards me and pulled my hand to inspect.

“Nothing, I…”

“I think it's time to tell the truth to Summer, Adella. We don't have to be afraid anymore since we have got our mate to cover our back.” Rachel encouraged and this made a smile appear on my face.

“I have something I have to tell you,” I said and this made a frown appear on her face.

“What is it?”

“Let's go back to my house and I will explain everything,” I told her, and both of us left the school. When I came back home, I prepared some tea for the both of us, and we sat at my little dining table.

“Tell me what is wrong.” Summer prompted, and I took a deep breath before I explained everything that had been going on for a while. The longer she heard my story, the angrier she got. But she was about to tear my home apart when she heard about what happened last night.

“This has reached the limit, Adella. I have already told you numerous times to come and stay with me, instead of living in this house that is detached from civilization,” she yelled, and got up from the table and she was about to leave my house. “I am going to the Alpha. We can kick that pervert out of this pack,” she said, but I quickly held her hand, preventing her from leaving.

“Don't do anything stupid, Summer.”

“This is not something trivial, Adella. This is a breach of pack rules.”

“I understand. But please calm down for my sake.” I told her. She had a thoughtful look on her face before she finally agreed and took a seat again.

“Anyway, who was that man who saved you?” she asked me while she took a sip of her tea.

“It was Gamma Gomez,” I told her while my cheeks turned as red as a tomato.

“What!” she choked on tea while her eyes were as wide as saucers. “Why did he save you?”

“He is…um…” I started fiddling with my fingers, and a knowing smile appeared on her face.

“Is he your mate?” she asked, and I looked up at her and nodded my head with a smile on my face. She got up from her place and walked to my side and pulled me into a tight side hug.

“I am so happy for you, Adella. You have at last found a perfect match,” she said before she pulled away from me and took a seat next to me.

“When are you going to tell this to the Alpha?” she asked.

“Not right now. I just want to spend some time with my mate alone before I announce it outside.” I told her, and her mouth formed an ‘o’.

“Well, that is up to you. But I am so happy for you. And we should definitely celebrate this.”

“What do you want to do?” I asked her, and she placed a finger on her chin.

“Let's go to the mall tomorrow?” she asked me, and I nodded my head.

Gamma Jose Gomez - POV

I sat down on the edge of my bed with my face between my palms. What the hell have I done? I shouldn't have marked her, but…

“She is our fated mate, Jose. And I will not let you reject her.” Carlos growled at me, but he also knew that I would be the person to make the final decision.

“I am in love with Elena. And I cannot betray her.” I told him, but I felt like I was telling this to reassure myself.

“You are not betraying her by accepting your mate.” he said, emphasizing ‘your mate’.

The love that I felt towards Elena had diminished a tiny bit, and in one small corner of my heart, I think Adella has started to take her place but I was still firm in rejecting her, and I will do it tonight.
