Chapter See (2)
I woke up to a whole lot of male murmurs and slight raised voices. Someone was arguing. I opened my eyes and almost laughed at the scene in front of me. All of my mates, literally all six of them, were seated around my bed. Andrew and Dosch arguing, no surprise there. As were Ash and Oak for some reason. Sebastian was out of his gown and dressed in a Rivellin jogging set. He was closest to me and was holding my hand. At the other side sat Jax. Flanked by Ash and then Oak. Andrew was sitting next to Sebastian and Dosch was in the middle of the room at my feet.
‘What’s going on?’ I croaked and every voice in the room immediately stopped speaking. It was dead silent before everyone spoke at once. I heard my name, I heard questions about how I was doing. I sighed deeply. ‘Guys!’
They all went silent again.
I tried to sit up but the room spun and a sharp pain went through my head. So I had to fall down again. ‘Can someone please tell me what happened now?’ I asked, a little pissed off. Voice ruff.
Again everyone exchanged glances, making me even more grumpy than I already was.
It was Dosch who spoke first. ‘We were ambushed at the meeting.’ Apparently all of them knew about the fact I had no more memory.
‘By whom?’
‘We don’t know yet.’ Oak said.
‘Why are me and Sebastian the only ones hurt?’ because the others looked fine.
‘Because I was the only one who fought for you.’ Sebastian said with a sly smile and Jax threw a pillow at this head. ’Yeah, with a wall.’ Ash grunted. ‘Don’t believe him for a second.’
‘I don’t remember a fucking thing so I don’t even know what to believe!’ I replied. I was angry now. ‘Somebody just talk.’ I snapped.
’Relax, Carina.’ Dosch said. ‘Don’t get your panties in a twist.’ By the heated look he was giving me he was sure as hell hoping to get my panties in a twist alright. He grabbed my foot and tenderly rubbed it.
Andrew continued. ‘They ambushed all of us, some unknown militia. They tied us up and tried to execute us and kidnap you.’
‘Execute you?’ I gasped loudly, which made me break out in a coughing fit. ‘W-why?’
Oak responded. ‘Nothing is clear. But you…-’ he glanced at Andrew for a second which was strange. ‘You saved us.’
’How many were there? How did I possibly save all of you.’ I was looking at the best fighters of the nation and the strongest guys ever. How the fuck did I save them?
The quiet that followed told me something was not right.
‘What is it? How did I save you?’ my voice dropping. Dread building up in my gut.
‘Somehow…’ Ash said. ‘You used some magical force.’
‘We think you harnessed the mating bond somehow. Even though it isn’t set yet.’ Oak added.
‘Is that even a thing?’
‘We’ve been researching for the last few days. There have been some instances where the Tika could harness some powers before the claiming.’ Oak continued.
‘But?’
‘But-’ Andrew scraped his throat. ‘They were all part fae.’
